Listen to me, turtles. I have always taught you to look deeper to see the hidden truth. Believe your eyes, listen to the voice of your heart. If your doubts do not dissipate, do as you wish with me.
Oh. My God. Did I see something I don’t know why I watched for a long time? I have only mastered the fourth season inclusive, which consisted of more than 50 episodes. And sorry, nostalgic comrades, but "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" 1987 - it's ...
When April just takes a step and she's screaming for help.
This is when during an epic makhach heroes bazaar right and left.
This is when Biboba and Rocksteady, sorry, weed the whole series.
This is when one / one and the same frame / frames use more than 30 seconds.
This is when you know during a fight that no one will even touch anyone, until at some point one of the turtles does not prescribe from the foot to the dude! And you're like, "Impossible..."
This is when on the next series there was a “budget cut”.
This is when, "Turtles fight with honor!" * Assault by four*
This is when Shredder washes away at the first danger.
And of course, this is when April, tits and Technodrome ...
And honestly, I didn't get into these turtles as a kid, even though I had a whole tape of them! This is the first time I’ve seen them and as you can see, I didn’t like them. I know these are the first TV turtles, but shit! They're not cool turtles. After all, they are aimed at children’s audience and even in the wrong direction (in terms of development). Everything turned out naive, banal and even played! Although, the comic that they took the idea from was noir, serious and all that. But! You have to get the TV off your knees!
And yes, no, no, no, no, no! And -- probably not! What can I do? I didn't like it.
Toys and video games are better than the series itself.
As a child, I wanted to watch Ninja Turtles in 2003, but came across a disc with turtles in 1987. What a disappointment, well, I still began to watch, even if these were not the turtles I was waiting for.
Many episodes are virtually unrelated and can be watched in any order (which I did as a child). However, there were series where Technodrome was in different parts of the world and I was not clear how he got there. And the returns of some characters were also unclear, because I saw them for the first time.
I watched all 193 episodes and 10 seasons.
What can I say?
Season 1 is good. The first series in it was made by the anime studio Toei Animation, known (as in general, so among studio fans) for the anime Dragon Pearls, Beauty Warrior Sailor Moon, Van Pis, Adventures of Digimons, Good Medicine, Mononoke, Jokes of the crazy capital and many other anime.
Seasons 2-7 are watchable. There are boring series, but where without them?
The mini-season "Journey to Europe" is terrifying. I don’t know why this mini-season had to be done, as if the creators ran out of ideas.
Seasons 8-10 (Red Sky) is a complete failure. The animated series for children suddenly becomes serious, instead of the usual villains (Shredder, Krang, Bebop, Rocksteady) they were replaced by some boring uncharismatic Lord Dregga. Carter (a new ally of the turtles) also appeared. Did the creators decide April wasn't enough?
In short, if possible, it would be better to finish the series after season 7, and better - after the first.
I watched Turtles 2003 for most of my childhood, but I watched Turtles 1987 as well. And what I can say is that it's not so clear.
The series was originally created as an advertisement for toys, and this is noticeable.
Characters, for the most part, are not multifaceted. They have one character trait that they follow throughout the series.
This is especially bad for the turtles themselves. If in the 2003 version their characters were well spelled out, in the Nickelodian version they had one character trait, elevated to absolute, in the Turtles of 1987 all have one trait for four. Seriously, take the script, delete the names from it, and you will hardly understand who is who.
April holds a special place for me. The sex symbol of all the boys of that time, for me, was always a dummy, who had nothing hidden behind the forms, a typical lady in trouble.
But this is not a problem of a particular series, this is a problem of that time. Then the children's action series were made under the blueprint. The main characters are mischievous fools, villains-scoundrels who are like that because life is like that. And like the cherry on the lady cake in trouble, which can be replaced with a board with nailed boobs.
But then the task of the series was a little different. They were supposed to be entertaining, and in this case, all is well. The series is not boring, looks easy and performs its main task on a solid four.
And finally, I want to touch on our dubbing. Looking forward to the bucket of sludge that's going to spill on me, but I'll still say our dubbing is total rubbish. Turtles don’t sound like teenagers, or at least like young people, but like adults who try to speak in a childish voice. I'm not talking about the chorus, it's terrible. Not as terrible as the opening of Turtles 2003, but still.
To sum up, I don’t consider this series the best turtles, but the worst, too. Still, the 2003 version is more mature, elaborate and interesting. And the version from Nickelodeion is so bad that even such a simple series as the Turtles 1987 quietly spit it out.
Although these Turtles are not a standard for me, I understand why many people love them so much. They have a unique charm that works even now. And if you like it, then I hope you don't take this review as a bayonets, just read it and take it as another opinion of an Internet dude.
'Teenage Ninja Turtles'... So much warmth in that word; beloved childhood heroes. Probably every boy who has found the 90s, dreamed of collecting a full collection of cassettes from EA, and to find out - will the green heroes of the treacherous Shredder win? After 15 years of my life, I succeeded!
This series is the first adaptation of the comics of the same name, published since 1984. The authors of the comic book - Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird created a non-trivial universe with no less non-trivial main characters, in addition, led by a rat.
Naturally, it is impossible to pass by such a tasty piece, and the audience is hungry for spectacles; therefore, the animated series 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' appears in the light, namely in December 1987. What else would a fan want? Probably nothing. But, nevertheless, having absorbed the characters of the comics, the cartoon is strikingly different from the original source, and this is perhaps one of its main problems.
And this is exactly the case when the transformation from one format to another leads to the loss of the message. The original comics are a tough epic about the difficult fight against crime, and the personification of evil - Shredder. While this work is a sitcom walk with the main jester and pathological loser (Schredder), to the accompaniment of clinical idiots, Bebop and Rocksteady. Somewhere there flies creative impotence in the face of April - the main supplier of events of the series throughout the seasons. If you are too lazy to strain and come up with more or less original plot plot plot plots - make April shoot a report! And if the first four seasons of this can be taken sanely, then imagine that you are watching the fiasco & #39; Iron Banks' (this is how the main antagonist of the series is called - a cruel terrorist) under the air of April for almost 200 episodes. As a person who has done exactly that, I will say – even having made a discount, they say, it came out 31 years ago, get rid of the idea that this mess does not come out.
I am well aware that the slightest hint of cruelty, influence on mood, and - bang!; access to the series is closed (by the vigilant hand of a parent guarding his child from harmful information), and this, therefore, is a loss and the closure of the series. This, in my opinion, was one of the key reasons why the series is the way it is: cheerful, welcoming and instructive (although the morality in the series is extremely straightforward). It so happened that recently I watched another cartoon of my childhood - Disney & #39; Adventures of Mishek-Gummy & #39; But, even 'Bears-Gummy' looking is not so pretentiously stupid, because 'Bears' is a good old fairy tale about kings, forest and other paraphernalia. Turtles, in turn, are a modern sci-fi fighter, and these are no longer fairy tales. Donatello's inventions are a separate occasion for a tirade of misunderstanding, but it is not worth it.
In addition to the mentioned bedlam with Shredder, everything is too cardboard for the animated series of the late 80s. Teenage turtle conflicts and crises are a puff solved by one small event. Yes, the series lasts 20 minutes, and it is difficult to develop a deep line, but, for example, Leonardo's stated leadership is only words spoken by turtles. Leonardo is in charge and everything is there, although I did not see any clear background to this. One has only to look at the front pages of the comic book to see if the story could be deeper and more dramatic.
It wasn’t until season 8 (1994) that there was some change in concept, and at first it seems like a fresh breath for the series, but by the end of the season, the effect is gone and you’re once again alone with superficial plots, absurd situations and so on. The 9th and 10th seasons are dedicated to one villain, and the insignificance of Shredder reaches its climax - now he is a pawn, popped up for 2-3 episodes. That is how, or more precisely, in no way, the story of the confrontation between Shredder and the Turtles ends. The final episode of the 9-year-old series is a completely banal episode that flies into the void.
Moreover, there is dissonance, if you think about the existence of the animated series of 2003, which, in my opinion, strikes a balance between entertainment for children of primary school age and a teenager of 15 years. You can refer to the fact that the animated film was released 7 years after the closing 'hero' this review, but I think the problem here is not the release date. Dramaturgy and working with characters is not an invention of the late 90s.
Of course, watching a series like this at 10 and 22 is not the same, but for comparison, watching some of the TV shows of my childhood again, I did not see much difference. Batman of the Future, Gargoyles and other series, even the classic good Disney animated series that influenced me in the most sensitive periods of my life, and now look quite serious and independent works. I cannot say the same about my favorite heroes of my childhood, they must remain in the past, even though I love them.
This review is not an attempt to discredit the series, it is an important milestone of our childhood, which I would not trade for anything, but the feeling, alas, is completely different. I say ' Turtles' 1987: ' thank you' bow to the ground, and say: ' Goodbye'!
Oh, yeah, I just love "Turtles."
Absolutely brilliant thrash animated series. It's stupid, it's poorly drawn, it's impossible for an adult to see it - because it's so stupid and so badly drawn, but it's genius. This is the perfect cartoon for younger teens (at least for younger teens of my generation). I'm going to try to develop this idea.
I watched it three times, but not all three times. These were three very different experiences.
The first time I was little. And I loved turtles (especially Leonardo and Donatello), Master Splinter seemed to me a storehouse of wisdom, I hated Shredder and I was afraid of Krang. And to be honest, I was relatively indifferent to the series.
The third time I watched it (a few episodes, I couldn't bear it anymore) was as an adult. Unbearable, as I said before.
The second time, I was a teenager. I happened to see a replay of the series on TV. And I was just fanatical. I recorded every episode on a VCR because they were coming when I was in school. I watched them when I came from school, first of all, almost screaming with delight.
The jokes in the series are completely incomprehensible to a child, too stupid for an adult, but perfect for teenagers. I laughed from them to tears.
I was already funny turtles, and teacher Splinter was directly infuriating with his pathos and conceit. But the villains ... in general, the second time I rooted for the bad. Of course, they lost over and over again - and the more I loved them, because they did not give up and invented a new dirty trick.
I fell in love with Shredder. Even now I love him a little bit, Oroku Saki, the master ninja. I suddenly realized he was beautiful. Hot black eyes, eyebrows flying, strong legs of impeccable shape. Without a mask, he was also good, although he rarely took it off. He not only knew how to fight, he knew biotechnology (mutagens and everything) and loved the beautiful (collected Chinese vases). He was cheeky and mocking. Inhumanly power-hungry. He was a posh loser, like the classic Enemy. But he had a mother, a brutal grandmother who tried to get him to start smoking, whom he feared, and a brother, a police lieutenant, whom he despised. He was slightly infatuated with April O’Neal, and he was very, very caring (although he scolded them on what the light was worth) to his mutant henchmen Bebop and Roxtedy – always getting them out of trouble and sometimes fraternally, almost in a hug, watching TV with them. And with Krang they fought - it was kind of expensive to see, they had a direct struggle for power. They also respect each other.
This was probably the first time I had done a complete psychological analysis of a fictional character without thinking about it. I understood Shredder completely, I knew him as a close person. And as I later realized, this would not have happened if Shredder's image had been poorly crafted. He is completely trustworthy psychologically, despite the fantasticity of his skills and history. In pressured parents, children with strong character become either equally pressured or nihilist (Schredder), and children with weak character become conformal (his brother). After all, the creators of the cartoon did not drive a hack. No wonder I remember all of this now, even though it’s been over ten years.
This ability to conduct a psychological analysis of fictional personalities is very useful to me now.
In general, not even wanting to evaluate this cartoon (unlike many, it was an important part of the formation of my personality, and not just a work that I loved – it is impossible to evaluate), I give it the maximum “ten”. Just because you have to express love somehow.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,
Heroes in a half shell
Turtle power.
That is how the musical screensaver for the now legendary cartoon about four brave turtles and their teacher rat, every day saving the world, opened. In our age, it is difficult to surprise the modern child with the level of drawing or animation, today, the child is spoiled by the quality of animated paintings, because they are sometimes spent no less money than on full-length feature films.
Turtles to me at that time were like a breath of air, I caught them on TV channels at any time, whether it was early morning or late evening, they were a luxury.
Plot? I don’t know a person who hasn’t heard anything at all about green guys with colored headbands, hasn’t watched movies or played games based on a cartoon.
For those who do not know anything about our heroes, I will briefly try to tell you.
Four mutant turtles do nothing but save our seedy world from the hands of bloodthirsty villains - a former ninja Schroeder, who once betrayed their teacher, and a large brain (!) named Krang. Spouses are in another dimension relative to our planet, but regularly cause a fair amount of trouble. The characters of villains are written out to envy today’s animators – they are smart, quirky, and can laugh at themselves. Schroeder, personally in my opinion, is perhaps one of the most cute villains in the history of animation.
Green friends in their free days, train in the Manhattan sewers so as not to embarrass the civilian population, they are friendly, communicate with the local press and just love to eat pizza.
The new ninjas are named after Renaissance artists. Everyone has different characters, so Leonardo is a recognized leader, in his hands is a ninjato sword. Raphael uses daggers - sai. Donatello is an amateur scientist, and my favorite hero, wields a sixth-bo. Michelangelo is the main fun guy in the team, owns a pair of nunchucks. Friends do not take courage and courage, in place and pleasant humor.
The drawing of the characters is made at a high level, small details, shadows, movements of the characters, everything is done perfectly.
In a separate line, I want to say warm words to the actors of the dubbing - without you, the legendary images would not be complete. .
Verdict: not an aging classic, a cartoon that fell in love with millions of children around the world and spawned a huge universe. For me, he will forever remain there, in a distant childhood, which, alas, will not be returned.
10 out of 10
When I see the next animated masterpieces, I feel, somehow, uncomfortable. What a shame, how much stupid humor! When you look at it, you think, "Is this what children are offered?" Of course, there are exceptions, but still ...
Against the background of this horror, vivid, colorful, cheerful cartoons of childhood, which fell on the 90s of the past century, are recalled. One such animated series is "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles."
You can talk a lot about the series, its dissimilarity with movies, comics, but the fact that it has gained unprecedented popularity is undeniable. This fact speaks for itself.
We see on the screen the exciting adventures of four brave and good-natured heroes fighting evil. Heroes are not perfect, everyone has their own shortcomings and advantages. But that's what fascinates them.
What a cascade of images! Fearless fighters against evil, a wise mentor, insidious villains and their stupid assistants, mad scientists, a brave reporter. The list goes on.
The plots of the series amaze with their diversity: the invasion of alien invaders, travel through time and space, testing all kinds of machines and mechanisms.
All this is seasoned with sparkling and vulgar humor!
And, of course, those values that the series promotes and which, in fact, form its basis: friendship, willingness to always come to the rescue, loyalty to their duty.
I'm glad that this series was in my childhood.
In 1987, a dark and dramatic comic turned into a funny and colorful animated series. Humor pizza lovers living in the sewers and from time to time saving the world, loved the children of our country of the 90s.
This cartoon is not comparable to the quiet horror that young people have to watch today. Where's the sense of humor gone? And to us, cartoon artists even the sewer, in which the turtles and their teacher lived, depicted homely and cozy. Heroes saved the world in general and fought crime in particular, thanks to which everyday moments of life of the overseas city did not escape us. My favorite turtle was Michelangelo, I even had a keychain with him, which was successfully whistled by “colleagues” in kindergarten (ah, the nineties!).
Laughter with laughter, and cartoons like this one from the diapers used to teach children to be high. I went to kindergarten, and already knew the names of four outstanding masters of the Renaissance: Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, Raphael. And even if for me it was not people, and not even pathetic bugs, but super ninja turtles, everything that has anything to do with this cartoon evokes heartbreaking nostalgia. Shredder was to the children of the time, much like Darth Vader was to their parents. Although he was a villain, he had a strong charisma. April O’Neill is a bold red-haired journalist in a yellow jumpsuit and her slightly touched friend Irma. Splinter, respectful, wise teacher-rat, thanks to which even in this simple animated series there was a place for education and morality.
