Vittorio Monti is a composer from Italy, where he was born in January 1868 in the city of Naples. He is best known as the author of the famous composition "Csárdás" (Csárdás) - a work that was created based on Hungarian dances and is currently performed not only by orchestras, but also on almost all existing musical instruments.

For a long time Vittorio Monti was in the French Symphony Orchestra Lamoureux as the first violin and concertmaster. Since 1900, he received the position of conductor of one of the French concert halls called Paris-Concert.
During his musical activity, Vittorio Monti composed several operettas, ballets, plays (violin, vocal and instrumental), and also wrote a textbook on playing the mandolin - one of the instruments he owned.
Vittorio Monti died in 1922 at the age of 54. /
