The concert failed... I love Brazilian cinema: after watching them, there is an aftertaste that does not leave you for a week. And you walk, think, reflect, imagine yourself in the place of the characters of the picture, absorb the musical component. With such thoughts I turned to the historical and musical drama "Rural concert".
It would seem that what else is needed for success? Magnificent natural shooting, popular Brazilian actors, entourage and costumes of the middle of the XIX century, but... The film, throughout its timekeeping, leaves you (me) completely indifferent. Even all the above pluses of the picture do not cover a rather boring, I would even say boring, plot.
No periphery of the plot does not catch, but they are simply not here. Well, I saw Major Eleutherio playing the "wise" melody of the Indians, well, I decided to assemble an orchestra in his village. What's next?
One of the most pleasant actresses for me, Samara Felipe, looks like her character in the miniseries House of Seven Women, but compared to the latter, the role of Clara Victoria is absolutely not memorable and uninteresting. Banality and stamp on the stamp - that's what you can say about it. However, I never understood how a girl, who is not poor enough, still can neither read nor write.
The finale of the picture shocked me, frankly: a kind of adrenaline surge in a languid story. I didn’t expect to see such a contrast almost before the final credits.
In the end, we have a passing picture, which, if you do not look, you will not lose anything. One point for entourage, costumes and scenery, one point for actors, two points for the final. Well, and one ... so ... for an even number.
