Bad remake. I offer to watch the original Danish film “Push on the Gas” in 2002, which is also a prequel to the film “In China Eat Dogs” (or “Fast Guns”) in 1999 and that and another film, also shot on the script of Anders Thomas Jensen.
Here, as they say, find ten differences, the film does not look bad, if you do not see the original, which in the spirit of genuine gangster films always retains all the seriousness of situations, (and as you know, the joke is good only when done with a serious face mine) without translating it, as happens here in some too “art house” farce, which in my opinion spoils the whole idea of the original script.
The director, together with the producers, only “took a piece” from the Danish history of the charismatic Harold gang and did not make his film brighter, more interesting, reworking the script in his own way, yielded on many points to the original by an order of magnitude. The attempt to use an interesting idea of the Danes, to repeat their success, in my subjective opinion failed, and the picture came out only a pitiful semblance of the original.
