The return of the green glutton The original Ghostbusters film was not only a fascinating, intriguing and compelling story, but also featured interesting characters who immediately fell in love with the public. Having the opportunity to carefully work out the script, Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis presented the audience with four extraordinary heroes who were remembered both for their catchy appearance and character. The ironic jovial Peter Wenkman behaved more like a showman than a scientist, but it was his behavior that stood out among colleagues and attracted attention. In turn, Egon Spengler tried to always remain calm in everything, since science was important to him, to the mercy of which he essentially devoted his entire personal life. No less interesting was the image of Ray Stentz, which Aykroyd prescribed for himself. Being a good-natured guy and a guy to rely on in any situation, Stenz also possessed extensive engineering knowledge, organically complementing the work of Spengler’s colleague. Finally, the fourth member of the invincible team was Winston Zedmorr, who may not have been a scientist, but without hesitation got involved in any supernatural brawl, standing shoulder to shoulder with the rest of his comrades in arms until the very end. Each of the characters of the film had enough screen time to reveal their strengths, and although the most attention was focused on Peter Wenkman due to his catchy behavior and the popularity of actor Bill Murray, who played the hero, it is not that the rest of the guys were aloof from true fame. And even more, the secondary characters and ghosts that created the volume of the story and played along with the main characters, so loved by the public that they were later considered simply indispensable for all stories. Among such characters, one can especially note the secretary Janine, the accountant Louis, as well as the voracious ghost of Lizun, who had very little screen time, but was remembered by absolutely everyone.
The first meeting with Lizun occurred at the moment when the ghost hunters received a call to one of the respectable hotels in New York, where, in fact, there was a ghost. Behaving inappropriately and looking for any food that can only be found and absorbed, Lizun seriously scared the administration of the institution, which had no other options than to call the guys with backpacks behind them and blasters in their hands. Although Lizun was not the most formidable ghost imaginable, his capture proved to be a daunting task. Having destroyed at least half of the banquet hall, the Ghostbusters were still able to capture the voracious ghost, after which they placed him in a special vault, where he, it would seem, should remain forever, but fate ordered something different about our green comrade. In the break between the release of the main films of the series on television, the premiere of the animated series “Real Ghostbusters” took place, where one of the leading roles was taken by Lizuna, who brought humor to the story and in general was one of those characters in the film that deserved much more attention from an inspired audience. Finally, after a couple of seasons of the animated series, the popularity of the green ghost became so great that he took his own project, called Lizun! And the real ghost hunters.
As for the plot of this, although not the most obligatory, but rather funny and pleasant animated series, then, as you can guess, its title character is Lizun himself, who is firmly registered in the building of the former fire station and as he could, so helped ghost hunters in their investigations. However, due to his voraciousness and desire to get involved in some adventure, Lizun periodically goes on his own adventures, where he has to meet both new friends and insidious enemies. Trying to find means for food and trying not to steal it, so as not to defame the name of his older comrades, Lizun gets close to the driver of the ice cream truck Chilli Cooper, the Italian chef Luigi, the owner of the restaurant Rafael, the hotel manager Morris, as well as the messenger Bud. And let everyone at first be curious to communicate with such an extraordinary comrade, but soon everyone gets used to Lizun, especially in the restaurant and hotel, where they appreciated the friendship with ghosts. However, do not forget that Lizun is still a ghost, and it is logical that someone obsessively wants to get his hands on him.
Frankly eccentric, but at the same time very talented scientist, Professor Norman Dwib, dreams of becoming famous no less than ghost hunters and believes that the long-awaited recognition he can give experiments on Lizun. The seriousness of his intentions is confirmed by the use of technologies that are very similar to those developed by Egon Spengler and Ray Stenz, but the obsessive desire to catch a ghost turns into only disappointments for the professor. But even though he is constantly unlucky, Dwib continues to hunt the ghost and thus does not allow Lizun to fully relax. In addition, in addition to the maniacally pursuing Professor Lizun, the ghost develops a frankly difficult relationship with the street cat Manx, the formidable Mrs. Stone and even two ghosts whose manners leave much to be desired. But even with such an abundance of opponents, Lizun has someone to rely on, because despite his gluttony, he remains a good guy who still does more good things than a bully.
The animated series about Lizun lasted less on the air than True Ghostbusters and was for the most part perceived by both its creators and viewers as a comic addition to the main story. Lizun's adventures were mainly built on various gags with falls, as well as other simple jokes. Of course, such animated sketches were not very interesting to the adult audience, and even “Real Ghostbusters” caused her much more attention, and nevertheless it should be noted that the animated series about Lizun did a good job in order to entertain children and subsequently instill in them a love for the franchise, which had simply incredible entertainment potential. And in order to more closely connect the events of “Lizun” with the ordinary “Ghostbusters”, the authors periodically recalled Wenkman, Spengler, Stenz and Zeddmore, who sometimes appeared in the frame in order to remind where exactly the roots of the project grow, and who should not be forgotten.
Finally, I want to say that Lizun! And True Ghostbusters is a completely optional but rather cute animated series that charmingly complements other Ghostbusters stories. And even though Lizun’s adventures are primarily aimed at a children’s audience, this is still a competent and correct decision, replenishing the army of fans of the franchise with new viewers.
