A wealthy Texan recruits four soldiers of good fortune to retrieve his wife, kidnapped by the vile Mexican revolutionary Jesus Raza. But to check everything turns out to be, as usual, not so simple: no one without demand kidnapped, and corpses a mountain.
Strong professionally shot film from director Richard Brooks. The theme of the Mexican revolution was very popular in the Westerns of the 60s and the film is quite left-wing, just remember the final picture. This is in the spirit of the time.
The film definitely had a big budget, and the cast is very representative. The mercenary leader is played by Lee Marvin, the rest of the soldiers of luck Burt Lancaster, Robert Ryan, Woody Strode. Jesusa Razu was vividly performed by Jack Palance, the "abducted" Mrs. Grant Claudia Cardinale. In general, all the legends of Hollywood and all look at the level.
The action develops quite cheerfully and, in general, for two hours of screen time, you will not be bored. Although there is nothing special in the film, but for the sake of an excellent cast, the film is definitely worth watching for all fans of the western and classics of Hollywood.
