'And then?' 'It's all right until tomorrow. . . - What is lacking in modern children's cartoons or films, is probably emotionality. There are some things in this world that are near and near. And family/friendly values are clearly shown in them. They have a lot of knowledge and instruction. But they're all so predictable. You know in advance what will happen there. Children watch them with the expression of adults 'sitting' in smartphones.
Maybe I wouldn’t have noticed it without seeing the delight of my 5-year-old daughter headlong into a magical scene when Peter taught Wendy and her brothers how to fly. She literally ALL had the same emotions that the children showed on the screen. The grin of 'cute, yes, very nice!' Peter, John's plea to teach them how to fly, Wendy's reproach that Peter didn't say anything about some trifle, and, of course, everyone's further enthusiasm for the flight - ALL was written on her daughter's face as a spectator. It was like she was flying with them. I watched it all the time, and for the first time she said she wanted to fly like them. And after all, flightless heroes (other films), but for various reasons soaring in the sky, she has already seen dozens of times. But it was here that I believed in this fairy tale, and wanted to find myself in it.
When I looked at my daughter’s reaction, I could only remember the phrase at the end of the movie, ‘If I could fly with you.’ I also wanted to believe in this childish magic.
And in general, it is brilliant to make a film for both a children's audience and an adult. And beautifully decorate it all with songs. As a child, you fly with heroes in a whirlwind of "unprecedented, unprecedented adventures." You listen to Wendy and John's "De-E-E-E-E-E-Eti are Flowers-E," and you think, oh, that's me! And it didn’t take long to be told, ‘Dad, they have a dad, just like you when you’re late!’
And now, having become a parent yourself, you agree with Wendy's mother, heartfeltly singing at the piano "Don't rush the children to grow up." Completely different colors listen to these strong songs, years later.
By the way, maybe it seems superfluous in the plot of the song where "any terrible thing can happen." But she's so amazing, so exciting. It clearly shows the cohesion of the family, and the fact that mothers, they are like buttons on which everything is held. Well, I can’t help but quote my favorite lines from there: ‘And the fish climbed out on land, and their legs grew back, and immediately snakes fell for their new legs to bite them. And the bees sang! These lines are probably liked, probably due to the corresponding emotions of Wendy, John and Mrs. Darling.
A few are just boring pirate songs. And so detailed, with everyone presenting. It would be much more interesting to hear a similar song from the lost boys. And then they sang only one song - "How does the house begin" (by the way, not the most important hit of the film, but nevertheless this song has always participated in various children's film concerts on TV).
In fact, most of the scenes with pirates turned out to be some ... light. If they did not show children, then you can easily distract from watching. So the main trump card of this film is the children's characters and their performers. And songs.
And the main theme of "Listen, boy, you cry, boy" can be listened to forever. The instrumental melody itself is no less beautiful than it was, for example, in Star Boy.
The patriotic dialogue about the homeland between Captain Hook and Wendy's brother, John (in the final scenes on the ship) was a bit surprised. In those years, those moments were usually gone. And just like Olya in the Kingdom of Curved Mirrors of the 60s enthusiastically telling that “there is no better country in the whole white world!”
The most recent scene of the film... Open window, frozen glass, swaying curtains, flying away Peter Pan. It’s a sad phrase, “If only I could fly with you.” And the heartbreaking composition "And childhood has no past." A song in which there are very few lines, but each so strong, so concise, so ... necessary, not superfluous ... That the cycle of feelings is like... What's the comparison? Well, remember how the doors closed Alisa Selezneva under the "Beautiful far"? Or did fireworks flash in front of the carousel Mary Poppins was standing on under the Wind of Change? It is impossible after that to take, and after watching to do the usual everyday business. When there is no choice, you have to. I don’t want to play music anymore.
Whether it was good or not, who will answer? But the fact that once children's films were made with a soul, that's for sure. Children are natural, starless, directors treat them as equals. Children’s worthy films in those days were shot so much that you can not have time to review everything before “time from childhood will soon drive us away.”
