Arkady Yakovlevich Sakhnin (October 5, 1910, Lugansk – 1999) – Russian prose writer, publicist, essayist. Graduated from the Institute of Foreign Trade (Moscow, 1936).
Member of the CPSU since 1939 Participant of the Great Patriotic War. He was awarded the Order of the October Revolution, the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, the Order of the Patriotic War of the II degree, the Order of the Red Star, the Order of the Badge of Honor, medals. Born into a typewriter family. Worked in railway transport. He worked as a correspondent for "The Hood."
During the war he was a correspondent of a front-line newspaper, editor of a divisional newspaper. In 1942 he was seriously wounded. He was awarded two orders and eight medals.
The first stories were published in 1943 in a front-line newspaper. The first novel “Clouds at Dawn” – in 1954. In the following years he published novels and essay books.
He regularly appeared in Pravda, Izvestia, Komsomolskaya Pravda.
