Book 1 of the trilogy People at the Crossroads (1937) depicts the life of Czechoslovak society after the formation of an independent state. During the years of German-fascist domination in Czechoslovakia, Puimanova turned to poetry (Songwriter, 1939; Raphael and Satelit, 1944). After the war she published collections Joy and Pain (1945), A Confession of Love (1949), Millions of Doves (1950), etc.
In 1948, in the 2nd (Game with Fire, 1948) and the 3rd (Life Against Death, 1952) parts of the trilogy, pictures of the struggle of the Czechoslovak people against fascism were recreated. In the trilogy, the most vividly reflected the manners of Puymanova characteristic of creativity: a combination of publicism and psychologicalism, lyrical and humorous principles.
Author of the poem "Pani Curie" (1957), the story "Sister Alain" (1958), travel sketches about India. State Prize 1937, 1948, 1951, 1953, 1955.
