Fox Kids (later Jetix) opened up a new world of animated series (and even a couple of entertaining TV series). A couple of years later, I decided on a group of cartoons that I did not like with time, but on the contrary, I appreciated them even better. One of the best projects for me was the animated series “Life with Louis”.
Please love and reward, Louis Anderson. Now he is a well-known comedian and humorist, but as a child he was the most ordinary child from Wisconsin, where he lives with his parents - former military Andy, who still poisons military stories, about and without, and housewife Ora, who cooks the best in the world, as well as with ten brothers and sisters. Growing up in such a large and noisy family, Louis looks at the world with adult eyes, trains in humorous improvisations and the skill of a humorist, loves to eat a lot and tasty and often gets into unusual situations, both on his own, and with his friends, and with his whole family!
This cartoon is unique in that it is interesting for both children and adults. First, children will look at all sorts of ordinary and unusual situations that Louis and his friends find themselves in, and see themselves in the place of the protagonist. While adults with the same smile look at restless children and how they are raised by their parents, they will also laugh at these different situations. I think such a lively and colorful story of the lives of ordinary people was one of the reasons why my mother liked the animated series Life with Louis at one time.
I liked him for the hilarious situations and very accurate humor of the main character. But after a couple of years, I realized that this was the first American sitcom in my life - a comedy of situations that occur daily in the background of the lives of ordinary people. And there were many comedic situations here - and attempts to catch the legendary and semi-mythical fish, and baseball training, reminiscent of military training, and constant stories of his father about military everyday life, and incredible travels across the country. Also, thanks to this animated series, I first learned about many features of American culture and American life: Thanksgiving, Mother’s Day, Halloween, the school presidential election, love of baseball, decorating houses at Christmas, periodic weather anomalies like floods and hurricanes, school camps and much more.
The main character is a real man, American comedian Louis Anderson, who in detail grew up in a large family, loved to eat, laugh and cheer others. The hero of the animated series is the most ordinary boy Louis, living in a small town of Wisconsin, who goes to school, spends time with friends, adores his mother’s cooking, tries to evade another dad’s military tale, jokes about his younger brother Tommy, tries to escape from another ambush of hooligans... All that a normal child can do at 8-9 years old. But in this mundaneness and lies the main charm of the cartoon – as I have already mentioned, we unwittingly put ourselves in the place of the hero, imagine ourselves in his place and even dream of getting into the same accidents as he: go to the lake and try to catch the mythical beast-pike, tame a deer, train a guide dog, overcome your fear and ride on an extreme attraction, learn to ski, organize an election campaign, learn to play baseball, watch American football in the stadium, drive across the country in various forms of transport, involuntarily organize aliens ... And Louis himself looks at all these events and the ordinary life of his family, friends and other residents of the city with humor - perhaps thanks to this cheerful childhood, Louis Anderson decided to devote his whole life to humor. And the comedian himself repeatedly appeared on the screen with the opening and final scene!
In addition to Louis in the film, there are a lot of bright and spectacular characters, each of which simply cannot but be remembered: Andy Anderson is the second most colorful hero of the animated series, Louis's father, a former military man who is always ready to tell about his everyday life, often embellishing some of his exploits, who is just as sarcastic, but sometimes gives valuable advice, and who loves and cares about his large family; Ora Anderson is Louis's mother, a beautiful housewife and cook, always kind and patient with her son, Andy, who often does not care about her son, and his grandmother.
Louis’ classmates are his best friends: Ginny Harper is Louis’s friend and secret love, Michael Grunwald is his best friend, because of which guys often get into accidents, and Scott Jensen. A lot of time is given here and enemies – school hooligans, the main of which is Glen-Glen, about which we sometimes learn a lot of interesting things.
Life with Louis - one of the most favorite cartoons of my childhood. I still remember some of his episodes and I still have fun remembering them! I recommend – not only for a fun pastime, but also to get acquainted with American life.

Pleasant viewing!
P.S. Dedicated to Louis Anderson, who introduced me to American comedy.
I, perhaps, like many noted, was here after revisiting this animated series - or maybe something there in childhood overlooked. And, it turned out that this is really so - after all, as a child, 'Life with Louis' was rather just one of many animated series that spinned on ' Box' to give parents respite from their own children. Now, reviewing it with a more sober (very much I want to believe) look, I understand that the animated series is even better than it seems.
At least because it is permeated with some unfictional and not particularly characteristic of American film production & #39; warmth and kindness - a direct feeling that the Party itself would approve it, because something, something, and positive and educational qualities it can not take away.
Especially they, of course, permeated the character of the mother of the main character - Ora Anderson. Quickly thinking, she's just like Uncle Fedor's dad - and we'll get a cat, and a Zaporozhian, everything is so completely ingenious and cheerful. Father (my favorite character, always was, still adore all sorts ' Borchuns') - Andy Anderson is quite the mother of Uncle Fedor, kind of strict and unbearable, and nothing is impossible, but also not without a soft and kind side, just ' the character is such.
The older brothers and sisters of the family remain completely undisclosed, which is even somewhat insulting - they mostly do not even have faces, they only flash in the frame sometimes. It would be interesting to know a little more about them.
Why did it seem that there should be more? I don’t know, it’s probably something of a professional deformation, only serialodeormation. Now all either mini, series of eight, or maxi, series of 45 in 35 seasons.
But what am I saying? Oh yes, a great animated series. 'I would put the top five with them plus - and add another plus!'
The most beloved cartoon of all. 'Life with Louis' First of all, good because it is suitable for absolutely any age audience. The message is as simple and clear as possible and in this case it only gives it value. It teaches kindness, compassion, love and responsibility. I first watched it when I was about 10 years old, and now, 20 years later, I still laugh as sincerely as I watch this beautiful animated series. The humor is subtle and gorgeous, which is not surprising given that its creator is brilliant comedian Louis Anderson. It is clear that the creator treated with all his heart to the creation of the cartoon. Characters 'Living with Louis' all good in their own way, but I will highlight only two of them:
1. Andy Anderson is a sarcastic father. He is a former military man who tries to run his family like a company. Favorite phrases: 'I heard everything!' and 'When I was at war. . . ' Talking about his military past often likes to embellish. But most importantly, despite the grouchy nature, Andy has a huge heart. This eccentric warrior is a real idol of my childhood.
2. Louis Anderson is a good-natured and very ironic protagonist of the story. The boy is not childishly intelligent, very sensitive and has an outstanding sense of humor. A lover of food, especially donuts. Very inquisitive and responsive boy
Perhaps somewhat paradoxical, but with age I only grew to love this wonderful animated series. It creates an atmosphere of kindness, warmth and comfort of the hearth and always raises the mood. Thank you, Louis!

If you remember my childhood, then an invariable part of it was the channel with the American animated series Fox kids. The series there were good, on the usual channels they were almost not played, except that Ren TV released a block with cartoons from the kits.
There were a lot of good projects, but Life with Louis always came first. Even now I watch some episodes when I am sad and want to cheer up.
The series is about an ordinary American family in a provincial town. And although the main character there is a boy Louis, for me his whole family has become like a native, so they are charismatic, kind and, yes, in some ways similar to us.
In Louis, for sure, everyone recognizes himself in childhood, with joys and experiences, with problems and friends. And in Tommy, many recognize their younger relatives, whom you care for, and scare, and compete sometimes.
Parents are a special story. Andy Anderson, an honored veteran with a loyal old rembler and unquestionable authority, at least he thinks so. But all the time he gets into history, no less than his children. Of course he likes to grumble. But it will, it will. And he will tell you another story from his heroic life.
And what a wonderful Anderson mom, kind, understanding, a counterweight to the authoritative Andy. Always ready to help, even if less brightly than Daddy Anderson.
And most importantly, the series has a lot of good humor, this series can easily be recommended for family viewing.

Cartoon 'Life with Louis' attracted me from the first episode I saw. I liked that in the cartoon everything is shown kind, bright and very pleasant for watching a child.
Cartoon 'Life with Louis' is a multi-part animated film consisting of 39 episodes, lasting approximately 20 minutes each, divided into 3 seasons. each episode is a complete story.
The plot of the cartoon is presented on behalf of the main character Louis Anderson, a famous comedian who tells about his childhood. A special place in this story belongs to the family of Louis Anderson. Another special place in the life of Louis plays school, his school friends, friends, and perhaps the only enemy of Glen-Glen, who constantly ' gets ' and torments Louis.
The events taking place in the cartoon are shown not only through the eyes of an 8-year-old boy, but also from the perspective of the past years. Louis Anderson sums up each story and makes an adult assessment of what happened to him.
Cartoon ' Life with Louis' impregnated with humor and sometimes sarcasm. This is a wonderful and interesting cartoon that gives a good mood and makes you remember your childhood.
As a child, I did not even think what a masterpiece this is - 'Life with Louis'. I only understood with age. . .
Louis Anderson, the main character, a chubby over-the-year smart boy, experiences the usual situations for all children: children's camp, the first pet, mother' pregnancy', the death of a grandmother, child love. Well, almost normal, except for meetings with the president and much more added to the series for a twist. In his own way, as a child, he gets acquainted with the adult world, accepts the first difficulties. Louis is a sensitive, kind boy. But why did he become such and not grow into a bullying Glen Glen?
This is thanks to his wonderful parents - Ora and Andy Anderson! Ora - an example of a wise mother who takes care of twelve children (no, I didn't misspoke, the husband in the family is the main child), the keeper of the hearth. But her image is typical, but Louis's father, Andy Adreson - a brave warrior, loyal ' priest' his car Rembler, a man with special charisma. He's a loser, a grumpy, a mean guy. But a man with a capital letter. Behind his dissatisfied words lies a big heart.
I can't say bad about anyone. Characters are so similar to real people! Glen Glen - a bully who became so because of a bitchy mother. Tommy - a charming kid who honors his older brother, but often quarrels with him. Episode brothers and sisters Louis - ' business & #39; teenagers who have appeared in life ' more significant & #39; things than family. Helga Anderson - a good grandmother, but a harmful old woman, likes to pretend to be sick and infirm, likes to put pressure on his son because he is not rich, unlike his brother. Doesn't she look like a lot of old people? But Henrytta Sherman, the mother of Ora, is a woman of a great soul, not a grumpy, kind old woman, apparently from her mother Ore got wisdom.
Of course, they all left an imprint on Louis. But the print is positive. We can look at adult Louis Anderson and only rejoice in this fat, charming man.
The stories shown in the cartoon are comical or tragic, but the kind of life stories that eight-year-old Louis encounters are full of really big meaning. Probably, they helped not only young Anderson, but also adult television viewers.

Nothing less than the best animated series in history!
The kindest and most soulful cartoon I've ever seen. A beautiful sense of humor, a fascinating plot, the realism of our lives, eternal values, the theme of childhood and viewing all this with a sense of humor, with simplicity that harbors depth. After watching such an animated series, you want to live, you realize how much beauty there is in the world around and in our own lives. Against the background of the cult of freedom and tolerance of recent years, the cartoon is perceived even better, because it shows us the golden time of democracy of the 20th century, when family values, issues of friendship and integrity were in the first place. Simply put, in this cartoon everything is right, in different ways, recognizing our weaknesses, sometimes ridiculing stereotypes, the cartoon includes eternal values that should be in the life of any person. And what's especially cool is that the viewer comes to these conclusions himself.
The cartoon is unique in that it has two planes of its viewing in time: it is able to appreciate and love both children and adults. At the same time, the perception of children is still different from that of adults. When you revisit Louis’ story years later, you notice something new that you haven’t seen before. What you saw before, you still understand and feel.
And finally, it is impossible not to note a wonderful sense of humor, surprisingly vital. It has grace, wit and subtlety) This humor, which can arise only in our lives, which is the personification of the inner world of people, it is possible precisely in the conditions of a friendly atmosphere of family and friends.
This series can be watched forever. Even on the 10th view, everything is perceived with interest and freshness. It looks like it can be revised every year, and each time we will receive a huge charge of energy and heat.
Do you need to relieve fatigue? Or maybe just cheer yourself up after a bad day? Can't sleep? Life with Louis is enough to solve these problems.
The rating is symbolic, since the value of this animated series cannot be measured:

This film has always caused and will cause me only positive emotions.
It is so kind and sincere that it can be reviewed endlessly. It’s like ' The irony of fate' in this respect, never gets bored.
In some episodes there were even moments when I let down a tear. It's the first time I've cried while watching a cartoon. And I believe that if the picture is able to make the viewer cry, then you can safely put the highest score.
Which is exactly what I will do.
