In 1994 he received a scholarship from the Amo-Schmidt Foundation as a literary gifted young author. In 1995, A. Eshbach’s debut fantastic novel “Carpets” was published, awarded with the literary genre award of Germany “SFCD”. Then came the novel “Solar Station” (1996), awarded the Kurt Lasswitz Prize, and the novel “Video Jesus” (2000), which became a national bestseller, received both these awards. The works of Andreas Eschbach have been translated into French, Italian, Czech, English, Japanese, Russian and Turkish.
