John Clifford, former premier of New York City Ballet, is one of the most sought-after tutors representing the George Balanchine Foundation. Born in Los Angeles. He studied singing, dancing and acting, preparing himself for a career on Broadway. Born in Los Angeles. He studied singing, dancing and acting, preparing himself for a career on Broadway. "Classic" became thanks to the tour of the Bolshoi Theatre: Anton Dolin, a famous dancer and choreographer of English origin, brought him to the class, which gave Maya Plisetskaya. Clifford immediately "sick" ballet, and under the guidance of Plisetskaya made the first in his life exersis.
In 1960, he was invited to the Balanchine troupe of the New York City Ballet (NYCB), where he soon became a leading soloist. One of his regular partners was Sarah Leland, with whom he found complete understanding on stage and subsequently staged a number of ballets for her and himself. In 73, Clifford was promoted to premiership. His repertoire in the NISB included 46 titles.
