The spirits of the departed I call upon you! Awake the Great Cthulhu and strangle the writers with a pillow! As a rule, if any film received a sequel, then sooner or later a triquel will appear. Of course, sometimes there are exceptions to this rule, but not too often. And now the failed series of films about the misadventures of people that caused evil spirits to our world, received another continuation. Be brave, because this is the “Witchboard 3”.
The plot tells about a not too smart guy named Brian, in whose hands a magic board fell. And whether from idleness, or because instead of brains the guy straw, the hero decides to communicate with the spirits. In principle, the fool was not even sure that the board would work properly, but it worked. And the way the spirit works is to trust Brian first, and then he wants his body. Well, Brian, you're your own evil cormorant.
To be honest, when Peter Swatek came to the post of director, there was hope in me that the film would not be so bad. And not because Monsieur Svatek is a good director, but because you have to try very hard to surpass the second film in terms of talentlessness. What can I say? My hopes were partially fulfilled. The movie didn’t really get any worse than the second part, but did it get any better? I guess not. And all the fault screenwriters, who are under the influence of drugs, gave something remotely resembling a plot that can cause the viewer only nervous laughter and the desire for this movie to end quickly. Not much fun, though.
But what’s wrong with this movie? Well, for starters, this is the main character, which raises a number of questions, the main of which is - how did he live to a conscious age? No, of course, in the first and second film, the main characters were people who were beaten on the head a lot as children, with an iron trumpet, but Brian, played by David Naerman, spits them out, even without much strain. Who will save the world from another ghost? Our hero is unemployed and homeless. A man who lives on his wife’s dependency and decides to listen to the ghost and play the stock market. But where would Brian find that kind of money when he's unemployed? He'll take that money from the mob. Of course! I didn't know right away. How will Brian give the money? And so far the thoughts of the main character did not go. Probably borrow them from his friend Casper. You know what? I wish the ghost every success. Mmm, what? Ghost is a bad parody of Warlock and Poltergeist, and the only thing he cares about is who to sleep with? Oh, you must! And the other heroes? A masseuse who can't play? What's wrong?
As for the script, it doesn’t shine either. First, there is a cursed ring worn by one character at first, and he was normal, but as soon as it gets to Brian, the latter slowly begins to go crazy and his identity is replaced by a ghost personality. Um, maybe we should have warned Brian that the ring is cursed. Nope? Will he handle it? All right. Secondly, the fact that the film refused those developments that were in the first picture. You can't call a ghost when you're drunk. In fact, a common rule after all, if you manage to summon the spirit, then the heroes will say such a thing to him after drunkenness that mother does not grieve. And thirdly, this is the moment when blood spilled on the magic board. Or rather, it should have spilled on her, but spilled on the case in which this very board lay. And the ghost immediately began to rage. Magic is such a magic.
But in terms of special effects, the picture stepped forward and this despite the fact that the budget of the film was exactly the same as the creators in the first part. But now we have poorly painted special effects, a disgusting-looking demon and unproven flying barbed-cut objects. Well, that's really progress.
Summing up, I would like to say that this is another stupid film in which everything is so bad that sometimes it is difficult to keep a smile from the stupidity that is happening on the screen. You can watch this film only if you are not sorry for your time, and all good films about ghosts you have already reviewed.
