Let me guide you to the purple rain… Today, there is no denying the fact that Prince was a musical genius, and it is no coincidence that his band was called The Revolution: he always experimented in his work and was a revolutionary in essence. How many musical genres in which he performed, how many musical instruments he brilliantly owned, how much music he gave.
This film is considered a classic in the United States and has long been disassembled for quotes. In 2014, the states celebrated the 30th anniversary of Puple Rain. After Prince’s sudden death in April, the film was released in American theaters. And that's the beauty of the art of cinema, because on the screen, again, we see a young, 26-year-old Prince at his peak. Energy and charisma during performances beat over the edge. It is no coincidence that the heroine first saw him at the club, during the show, was conquered by him. Prince was able to stage a performance, to light and conquer the hearts of women.
The movie looks in one breath, and there’s a reason to watch or watch it again. Especially if you are not far from the world of music or art.
Very interesting creative atmosphere and fashion of the mid-80s. A very beautiful and well-suited heroine for this role is Apollonia. It's just nice to see her...
"Oscar" for the best recording for a film (for the song "Purple rain") - speaks for itself.
The song "When Doves Cry" was first heard in another film - "Romeo + Juliet" with DiCaprio in the title role. That song is awesome. Only then did I find out many years later that it was a Prince song.
There is a favorite moment in the film associated with ablution in Lake Minnetonka. So the film ultimately gives positive emotions, despite all the throes of the hero’s creativity, his family problems and rivalry on stage and in life with his main antagonist Morris Day.
This film is also good to watch in the original (in English).
