A man is like a woman, any of them. It is bad to be a homosexual with big financial problems, and Simon Ashkenazi has fully understood the essence of this statement. However, in order to solve his problems, Simon was given the condition of his deceased rich uncle, who left him a decent inheritance: to marry. But for Simon it was not so easy.
A Man as a Woman was filmed in 1998 by French director Jean-Jacques Silbermann. The tape is a very elegant and full of subtle humor comedy, in which the problems of the family, and purely personal, sexual, concerning the orientation of most of the main characters are masterfully touched upon. A special flavor of the film is given by the fact that the film takes place in the Jewish community and the film is full of beautiful ethnic motifs and purely Jewish humor.
Antoine De Cohn as Simon Ashkenazi looks organic and interesting, creating a bright and vital image. Also extremely convincing in their game Elsa Silberstein (Rozali) and Gad Elmaleh.
The cameraman Pierre Ayim shot the film in a psychologically rich manner, creating a bright and stylish picture.
“Man as a woman” is an unusual and bright French comedy, which I recommend to all fans of European cinema.
