The Lost Film I decided to mark the type of review as negative. There were prerequisites for a good movie. But...
Beginning
If you have already read the synopsis, where it is said that Paul Kane after recovery can not remember anything and is surprised by his fighting abilities, then forget about him. Distributors or something confused, or decided to add intrigue, because the synopsis really sounds intriguing. It will only confuse you.
Here's the official synopsis from the imdb site, which I did a little bit to avoid spoiling:
In fact, everything is not as it seems. Paul Kane recovers from a plane crash that killed his family. After surgery and rehabilitation, he recalls working for a secret agency, a hitman. His former boss takes him back to work. But something's going on. Who should he fear? What is his present past? And why does he have a Chilly Willie tattoo on his lip?
That's much better. Otherwise, after reading the synopsis from our distributors, you will be discouraged by Paul’s behavior at the beginning of the film.
The bundle itself is really interesting. Some secret, some inconsistencies, some people.
Middle
After two-thirds of the film, which is moderately dynamic, so I didn’t even notice how the hour flew by, there’s an intriguing ending. It looks like everything is finally starting to fall into place. And after some things are clarified, you will need to adjust something somewhere (or someone).
No, really, you didn't expect Paul to be always looking for something and asking questions, did you? This is a movie, not a soap drama.
But that's where the failure is.
The end
I remember a plot from a movie where the main character began to read a fairy tale to a child, but suddenly he had to go somewhere. The scene looked like this:
“Once upon a time there was a rabbit. He was very lonely and very unhappy. He had no friends and was sad. Yeah! Got it. Now... So one day he went into the woods, found friends, and they began to live cheerfully and amicably. It's over. Good night.
That’s what the movie looks like, or rather the ending. The story develops, develops, develops... And all of a sudden, "The rabbit has already found his friends." Whether the money ran out, or the idea, but the film crumpled up like a repaid obligation to the bank.
How much storylines could be developed! How much potential was put into this scenario! There is not one, for a few episodes with a head would be enough. And if you want one series, then please make it as dynamic as possible. But something went wrong.
It often happens that, for example, music teachers find fault with a talented but lazy student more than with other mediocre lazy people. Why? Because they see its potential, they are sorry that it neglects it.
I can’t treat it as a mediocre movie either. If the film had been mediocre initially, I would have slapped it with a neutral review and that was it. But no, the film should have been good if it hadn’t been amputated and replaced with some kind of crutch from cheap action movies.
Therefore,
5 out of 10
For lost opportunities.
