The story of one holiday... Desertion... This is a p(r) concession from which he himself is ashamed, not to mention that the end of this is inevitable and severe. And our hero instead of anxiety and fear raises his head even more terrible apathy – an indispensable companion of military vacation. He doesn’t hide that he is on vacation. And during military service, there is nothing worse than a vacation (who served, will understand) - you sit yourself, you can not plan anything, because you understand that there is nowhere to go, that sooner or later you need to return.
From the first minutes of his vacation, he understands that life goes on without him - the girl found another, her mother and father went to rest, her brother makes repairs to the house. The only one who cares about him is his brother’s friend.
Trine Durholm, who, effortlessly (which will be desperate but, in my opinion, unsuccessful to do 17 years later in The Queen of Hearts) takes all the attention of the viewer on herself, not to mention the poor guy who has not seen women in months. And he has a certain goal, the point is not to live a vacation in vain and go back.
