Obscurantism and jazz. I don’t remember how I came to see this film, but the attitude towards it is too negative. Not even the film, but its creator. Bruce La Bruce is not a particularly outstanding director and his work is definitely an amateur, but Otto seems to be raw and not properly assembled. The film should be reduced by 40 minutes, and the episodes with the girl-director, so generally removed in a separate film. Part of it is very distracting. Her thoughts on life look like empty chatter and have nothing to do with Otto.
Of course, it's all individual. Positive reviews with a score of 10 points just scare me. The whole movie, and only the scene with the awareness of the main character as a mentally ill person, can be evaluated by another two points from above. Everything else is soulless sex and empty chatter. I am glad that Otto himself was revealed to us. It was his line that impressed me. When everything came together, I had no questions, no negative thoughts about him. The rest of the characters just interfered with the whole film.
I don’t want to watch this movie, just a few positive reviews. Yes, and for people who are not used to watching such a thrash, it is generally worth bypassing the name of La Bruce by the side.
Erotic film with interesting scenes and a good main character. Definitely an amateur.
