Don't sit on the corner - bad luck. TV series based on Tatiana Ustinova’s novels have long formed a special genre of detective melodrama, in the plot of which the crime is opposed by the intellect and sensuality of the main characters. What extraordinary pairs formed around her intriguing narratives (!) But only in the cinema, these couples appear before the viewer firsthand, allowing you to enjoy the authenticity of human feelings, the truth of human relationships, and the power of attraction of the love of deserving people.
In this story it is Stepanov and Inga Arnoldovna (Sergey Gorobchenko and Natalia Lesnikovsky), as well as in a less convincing, but also extremely felt version - Sasha Voloshin and Chernov (Anastasia Busygina and Oleg Makarov)...
Actually, the detective line of the plot is built well, generally corresponds to the spirit of the book. Recognition of psychological portraits of each of the characters without distortions from the book were included in the film. In the selection of all actors, I believe, skill is shown, the characters from the novel seem to come to life on the screen and remain in memory for a long time. Faces, hairstyles, costumes, interiors. Of the episodic roles, it is especially worth noting the investigator Nikonenko (Dzhemal Tetruashvili), the leader of the protesting grandmothers (Sergey Stepin) and Chernov's wife - Valya (Lyudmila Zagorskaya).
And yet... This review was written thanks to scenes with the magnificent Natalia Lesnikovsky. Episodes with her participation are a real decoration of the film. The plasticity, the emotional precision in every scene adds to the film’s special magnetism of true ascent.
The film is worth watching not only for those who understand and appreciate the books of T. Ustinova, but also for those who love melodrama as an independent genre.
