An example of the perfect horror This film embodies so many emotions that words cannot describe. Paranoia, anxiety, sadness, loneliness, fear and possibly guilt. The film scares no longer ghosts and screamers, namely the horrors of real life. Adam Wingard basically shows us what the mind of a person who is on the verge of decay looks like. It's something that most of us have gone through, but something that we've never thought about how it might be portrayed on screen. It's beautiful. Every scene is beautiful and meaningful. I don’t know how to create something like this on such a small budget. I've never seen anything more authentic since Harmony Corin. Adam Wingard uses so many different directions to portray things we can’t hear and can only see. I just can't give it enough praise.
Yes, it may not be something you would watch with your family or even friends. I watched it alone and have watched it alone ever since. There are scenes that remind me of Cronenberg and Lynch, but still separate Wingard from everyone else. I've been a fan of him since I saw You're Next, and for me Pop Skull is his best movie. After watching it, he left an emotional imprint on me that no film has left in so long.
The film embodies the story of Daniel and his heartache caused by his girlfriend. When they broke up, Daniel became depressed. He couldn’t tell the difference between dream and reality. He sees the spirits of two guys and a girl that these two guys brutally killed and then committed suicide.
Pop Skull featured some groundbreaking depictions of hallucinatory states of mind that were a useful tool for conveying a character's complex emotional states.
The acting is great (I saw this movie in the original). The soundtrack is great and memorable.
That's all I wanted to say. I don’t want to spoil your impression of the movie.
