Primitive cartoon As a child, I liked this movie. I don't know how, but I did. Watched it on a DVD of dubious quality with a thousand more cartoons on one disc. But that was about ten years ago, then I was another person.
Now, having succumbed to the ubiquitous fashion for nostalgia, I remembered about PollyWorld and re-watched it. I didn't get the pleasure. I don't understand how I watched it as a kid. For me, this spectacle is too primitive. From animation to script. Not very good at all.
As far as I understand, Polly Pocket is another Mathell toy. I have studied everything related to this doll and found out that there is some animated series about her in 2018. Well, at least the drawings are normal. There's some scribbling, some kind of slob. Sometimes you can score on bad graphics if the plot is very interesting. But Polly's World is boring, it gets lost in the background of all the other cartoons. This cartoon does not seem interesting among the widest variety of other animated films, it lacks the highlight.
The only character here who's any good-looking is Beth, the red-haired antagonist. But it is not very original, reminds another variation of Regina George from Mean Girls.
The main character - well, I don't know what she can hook. You think of it as a secondary version of Barbie, nothing more. Just a little pre-adolescent Barbie, that's all. The same craving for glamour, the same blonde hair and blue eyes. Nothing new.
I’ve also heard that there will be a movie about Polly in the near future. Well, I hope that he somehow refreshes and shakes up this story and brings it closer to the realities of our days. Because this 2006 animated film is already out of date and almost impossible to watch. I don't know why to watch it. The same film about Barbie 2023 turned out at least more witty, entertaining. I think if Polly's film is full of self-irony and parody, it will play into his hands. Since this cartoon is sustained on too serious bells and without much humor, it does not paint it. It was pretty faceless.
