I watched this series in my youth. I'm not an anime artist, but I tried to know what the Japs were up to. If I watched the anime, I tried to choose something more serious, dramatic, usually immediately full-length, so that there was no garbage. This series made a good impression at the beginning, it was something bookish, in moderation Gothic, similar to Lovecraft's ravings. Something with a good quality bar, in the spirit of its time. Like Sailormun and Naruta, only more serious and gloomy, in places similar to Hellsing, and in places even Evangelion. But I began to notice that the series literally with each episode becomes worse and the pop soviet, all the bookliness of it leaked, became more and more dull urine, some left-handed buffooned characters, there was a clogging of timekeeping with long repetitive tedious battles, unfunny jokes, fake dialogue. In the end, I watched 12 episodes, got some fun... and dropped. Because it turned out that this is not some short series, which will now say that he wanted, and beautifully leave – no, there is a stopover series! It was noticeable that at some stage it was planned to be shorter and more meaningful, and after 12 episodes there is a sense of the end of the season ... but there was marketing! Watch a whole Santa Barbara about doll and clown fetishes? I simply did not agree with such a feat. It wasn't worth it! Then my then girlfriend watched the series without me, and from her retellings I understood how right I had done: there was a very overloaded lore, and at the same time the story was no longer about where it began, and it happened with the wrong characters. That is, right on the move, the viewer was replaced by the series. If you take a 50th episode and watch it next to the 1st, there’s no telling it’s the same thing. Years later, to have a more complete view, I watched a review of the series. The reviewer told it all through laughter and tears. I made sure I didn’t miss anything worthwhile there. Or rather, the retelling shows that there are some points of power tension, but between them everything is packed with a selective "cool". Well, on the items. - Although the series is mowing under something serious, and the monsters of the day look high-quality and cool, the main villain himself is absolutely NEEP. This fat devil could be from some TV show about ponies, from a cartoon for 6-year-olds. How did he get here? That Ladybug could fight him. Winx or something. But it’s a show about exorcists, Gothic... and the main villain is a fat clown. No words. - Why are the Nojevics villains? I'm an atheist, but even I think it's too much. In the Bible, all living people are descendants of Noah. - The lion's share of the plot is built on the awesome reception "And here others have come." It's with kids in the yard, when one team hit another, and they don't want to lose, they come up with more characters and try to continue. In this case, the plot tramples on the spot, back and forth, from empty to empty. - The most annoying thing is that the authors on the move invented a completely random lore: “acuma of the 4th level, crystal exorcist, crowned clown.” They're clowns themselves. Each monster must be defeated 3-4 times, because he is resurrected and reborn, the energies are dragged there, the energies are dragged here and they are not enough, not enough, we need more lightning, we need to build a ziggurat, we need to smash the ass into sacks to win... And the fat Karabas in the clouds flies and laughs. You just get tired of watching. Such bullshit. Overall, it could be a good series. But to do that, you need to cut out all the moments like "Wah-ha-ha, you underwhelmed me." And extra characters. And cut about 75% of the series.
The structure of the amine is quite simple, so the authors do not miss the chance to demonstrate the versatility of the characters. At first glance, Kanda is just frowning, Allen is just sad at the death of anyone, the Count just wants to ruin everything, and so on. However, if you look at the characters a little better, you can find their versatility.
There is a sequel to the anime, and above I lied to you. In the first season, there is no bright disclosure of the characters - there are only "Chekhov rifles" that start shooting mostly in this very sequel. It is there that answers a huge number of questions are given, but not all.
Just between you and me, the manga, I guess, hasn’t got its true ending yet, and from the end of the sequel to the end of the events, there’s not much material in the manga, there’s not enough for the new season. However, if you want to know interesting things about the Count, you can read.
So, the first season with a bunch of initial touches and the second, with the main content of the picture. If you are lucky, the manga will still be completed, and in another 5 years it will be filmed. If so, we can finally enjoy the painting in all its splendor.
In the meantime, let’s celebrate the Clown, his sword, code-named “Sanctified Dragon Slayer,” and his magnificent character, whose reason for existence is also in the sequel.
While preparing an analysis of one anime, another came to my eyes - and quite entertaining. The combination of my favorite setting and the main idea bribed immediately; there are quite a lot of characters here, but they are all very bright, memorable; the soundtrack is excellent, although only one of the openings hooked me.
I miss 'The Dark Butler' - or rather, the sequel to the anime that still won't come out. In D.Gray-man, we find ourselves in Victorian England in an entirely alternate reality. There is very little political discussion here – even when exorcists travel to other countries, they can only be hinted at in Japan. But it is based on a semi-religious and pseudo-religious theme with slightly rewritten biblical stories. There is a Black Order, the main force of which are exorcists, expelling demons (acuma) formed from the souls of 2 people, a corpse-vessel, and in combat form - from firearms/missile weapons and armor. It is very funny to watch how ordinary residents of that era do not even have phones in their homes, and the exorcists have flying means of communication, beacons and robots running around the headquarters. That's what fantasy is about.
About borrowing. Rarely do they not exist, but it is not always possible to combine them with the author’s own ideas. Katsura Hoshino did it. Well, for example, GlavHero Allen Walker is a kind of tribute to Edward Elric, but with a more digestible character. Allen has the same background with an irreparable deed for which he is now paying, a disfigured limb and service for redemption and the achievement of a high goal in the state structure. Hence greetings to the military organization and chic uniforms of the "Steel Alchemist". The exorcists, like the state alchemists, are the elite, the majority simply pray for them. But if the Alchemist of Steel is politics in its purest form, then magic prevails in D. Gray-man. Also, of course, it is impossible not to remember Ichigo Kurosaki. He and Allen share certain problems in the inner world and a desire to protect and save everyone. But if Ed and Ichie are asleep and see how to punch someone, then Al prefers to sit still and eat something again. And my favorite: the mother of all the anime Sailor Moon. Oh, these moments of activation of weapons (especially in Linali) and situations where the characters drink one at a time to apprehend side enemies (almost like in the Three Musketeers) and GG got to the main boss in the area. Even the way acuma and villains appear throughout the seasons of Grey Man is reminiscent of the construction of any season of SM (and most of all, the second). And yet, there is a lot of new here.
The antagonist Millennium Count is very colorful. He is the head of the ancient Noah family, carriers of dark matter and the main opponents of exorcists - carriers of Pure Power. Both the Count and the rest of the family seem to be evil, and they are, but we can trace their relationship with each other, the behavior of some of them, and then dig much deeper into the Holy One. It seems that something is wrong here. We can assume that this will be revealed in the finale, when Hoshino has already figured out how to finish the manga. In any case, the life of exorcists, the whole "kitchen" of the organization causes a great response and involvement. We like them because they are good, no doubt about it. But they are dominated by the power of the Vatican, and there are quite different people, cruel and unprincipled. And it remains to be seen who is the greater villain in the end.
Of the disadvantages, we can highlight the tightness. There are series where nothing important and interesting happens, but the plot is stretched and stretched, when it would be possible to quickly move from one storyline to another.
Anyway, what I want to say is... I’m very impressed, I consider this anime one of the best I’ve watched in my life. And hope that the new season after the “Saint” will be released not in 10 years, but at least in three years. Hope is traditionally the last to die. And for today, everything, until new meetings.
8.5 from 10
With D.Gray-man my relationship developed in a very tense form - the quality of the episodes jumped too much. Of course, for a multi-part anime fillers are a common thing, but it was here that they especially finished.
The beginning (and this is almost a dozen with a small issue, i.e. about 240 minutes) are nothing special at all. Ordinary mediocre action, which comes out a handful of seasons. And only the solemn defiling of the Noah family in front of the fast faces of exorcists made the action somewhat cheerful. The action scenes still looked a little gabby (screaming techniques, pompous speeches during fights), but then you remember that it is the same. .
The fight between Tiki and Allen is a turning point, as the rest of the fights, executed in a much more serious and even dramatic way, begin to start from it (in some ages characters die, which in itself is an achievement for this genre). And yet the authors are backing down. Why was it impossible to bring the Ark arch to a logical finale, in which the heroes will not count a couple or two people? That is what puts an end to the further continuation of the "Gray-man", after such obscurantism, the remaining series are squandered on the machine: the intrigue has already been negated. One can make an argument in the spirit of ' it is also Senen' however, the emphasis has already been successfully shifted towards realism, and a sharp return to the original rails does not add points to the overall score.
In my opinion, D.Gray-man is a good action movie, but that’s all. The plot did not reveal itself for 100+ episodes, the characters (with rare exceptions, which is surprising from the villains - the same Tiki) also did not go far, the fights meet the standard, almost according to GOST (the eye has nothing to catch on in flashing special effects, and the creators do not offer anything else to the viewer) - by all parameters distilled anime, not at all necessary to familiarize.

Fantasy. This is a rich world of brightness, without unnecessary pieces of modern life. No limits can hold him even outside his own mind. Before you start such a viewing, it is worth first determining what benefit you expect from this viewing. I assure you in advance, no benefit. But... stormy positive emotions and the power of conviction about the completion of the task will not leave you alone.
Dee Grey-Man can be talked about, written and thought about exactly in the length of a hundred episodes. The title of the series is combined with the name of the main character Allen Walker, which pushes for some doubts, since it is impossible to say that this series is dedicated only to the life of this boy. Digging into the search for “common essence”, the viewer often discovers false arguments and finds himself in a dead end. It is not surprising, because every dozen episodes the essence changed, the opposite, and the ending did not leave a clear conclusion. On the one hand, it is a decent size raisins, like the creativity of the creators. On the other hand, these are the most common moral mistakes that often occur in large-scale TV series. There is nothing unusual in this, if a person is asked “What is this series about?”, he will begin to scroll through the entire series in his head from the first to the last, and then declare his own result from the information that he managed to catch. The more the number of respondents, the more different versions of the conclusions. There are many topics that can be discussed and discussed again. These include: “Sense of self-esteem”, “Triumph for friends and for loved ones”, “Self-knowledge”, “Skill to listen and feel”, “Honor”, “Loyalty”, “Purpose”. It is enough that all the topics interrupt each other and therefore none of them was completed.
It would seem that the written text clearly expresses the disadvantages, but in fact it is not. You can talk about these things in different ways, depending on the audience that this work is designed for. Very vivid images of individuals, classic Japanese fights, loss of comrades, bordering philosophy, all data are planned for the audience of the teenage generation from 15 to 25 years. Since the series was originally designed in 30 episodes, the creators began to create a modest plot about a fairy tale story and the exploits of one young man, and the theme had assumptions of a narrow range of boys of school age. With the development of the environment, the series began to gain momentum and amplify events, pushing forward, a powerful scale of interest. What we see is the growth of pure power and direct worldview of all the characters involved, as well as a significant expansion of the age audit of viewers.
To say that the series is not finished, I will not. This is a very creative ending and in my opinion it is absolutely successful. This fact can be summed up in just one sentence: “Is it worth staying in the same skin when all your enemies are destroyed?”
Draw conclusions.
“Was the game worth the candle?” – that’s the question I asked myself after watching the last, the 103rd series. And you know what, I realized it wasn't.
First of all, I want to warn you that the series isn’t over, which I didn’t know. So viewing from A to Z of all the series turned out to be meaningless, because the battle is not over, and most likely we will not see the continuation, since it has already been 5 years since the release of the last series. So think carefully: do you need it? Watch 103 episodes, knowing that everything will end in the most interesting place?
Plot. Good fights evil. The originality is amazing.
Heroes. Alain Walker. A guy with a dark past, because we didn't know exactly who Mana was, his adoptive father. From the narrative it becomes clear that he took Alain to him for a reason, because as a child he taught him the secret signs that allow him to control the Ark. Alain’s qualities: honesty, courage, love for friends, the weak and defenseless. In short, the prince on a white horse or, more precisely, the Crowned Clown.
Lee Na Lee. The right girl who fights for friends and for her brother, not sparing her stomach. Friends are everything to her. Boring.
Lavi. Lavi is an exorcist historian, although it is not clear to me why historians have “pure power”—innocence. The guy is funny and also for friends at least in the fire, even in the water.
Kanda. This character is also undisclosed because we don’t know why he keeps saying he can’t die without doing something. The character is funny - behind false arrogance hides, as it seems, a shy guy.
Crowry is a vampire exorcist. It turns out that bloodsuckers save the world, not drink dry people. It happens.
I will not list all the characters so as not to tire the reader. All characters have personality, which is good.
It should be noted that dramatic scenes that are really catchy are few. The only thing that touched me was the story of the doll and its owner. Heroes are crying about and without, frankly, sometimes it stresses.
The only thing I don’t regret wasting a lot of my time on puff is a beautiful tune on the piano – you can listen to it endlessly.
Ladies and gentlemen, it's up to you to watch or not. My goal was to warn that the series is not over.
This was the second month of my anime hobby. I was looking for something to see and found this miracle. Over the past six months, I have reviewed it 4 times. The plot, the idea, the drawing: everything is done in the best way.
Late nineteenth century, England. Exorcists fighting the Millennium Earl and Akums, Noah, Pure Power, prophecy: all this is intertwined in a whirlwind of events and unfortunate Allen Walker has to unwind this tangle.
If you describe the main characters in full, I am afraid it will take too long. However, I will try to express my attitude towards them as fully as possible.
Allen Walker is a fifteen-year-old boy who has had too many trials. His strength of mind, kindness and warm smile always amazed. How can you maintain your composure in a war that has been going on for years and in which you have been confused since birth? Allen showed that one should not lose confidence and hope for victory. Especially when you have friends you can rely on.
Kanda Yuu - I didn't like this character at first. Too irritable, too secretive, too self-confident and stubborn. But, Gods! With each episode, I was convinced that at first glance it seems like a cold ice block, but the bones will lie behind the comrades! These are not empty words. His past has as many dark spots as the rest of the Black Order, who, believe me, have something to hide. Of course, the anime itself tells very little about his life WEB Order, so I recommend reading the manga. At the moment, this is not only my favorite character of Digray, but the entire anime in general.
Lavi - this character is a kind of "dark horse". At first glance, it seems that the red-haired historian, traveling with his teacher, is clean as a sheet of paper, but immersed in his past you can see many tragedies and wars that he has seen, but was unable to intervene, for the fate of the historian is very sad. This character is just a charge of unstoppable positive! One of his "Strike!" provides five minutes of uninterrupted laughter. His presence very dilutes the slightly gloomy atmosphere of the entire narrative.
I didn’t like this girl from the beginning. Her perpetual attempts to sacrifice herself for others are, of course, laudable. However, we must not forget that you are worried about and your rash actions can lead to the fact that people close to you will suffer.
Other members of the organization can be talked about endlessly. Crowley, Miranda, Komui, Buck, Marianne Cross (^_^) - all of them bring bright colors and emotions to the plot of DGray.
As a conclusion, I will say only one thing: this anime captured me literally from the first minutes and the best until I found it.
Good to see you!
For starters, I would never watch anime if it lasts more than 50-60 episodes. I don’t want to go into big things like that, because I know they’re going to grab it, and I’m going to end up wasting a lot of time watching it and finding out how it ended. To be honest, this is not a waste of time.
Like all anime, I started watching D. Gray-man a little bit. Then she got tired of it and left it until better times. Time passed and I missed you. And when I sat down to watch again, I just couldn’t come off and looked to the very end, not missing anything.
I won’t talk much about the main characters, just about Allen Walker and what he revealed to me. The character itself is quite harmless and simple, at least so it seems at first. As the plot progresses, he, like all his friends and those who are considered enemies, discover new facets of his character, temper and change. Although none of them seem to me to have what he has, which is fortitude and the desire to go forward no matter what. He may even be one foot in the grave. Even if he is exhausted and cannot stand on his feet, even if there is no hope of salvation, this character will still find the strength to move and protect those he loves. And it became such an attractive quality for me that I tried my best to adopt it. Moreover, it should be noted that this is not blind perseverance, nor the stubbornness of the egoist. It’s like having to become stronger not for yourself. And this desire settled inside a 15-year-old boy!
I want to say a little more about Pure Power. About the Force, which seems to have no desires and preferences, but later you realize that this is not quite so. As if a part of God is also interested in the victory of his master and obeys him, protects him.
And at the moment of greatest danger, when the lives of the main characters are at stake, each of them does not give up, because:
When everyone gets home, I’ll say ‘Welcome!’ and I’ll pat you on the shoulder. I will hold Linali tightly... And Allen will have a lot of delicious food. Lavi will probably go to bed and we'll cover him with a blanket. Adults will treat each other to wine. Then we go to bed and everything will be fine. And at the last minute, Kanda will appear with a sour mine on his face.

D.Gray-man was one of my first experiences in becoming an ardent anime fan. Amazingly, more than two years have passed, but I clearly remember the plot, characters, and features of each character, the atmosphere that reigned throughout the series, and the emotions that remain after watching this creation of art. Even now I feel a charming aftertaste.
You know what I love about anime? For this characteristic unrestrained sincerity, the most interesting plots, bright heroes, philosophy, stunning voice acting of characters for the fact that dozens of different genres can mix in one series, and they will never contradict each other, but organically complement one. And D.Gray-man is one of those. It so organically intertwined comedy and drama; the fight against evil and family values, friendship and devotion, anger and despair, battles and trials, pity and cruelty.
Characters are pleasing, too. We can talk about the main characters for a long time, but I will say only one thing: each of them is unique. In today’s anime industry involved a huge number of characters and because of this in many series, the characters differ only in eye color and hairstyle. But D.Gray-man does not apply to such anime. Each character is unique, multifaceted and different from others. Here and strong-willed protagonist Allen, rude Kanda, compassionate Linali, agile Lavi, clumsy Miranda, naive Crowley, too caring Komui, the seeker of Books, eternal debtor General Cross, deceiver Graf, extraordinary and cruel Road, duplicitous Tiki - in short, each character is truly unique.
If we talk about ' technical & #39; the side of the series, then it is about drawing and music, then everything is also done perfectly. Anime has great graphics and perfectly matched music. Also very pleased with the short scenes - the theater D.Gray-man', followed at the end of each series.
Perhaps, anime has only one disadvantage: it breaks off in the most interesting place. In general, D.Gray-man is an anime that draws and immerses the viewer in its charming and fascinating atmosphere, from the very first series. And this immersion will not let you go for all 103 episodes.
