In the mid-2000s, the old Disney lived out its final days. The era of voluminous animation began, and as the last throw we saw the sequels of classic cartoons: "The Jungle Book", "101 Dalmatians", "Mulan", etc. But although the influence of fashion on the sequels in many cases is obvious, it was with “Bamby” that the situation was right for the second part, since the plot gap in the middle of the original is a very noticeable omission.
Despite the fact that animation has become more computer, the artists managed to re-transmit the extraordinary beauty of the forest. Where necessary, we feel the volume, and again we can enjoy a stunning palette of colors. If you like forest ecosystems, you’ll like what the prince says about how he feels about the forest. The character designs are reproduced very carefully, and you will surely be glad that the funny owl and the prince of the forest interact with each other and generally appear more often than in the first part.
However, the plot idea of the sequel does not look so intriguing. It's not just that we know the ending ("Bamby 2" is essentially a midquel), but that this cartoon raises the problem of fathers and children - something that in 90% of cases American directors failed. Here we have a very tense conflict, the reason for which lies in the fact that two characters do not know how to disclose their thoughts. It doesn't matter who is in front of us. Father and son, teacher and student, seller and buyer – the essence of the fact that there are two different views on the situation, and nothing prevents this situation to discuss. Why isn't that happening? This is the most common question that arises when watching American films. There is another drawback, even more serious: the contradiction with the first part when it comes to the age of the prince. Apparently, it's not that ancient. Sorry! To imagine him wise years was interesting. It is also a bit puzzling to mention tigers that have never been seen in North America.
But still, I don’t blame Bambi 2, because its main task – to fill the gap in the original – it copes. There are sad, funny and even frightening moments here. Which, of course, are associated with the most creepy species on the planet - man. Thank you very much for the underwater scenes. They are few, but they are very beautiful! But the first part is a little better.
The first part of the story about Bambi came out in 1942 and the continuation had to wait 64 years. If you think about it, it's just incredible. Over this period, more than one generation has changed and completely different people have worked on the project. But the most amazing thing is that the continuation was successful. I sincerely believe that we got a decent development, but about everything in more detail.
The plot starts right at the end of the first tape, so if you haven’t seen the original and vaguely remember it, I’d recommend revisiting it. The main emphasis in the history was made on the development of the relationship between Bambi and his father, as well as on the growing up of a deer. I can say that this is the right choice, because it is quite logical and fits perfectly into the narrative. Bambi’s character hasn’t changed much, but in the course of the action he begins to gain courage and understanding of the world. And at the same time, we are shown how important it is to have a foothold and to have someone who will give us support and guide us on the right path. And that no circumstances should be more important than relatives. I also liked the fact that there was enough time for friendship in the movie. It is also an important backbone, which makes the picture better. And all this made it possible to create a very touching and cute tape.
I also want to praise the animators. They tried to combine the old style of the original and add a modern drawing. And as a result, we have beautiful landscapes in artistic style and beautifully animated characters. And maybe it looks a little simple, but perhaps there is some ease and uniqueness in this. And in addition, we have several compositions that complement the entire fabulous atmosphere of the work.
Over. If you saw the first cartoon and were delighted, then I am sure the continuation will not disappoint you. Many stylistic solutions are preserved here, and a competent approach to the development of history is also used. Therefore, I can recommend the tape for viewing and it is best to watch the whole family, for a stronger effect.

Everyone knows that in the last decade, Disney “pleases” us with film remakes of its own classic cartoons, which are time-lapse copiers, but look much poorer than the original. However, in the 1990s, the situation was different. We were gifted with endless sequels, prequels and midquels of classic cartoons, which were produced by the Australian studio DisneyToon (1990-2018). Their creations were mixed. Some sequels were good and not even inferior to the original (continuations of Aladdin, the Lion King, Peter Pan), some were mediocre and faded (continuations of Fox and Dog, 101 Dalmatians, Lady and Tramps). So this studio in 2006. made a sequel to “Bamby”, thereby setting a record between the original and the sequel – 64 years! How, probably, the old people rejoiced, whose "Bamby" was a cartoon of childhood and they saw the continuation. Seriously, Bambi 2 is a great cartoon and sequel.
The name of Bambi 2 is not entirely correct. Since the animated film starts from the moment when Bambi’s mother was killed and tells what happened next, how Bambi established a relationship with his father.
The main advantage of the cartoon is that it is very interesting, beautiful, kind and instructive. The creators of the cartoon are great at coming up with a new story and raised an important topic – the relationship between fathers and children. In the original 1942 animated film, the plot as such was not, we just watched the life of the inhabitants of the forest. Here, we see the lives of the forest dwellers, but we also see how the relationship between father and son develops. Bambi wants to be like her father and tries to imitate everything, while torn between the duties of the prince and the childish character. His father is torn between his love for his son and the duty of the ruler of the forest, whose status does not allow him to think only of his child. And it's done very well.
One of the advantages that animators of the XXI century. in contrast to their colleagues from the XX century. were not limited in technical means. Therefore, if Bambi’s father hardly appeared in the original, because his horns were difficult to draw, then here he is the acting character and the creators showed him well. They perfectly revealed that parents are not always right, and if they want to connect with children, they need to understand children, not just point them out. It seems that morality is not new, but it is never too late to repeat it.
By the way, the creators of the cartoon revealed another character. That evil deer Ronno, who in the original tried to squeeze Bambi's female. Here he is shown as a spoiled child who tries to assert himself at the expense of other animals.
Animation. On the one hand, the creators cheated. Unlike the original, where all landscapes were painted in hand, here the forest is made using a computer. On the other hand, did the cartoon look worse? Nope! The film is made in a drawing style and still looks great. Even more so, it became brighter. All the animals are amazingly drawn and since the creators were not limited in anything, the cartoon became more mobile. It's just aesthetically pleasing to watch.
Bambi 2 may be a commercial product, but this is the case when you see that the creators really paid respect to the original. “Bamby 2” is not only not worse than the original, but on the contrary, it is also beautiful, kind and looks like the original. This cartoon can be watched right after the first cartoon and it will look just as great.

It so happened that the continuation of the cartoon childhood “Bamby” – not to mention watching it – I learned relatively recently, that is, already in adolescence. It was only after revisiting the 1942 cartoon that I realized that there really is a temporary gap in it that you don’t pay attention to at the age of five or seven. Interested, I watched the continuation.
What can I say... This is the rare case when the sequel is no worse than its predecessor (although in fact it is not a sequel, but an addition to the first film). What got into the cartoon? Graphics, music and landscapes. Familiar since childhood heroes are revealed in a new, augmented image, from which for an hour you can not take your eyes off. The cartoon fascinates with its beauty and some childish naivety inherent in the world of Bambi. All the same characters, all the same landscapes and the same story of the lost deer, here found a father – and himself. Could Bambi, raised by his mother, make the dogs run after him, taking them away from almost caught prey? No, it's my father's work. It was the Grand Duke who awakened in his son courage, honor, nobility. It was thanks to his father that at the end of the 1942 cartoon we saw the prince of the forest, who deserves to be his Prince.
Beloved since childhood, Topotun and Flowers remain the same restless - laughed at them from the heart!) And the new hero – the Grand Duke – liked everyone: and drawing, and character, and voice – Sergei Chonishvili fit in here as best as possible. It is a pity that in the first film this character appeared so little. But in the second, he came out one hundred!
For the gift of a ray of light that carries this kind cartoon - 10 out of 10.
P.S. Special thanks to the creators for the extraordinary music.
After a bitter winter, only a more beautiful spring.
And the song will turn sorrow.
Even if it is not visible.
Life is alive.
Hundreds of colors are born out of darkness.
You will find a song only in silence.
And our dreams are hidden for the time being.
This is life! . . << /i>
At the beginning of the two thousandth studio Disney almost did not create original cartoons, completely focusing on the sequels and prequels of their classic masterpieces. Not bypassed this take into account the famous deer - Bambi.
The action of the cartoon takes place in a very difficult period for a deer after the death of her mother. Bambi's father took custody. A deer child needs to work hard to earn the approval of a harsh parent. This period will bring a lot of new things, not just Bambi. Who will learn fatherly wisdom. But his father will learn a lot from his restless son.
The story told in the film is not a sequel, but reveals a previously unknown chapter in the life of the famous deer. The story, of course, does not reach the original. However, despite this, the cartoon turned out to be interesting and exciting.
The cartoon is made in the best traditions of Disney classics. The picture has an interesting plot, beautiful animation, cute characters and great music.
Bambi 2 is a beautiful fairy tale that will appeal to both children and older viewers. Good to see you!
It is difficult to say whether the cartoon "Bambi-2" continuation of the classic cartoon "Disney" or not. Rather, a deepening into the original picture of 1942. As we remember, the first part ended with the fact that the adult Bambi had children. Here we meet again with the same baby as in the first cartoon.
The main topic is the problem of fathers and children. Little Bambi after the death of his mother at all costs decides to be like his father, the real Prince of the forest. His father is the epitome of greatness, of true masculinity and, I would say, grace. Accustomed to maternal caress, Bambi at first can not understand what it is like to be the owner of the forest and protect the rights of its inhabitants, but in the end, looking at the wise father, he increasingly becomes like him. Moreover, it even surpasses (the moment when he jumps over a huge chasm). The father sees this and praises his son with the words, "At my age I couldn't do this." These words stimulate the little deer to become even more courageous and braver than the Prince. However, due to his age, he does not always get it.
Indirectly, the first “teenage” problems are also affected: the transformation from “boy” to “man” (the moment when Bambi has small horns) and, of course, the first kiss.
However, despite all these charms, the most beloved character of the cartoon I have is a surprisingly funny rabbit who hates playing with his sisters. Topotun is characterized, first of all, by such a feeling as devotion to his best friends (Bambi and Flower skunk), and only then to his young and playful bunny sisters.
This is a great movie to watch for the whole family! In my opinion, an order of magnitude higher than the classic first cartoon about Bambi.

This cartoon attracted me the most because it is a continuation of the cartoon released 64 years ago. They're generations of kids! The first “Bambi” was watched by post-war children.
The sequel to Bambi was built as a continuation of the cartoons Fox and the Dog or Beauty and the Beast, that is, as if not shown earlier fragments of the first part. There were no children like the Little Mermaid or the Lady and the Tramp. Moreover, Bambi remained a deer during the second series, that is, the continuation story covers the Bambi period even earlier than the first cartoon ended.
Frankly, the cartoon is not the most interesting. Almost half was about nothing. But I loved that it began with the saddest and most memorable episode of 1942's "Bamby," when his mother died.
Somewhere in the middle of the picture it became clear what it was about. About the relationship of a deer with his father, the noble prince of the forest, who does not run, jump, smile, absolutely does not support Bambi in such a difficult time for him.
There are times when you can cry and cry. Continuation does not seem superfluous at all. Just another episode from Bambi's childhood that... unfortunately, not all of his fans saw.
In 1942, for contemporaries, 2006 is something of a fantasy. There's no such thing as numbers! And I'm glad I'm alive now. And if I had watched Bambi in the '40s and someone from the future told me when the sequel was coming out, I would have been darkened for the rest of my life by the unfairness of the message. From knowing now a date I'm not likely to live to see. It’s like knowing now that Baby 3 will be out in 2070. And that there was a more profound unfolding of, say, his love story with a girl or something. I'm glad I don't know that.
I recently learned about this cartoon. Naturally, with the original masterpiece we all know from childhood. But the second part (at least for the Russian audience) went completely unnoticed. For example, I found out about it just a month ago, when I read a Wikipedia article about the original film, came across a mention of a sequel. I read an article about the sequel (although what a sequel it is), realized that the second part will show the story of Bambi’s relationship with his father after the death of his mother.
You can throw tomatoes at me, but the second part was much sweeter and more touching than the first. The first part was a strong animated drama. The second also has a dramatic slant, but it shows what is missing in the original adaptation of Felix Zalten's book - how Bambi grew up without his mother, who raised him, how his relationship with his father, who in the original film devoted only a few episodes. And the most important thing is that you can make sure that the Grand Duke is alive and can also feel, while in the original film he appeared before us as an “iron” deer uncle who does not show emotions.
In conclusion, I will just say that I really liked the picture. The story is very touching, sweet, kind, takes by the soul and does not let go until the very end. I recommend everyone to watch!
