Screenwriter, director. Andreas Struck was born in 1965 in Cologne. He studied literature in Bonn and Berlin. In 1987 he wrote the script for the play and began working as an assistant director in the drama theaters of Hamburg and Vienna. He made his film debut in the film Chilaut (1999), which was shown in the Panorama section of the Berlin Festival. Sugar Orange (2004) also won critical acclaim and the German Independence Award at the Oldenburg Film Festival. Lullabies (2009) with Chulpan Khamatova was again included in the Panorama section of the Berlinale 2009.
