Old school reviews of Zombiona! It's not Pitkin.
Mr. Pitkin: The girl on board
To be honest, I don’t think this film is a masterpiece. I can even say that I don’t like this movie. It just so happened that I wanted to write about all the movies where the character Pitkin is present, and this film I watched later than all the other films. I just want to say good-bye to my favorite character, so my grade will be maximum, but it’s made up of other paintings. So...
In this film, I immediately noticed a catch, because all the pictures about Pitkin were shot at the Rank Organization studio, and this film was made with the support of United Artists. One of the founders of this studio was Charles Chaplin. And all the films about Pitkin were directed by John Paddy Castairs, and then Robert Asher. The film was directed by Henry Kaplan (who is this?). And in this movie, the main character's name is Sam!
So if you want to see the real Pitkin, you can watch other Norman Wisdom movies, and this one is simply called The Girl on Board. Almost the entire film, actor Norman Wisdom will play such a prim Englishman who will one day fall in love with a blonde on a ship and will molest her throughout the film. There are very few funny moments in the film, but there will be many boring ones. This film can be called completely conversational (and this is his main mistake), but actor Norman Wisdom was always known for being able to fall somewhere or make a funny grimace, so you can already judge the quality of this film. Wisdom is going to be annoying the whole movie. Among all the works of Wisdom (about Pitkin), many viewers ignore this film.
This is my last review of actor Norman Wisdom and I'm a little sad to end on such a negative note, but I can tell you Norman Wisdom is a genius lyceum and an incredibly powerful comedian. In his best films (Troubles in the shop, Pitkin in the hospital, Pitkin upside down, Early Bird, etc.) he laughed so much that all the other comedians led by my beloved Charlie Chaplin could only envy him. I love this Englishman with a clumsy grin and will always love him.
