Briefly about the main thing. Part 19. How to stay afloat" is a remake of the film "Head above the water" Norwegian director Nils Göup. Alas, the original is almost erased from memory, so I will not compare the American film with its older European brother. Let's talk more about the movie Jim Wilson.
Jim Wilson is better known as a producer of films with Kevin Costner, made a rather interesting, but fairly forgotten film. The only thing that allows the film, saying its same name "Keep afloat" - the cast. Not every day you will see on the screen 24-year-old Cameron Diaz, and in this film she is really cute and there is some lost charm in her. Cameron Diaz makes a duet in this film Harvey Keitel, and I was surprised at his presence at first. In a very episodic, but rather funny role here you can see Billy Zane. With the exception of two actors, this is the entire cast of the film.
In addition to the actors, the film is interesting for its story. The usual kind of accident gradually becomes a nightmare for the main characters of the picture and with each minute acquires new details, turning from a simple accident into something strange and mysterious. Each hero of the picture tries to get out of the situation in his own way in accordance with his personal views, principles and so on. The action of the film is also interesting for its closed location. Heroes solve their personal problems and problems with the law on a small island. This allows you to immerse yourself more in what is happening on the screen and, so to speak, retire with the characters, without being distracted by any unnecessaryities.
In general, "How to stay afloat" turned out to be quite interesting, in its atmospheric and gradually increasing tension film, with a large number of elements of black comedy.
