Provincial detective The city of Risville is a classic American province, where everyone knows each other, and any incident that has a distinct criminal connotation is perceived by its residents as extraordinary. David Meyers has returned to Risville after his father’s bizarre suicide, raising doubts about him, but this incident will be just the beginning of a chain of strange events in a city that only seems to be a quiet province.
The film “City of Evil” in 2003, directed by debutant Christian Odgen, I watched solely because of the great interest in low-budget and independent cinema and, admittedly, the film as a whole made a positive impression. Among the undoubted advantages of this unassuming picture, I can name a good detective intrigue, skillfully played out with a minimum number of actors and a relatively simple directorial manner.
The acting in the picture is also at a pretty decent level. Brad Hunt played the role of David Meyers very well, creating an interesting image of a man with unclear motives. Missy Kryder, Brian Wimmer and Mark Hamill also revealed their images well.
Of course, this picture does not attract the title of a masterpiece, but you can see it at least once out of interest.
