I didn’t get to watch Inspector Morse 39 in the old days, when television was still the main source of entertainment. I watched it now, in 2020. I watched almost exactly six months, carefully dosing. Because ' Inspector Morse' deserves to watch it measuredly and tastefully, otherwise the price of the whole concept is pennies.
It would seem that the plot is well known and repeated from time to time in all detective series: the inspector and his sergeant investigate murders. In this case, in Oxford and its surroundings. Only Morse is not an ordinary inspector, he studied at one of the colleges of Oxford, loves opera and crossword puzzles and, besides, is afraid of heights and the dead. Morse's arrogant character is the cause of headaches for most of his colleagues and superiors, but with Sergeant Lewis they are a great tandem. By the way, Morse has a complicated relationship with women and by his attachment to some of them you can sometimes even calculate the villain.
Not all series are equally good, in my opinion, but on the scale of the whole series it is not striking. The investigation is always very detailed and interesting, especially since it is for Inspector Morse & #39; the plot is characteristic, when seemingly unrelated events turn out to be very connected.
For me, it all started with my favorite 'Endeavor'. I knew, of course, when I watched 'Endeavor' that there must be a lot of references to the original series, but only after watching 'Inspector Morse' (after 'Endeavor'), I realized how many of them there are and how important every little thing is. Already in the pilot 'Endeavor' there is a house, and a car, and the characteristic gestures of the future inspector. I love such details very much! Well, Roger Allam personally combined both series.
' Inspector Morse' good in itself, and in combination with ' Endeavour' and quite beautiful! And there you can see some familiar faces, still very young, for example, Michelle Fairley and Rachel Weiss!
