The Way to Perfection Isao Takahata was a brilliant director, animator. I really love his cartoons, and they are the same masterpieces of anime as the legendary Hayao Miyazaki. Two of Takahata’s animated films, titled “Yesterday” and “The Grave of the Fireflies”, are in my small list of most favorite and favorite films.
Now before our attention is Takahata’s early cartoon “Cellolist Gosu”. Here is a fairy tale by Japanese writer Kenji Miyazawa. The cartoon turned out to be incredibly sweet and kind, filled with some magic and charm. He looks with a smile, and I want to say that this animation picture is beautiful.
We see the story of a young cellist. He is a very diligent but mediocre student, and his beloved Beethoven tries to play every day. A big concert is coming, and Goshu is due to perform Beethoven's Symphony No. 6, but he doesn't succeed, and the guy feels that his teacher is not happy. At night, when Gosya rehearses at home, animals began to come to him who personified anthropomorphism. Gosyu talked to them and every evening walked along the path to the perfection of his work.
The cartoon is charming for its ambiguity, unusual story and the way it has been sweetly revealed. In the early 80s, Takahata and his team had already begun to create small masterpieces, and it was a sure road to fame and recognition. The most interesting thing is that not only young viewers will enjoy this fairy tale, but, of course, adults. After you see it, you think, and the whole puzzle comes together. This fairy tale is mystical, which is why it is so mysterious.
It is difficult for me to convey the delight of what I saw - this is a truly beautiful, intelligent, musical film that everyone should see. Personally, I love this story and it deserves close attention. You have to go for what you love so much, so fiercely and obsessively, like the hero in this story.
Gosu cellist is a Japanese, fantasy-flavored musical cartoon from 1982. Isao Takahata’s animated work is without any praise worthy of respect, and I say yes to her. Thank you.
