Continuation of the acclaimed comedy about the British superagent Austin Powers. Dr. Evil travels to the 1960s and steals Powers’ “mojo”—a source of sexual energy—and is obsessed with the idea of lasering the city of Washington. Austin is going to stop his worst enemy along with new beauty Felicia.
As another target for ridicule, the creators chose the cult “Star Wars”. The opening credits, the death star - this is only a little, for which Mike Myers and his company managed to pinch the well-known franchise. The atmosphere of the film almost completely migrated from the original part: stupid vulgar humor, terribly annoying crooked Austin Powers, vulgar sarcastic episodes. The director does not hesitate to openly advertise brands such as Heineken and Starbucks. The Russian model, of course, is shown to be ugly. Myers himself played the role of Fat Bastard in traditional Scottish clothes. In the film for some reason added idiotic screensavers with unpleasant dances of Austin Powers.
The only thing that made the film a little better than the previous one was the screen time of Doctor Evil. The creators realized that the villain is popular with the audience no less than a vulgar in colorful robes and therefore shot more scenes with his participation. In moments, the appearance and habits of Doctor Evil are reminiscent of the Penguin from Burton's "Batman", unsurpassed by Danny de Vito. A successful episode with the Doctor’s song to its own accompaniment on the piano about how he will blow up the world, and, of course, rap in his performance.
It is worth noting the inventive joke with the voice of each word in one sentence by people from different parts of the world. Resourceful. In general, cinema was a stupid farce, and remained.

Give a child, a child, a child!
Give a child, a child, a child, a child!
And with mustard, I'll eat it.
(Roughly 36 minutes of the film)
Austin Powers: The Spy Who Seduced Me
What a ka-a-life, director Jay Roach and actor Mike Myers made just a denting sequel to Austin Powers. They jumped so high that the second film quietly overtakes the original in many ways. Yes, The Spy Who Seduced Me is better than International Mystery Man. I will argue with anyone who disagrees. The sequel is funnier, the sequel is brighter, the sequel is more musical, the sequel is sexier, the sequel is madder, the sequel is wiser.
The title immediately refers to Lewis Gilbert’s The Spy Who Loved Me. We went through Bond again. We changed Elizabeth Hurley to Heather Graham (the old James Bond tradition, again). Good replacement. Baby Graham is such a beauty - hot, sexy, sweet, kind. She's the sunshine that makes the movie burnishly warm. Hurley was good, but the sequel needed Graham.
It looks like the other side of the original. I'll explain. In the first part, Austin was in the future, where he flies back to the past (60s), because Dr. Evil planned to steal his mojo. A billion speech and visual jokes. Dr. Evil admires you so much you don't care about Austin Powers anymore. If in the original you could choose (after all, you see them for the first time), then here (with a light conscience and cosmic sympathy) you go over to the side of Dr. Evil. Each frame with this hero is a masterpiece of the comedy genre. He carries a complete mess - you fall to the floor with laughter.
All the old heroes are in place. All the old heroes got even cooler - Number 2, Frau Farbissina, Scott and even Mustafa returned for a minute (the crazy role of Will Ferrell). Naturally, Mike Myers knew he needed a new villain. And he invented it - Fat Bastard! It's a stinking thug from Scotland. Fat bastard likes to eat, especially children. Oh, guys. You have to see with your own eyes. Prepare yourself in advance for vomit. Great image from Mike (three roles at once, I applaud him standing up).
And the cherry on this delicious cake is Mini-We! Vern Troyer is a memory forever, man. God made you small, but with a big heart. Without Troyer, nothing would have happened. Mini-We - you complete me! - Dr. Evil sings. That's right, that's damn right. A movie from a distant childhood. I won't. Look, love, have sex, laugh, live. And be sure to find your Mini-We. Can't find it? Then do it! It's a great movie (with a very good Russian dubbing, which is weird). I laughed to tears.
P.S.
For Tim Robbins and Woody Harrelson, thank you!

In my opinion, the sequel was not as juicy as the first film. That is, at first there is a long swing. If the humor in the franchise was based on the conflict of generations and vulgarity, the sequel has only vulgarity. A direct sequel to the final scene of “Mystery Man”, and the script merges one of the memorable characters of the debut.
Doctor Evil, as always, appears after wandering in space. The first part referred to cryogenic freezing, the second to a time machine. Next are the clichés of villains and heroes, the picture takes on a cheerful tone. Until the emphasis was again on the sexuality of Powers. This is going to be the whole movie.
We all know what a womanizer Mike Myers Austin introduced, about his limitless testosterone, but now it is the main asset of the country. The film is built again with the conquest of the girl, but this time everything is different, love, everything. (It’s like the first movie wasn’t about Austin.) The picture emerges from the pit of vulgarity, includes comedy, but still gives the aroma of eroticism. It seems that this is a great episode, where the characters are written, where there are jokes (not about the penis), where the drama is revealed, and BAC – Fat Jon Snow. Comedic, but still nasty presented some scenes with him.
Doctor Evil and his clone, Mini-We, are evolving. It was unexpected and funny. The dwarf Verne Troyer perfectly presented a copy of Evil Mike Myers. Because knowing the Doctor's naiveté and laughter, it's worth forgetting the stupid episodes. Even though the plans to take over the world look cliched, the main thing is that they did not disappoint with negative characters. Only sometimes, but it's forgivable.
In place of Elizabeth Hurley came Heather Graham – a new sexual attraction Powers. Then the development of feelings, falling in love as in romantic melodramas and saving the world. The second Austin is still good in the middle if you liked the first movie. Heroes develop, joke, but there are places that piss off, no matter what. Interstitials between Austin's dance episodes - what kind of self-advertising is that? Just passed the important moment, you need a transition, and you've been dancing. They have no significance, do not affect the plot, just advertising. Problems accessing the mojo, press "777" before hypersexuality and forward for new holes.
Austin's never-suspicious new partner is Agent Trachwell. Although the style of such vulgarity is just associated with the adventures of Powers. Perhaps this is the highlight of the franchise, and without it the films would not have been successful? For me personally, the property of the paintings is Doctor Evil!
The role of Austin Powers became the hallmark of Mike Myers in the cinema, as well as the most striking role in his professional career. The first film from the acclaimed trilogy was released in 1997 and was a wild and original parody of spy films, primarily British, putting Her Majesty's security and intelligence forces in the most serious light.
Bright colors that adorned the spy comedy, funny moments, original humor, a fine line between vulgarity and laughter, interesting characters and much more - this is only a small part of everything that was mixed in a beautiful film cocktail, where the conductor's wand was in the hands of Mike Myers - writer, producer and performer of the two main roles. It is absolutely logical that after such a successful film experiment followed the continuation and continuation, perhaps, jumped and successfully continued the original film.
The very first thing that struck after watching, is that the second film so successfully harmonizes in the sequel to the first, as if one part was shot, later split into two, releasing as two films. The second part very, very successfully complements the first part, while presenting to the audience additional denouements of the plot, new heroes and bringing something new to this trilogy. And this new one only adorns the beautiful thing that was created two years earlier.
This time, Myers took on the burden in three times, playing three characters at once, and the most colorful and memorable: Powers, Doctor Evil and a fat associate of the Doctor. The role of his charming (and otherwise and in no way) companion was performed by the magnificent Heather Graham. I was surprised at the beginning of the scene with Elizabeth Hurley, because it was expected to see her in the film throughout the action, but at the very beginning her character leaves this world, becoming an ordinary robot in human form. However, the charm of Graham, her charm, forms and an interesting scene of exposing the character of Hurley as a robot, hastily eclipsed the absence in the frame of Elizabeth, shifting all attention to the new companion of Powers.
Dr. Evil's not sleeping again. He actively rebels in a TV show, creates a clone, varies between past and future, fights Powers and tries to make himself rich again through blackmail. In The Spy Who Seduced Me, Doctor Evil receives much more attention than in the first part. Moreover, here he is more active, and new sketches and comedy moments with his participation give tremendous pleasure, for example, a scene with a piano, or numerous attacks with the Imaginary.
I want to talk about the imaginary separately. The insertion of a small copy of Evil in the plot is so successful that it is one of the main advantages of this film. The scenes with Myers and Troyer are fantastically funny and you expect both to appear in the frame with undisguised pleasure. The film managed to retain all its previous main characters and their assistants, which is important. The presence in the sequel of such actors as Mindy Sterling, Michael York, Seth Green, Robert Wagner was pleasant and important!
In the states, the film collected a stunning box office, which can not boast, often even modern blockbusters, and for comedies it is a rarity. The ending makes it clear that the continuation is still “oh how possible”, which means that we are waiting for the exciting adventures of Mike Myers in different guises, which will show 2001.
Amazing humor, former heroes, inimitable Myers and the benefit of "Angry Imaginary, definitely "

Returning us to the already legendary Austin Powers right where he was left last time - namely in bed with a seductive wife performed by Elizabeth Hurley, the film, however, immediately violates the canons of the first part - Vanessa, it turns out, is a robot, and everyone knew about it. Austin, after crying for ten seconds, starts dancing with the joy of returning to single life, and Dr. Evil does not sleep, because world domination does not belong to him yet, and the superagent should take revenge. That’s how the second part of the trilogy about Austin Powers – “The Spy Who Seduced Me”, which came out, oddly enough, better than the first (this is, of course, subjective impressions).
Yes, the plot logic has almost completely disappeared, but it is still an absurd parody, incredibly stupid, but at the same time very witty. Incredibly ragged in terms of plot, but very dynamic (at least, more dynamic than the first). Incredibly sleek and laundry (and in this respect, the sequel is superior to the original), but that doesn’t stop it from being very funny and fun. And copying some episodes of the previous film does not look like a stomp in place, but turns into the self-irony of the creators (if you do not know that this is a repeat of the first part, the scenes do not look so successful). Yes, and new hochms were added in full - only Mini-Me and Doctor rap are worth what. Or a rocket like... No, it will take too long to list all the names of what it looks like. Just follow the correct advice given to the viewer during the film - "Relax and have fun" and then the tape will really please. And, yes, if you drink coffee, you may be funding the Doctor Evil Corporation.
