Nikolai Kholminov is a composer, a bright representative of the Soviet school of music. He was born on September 8, 1925. From early childhood he showed amazing abilities to music, at 12 he had already composed his first opera based on Pushkin’s fairy tale “On the priest and his worker Balda”, and then symphonic compositions appeared. He was born on September 8, 1925. From early childhood he showed amazing abilities to music, at 12 he had already composed his first opera based on Pushkin’s fairy tale “On the priest and his worker Balda”, and then symphonic compositions appeared.
He studied at the music school at the Conservatory in Moscow, where he entered in 1943. Already in 1950, the talented young composer graduated from MGK and became a full member of the Union of Composers, where in different years he held the posts of a member of the organizing committee, secretary of the board and member of the award commission. During his many years of fruitful writing, he created many musical works, among which only 13 operas, as well as a large number of other works, including chamber works.
He died on November 26, 2015.
