A shrill, unlike other film about a girl sniper It’s a shame that this film has been neglected. But I consider it one of the best modern films about the Second World War, including about a woman in war.
Yes, there are no large-scale battles, action, pathos. Budget. But that's his dignity. The main story in the film is primarily the story of a sniper girl who was broken by the war, but did not break. I generally believe that a high-quality film about the war for budget films – no one chases box office, making money and trying to wipe the nose of the “wrong” movies. The goal is different.
Watching the film, I unwittingly compared it to The Battle of Sevastopol (2015). Perhaps "Attention" was an example for the future film. But only in "Battle" did I see a female robot with a frozen face. And in the "Attention" in the main character Slava - a defenseless girl and a brave fighter. This is one of the few films where women’s psychology is revealed. The main character is tormented by fears and guilt. And at the same time, she's tough and stubborn. And yet, how vulnerable she is to personal grief, how she needs support and love.
And how perfectly combined such a controversial, strong and gentle actress Olga Vechkileva. I remember her from the movie “Wished”. It’s amazing how it fits perfectly at the time. It's right there.
In the film, new, unused themes are voiced. For example, about cases of falsification in order to raise the spirit of soldiers. An interesting topic is the concept of truth - in our time it remains relevant to this day.
I want to emphasize that the film was made in 2005 before the emergence of patriotic hysteria. You feel behind the film soulfulness, individuality, novelty.
And the title song performed by Svetlana Ryabova is something wonderful. How much sadness, tenderness and trembling she has. Bravo!
