For the sake of the cadres, except I love the Moscow subway. Its beautiful stations, each in its own style (there are, of course, completely faceless stations, but most are still made with an artistic intention). So, although I don’t like documentaries, I’ve watched this one.
Well, there's some interesting information. There is a newsreel.
But still, the idea of the film, although not without noble madness, is generally funny. Undoubtedly, there is an ideological background in the design of stations. Achievements and goals of the Soviet people, portraits of heroes and so on. But to consider the subway as a cult building is something on the level of “Lenin is a mushroom”. Look, they say, at the bas-relief at the station so-and-so, see the parallels with religious symbols?
Not enough, not enough. Less than an hour of film with a newsreel. There are so many stations left behind! Many people probably have an interesting story. Yes, at least just portraits of these stations, close-ups of interesting finishing details.
Well, it could have been better.
