Hello, mr. Norman! I have two feelings right now.
When I first watched Caliph for an Hour, I was immensely happy and considered this comedy the best in the world. And I laughed godlessly. Now, after the second time and already in English, I am confused: the former fun is no longer there. Still grimaces Norman funny, he still sings beautifully and his all the same partners on the set can not but please, but something is not the same. And there was less humor for me. And there is no more fire of joy at the sight of this little man - the king of world comedy.
Probably this is because it has only been 2 years since the first viewing, and not 10, 20 years. Probably because I have reviewed all the films with Pitkin for these 2 years and there is nothing to surprise me. Probably because "caliph for an hour" became for me a secondary ... Probably because something is not so interesting to watch when you do not quite understand the language spoken in the film.
But I don’t want to judge this film and this great comedian of all time for my second time. For me, Norman Wisdom is still unique and unsurpassed. For me, he is the most fun and the best. So did his films. And if you love comedies, but have never seen a movie with him, then I feel sorry for you.
So you are not yet familiar with the most grandiose merry man from the magical world of cinema.
You need to know the king in person!
Norman Wisdon was scoffed at in the '60s and scowled, as you can see, even now that he is not with us. But his films are an eternal memory of him, of this easygoing, sincere and kind man in an old poor clumsy suit with a cap on the slop.
Someone burns through life without a trace, and someone gives good joy to people thanks to his painstaking work and original talent.
For Norman Wizdom! For my first impression! To the best actor-comedian on the planet! For his kindest, sweetest and fun movies on earth!
