Good slasher from Steve Miner. This director gave us the second part, which was a good slasher, so the third part turned out the same.
In the films of this franchise, the plot does not play the most important role, and especially of all the classic horror film franchises, this is the weakest. but it shows how a different approach to such a simple plot of the Summer Camp Massacre can affect him. Here, for example, this part turned out to be a fun slasher, like the second.
The actors did quite well. The characters turned out normal. They didn't piss me off, but there was nothing to worry about.
Jason Voorhees finally got his hockey mask in this part. Due to the similarity of him, in the previous part, with the maniac from The City That Feared the Sunset, he had to change his appearance, and this was beneficial. Hockey mask looks much more memorable than a bag, and more cool.
Deaths are done well. They are bloody, and the practical effects were clearly not done by a hack. It is difficult to highlight what my favorite murder is here, because they are all done well.
So, is the movie scary? Not really. Entertainment? Yeah. I highly recommend this follow-up.
A year after the premiere of the original “Friday the 13th” came the second part, which is absolutely no different from the first. Yeah, Jason's a maniac, but he doesn't have his famous mask yet, so who cares who kills? Fees of the second series were almost twice less than the original, so the producers urgently had to think how to keep the franchise afloat. Why urgently? They wanted to release it again in a year.
So, we have the horror Steve Miner "Friday, the 13th - part 3 in 3D". First of all, of course, the title catches the eye of this very three-de. That is, the producers understood that it would still be impossible to change the concept globally, so you can attract viewers with at least a picture. Well, secondly, in the director’s chair again Miner, who directed the second part, why change it, if the previous film still turned out to be good? Screenwriters just in case found new and started production.
This time, the plot revolves not around the Crystal Lake camp, but around a simple country house (which still stands on the lake, so the essence has not changed much). Instead of counselors, now the most ordinary teenagers who got out to rest. The set of characters is the same - all teenagers think exclusively about beer and sex, among them there is bound to be a jester (which has already become a mandatory component of almost any slasher), and Jason is also here.
In the first part, Jason’s mother killed counselors for her son (albeit a little untimely), in the second, Jason was already avenging his mother. In the third part, Voorhees turns into an illegible maniac who just goes to hack teenagers who got out to rest. Motivation? And not her, in this part, Jason turns into the silent death machine that goes with a machete and just crushes everyone in a row. And, of course, it is in this part that he finally finds the hockey mask and finds his classic image.
As for the teenagers themselves, nothing has changed. Advisers or not, it doesn't matter if Jason came after them anyway. They become more and more stupid, their interests are extremely limited – this is where you start to cheer for Jason. Although the fat man is a bit sorry, of course.
As a result, I want to say that it was in the third part of the formula “Friday” brought to perfection (although only in the last part of the film). Jason finds his mask and goes to chop teenagers - cheerful, fun, tasteful. It was this part that was supposed to be the last in the franchise, but the fees convinced the producers to put production on stream.
Thank you for your attention
Masky Show in 3D or Jason Voorhees vs. Chuck Norris' daughter
The third part of this series becomes the subject of my film review. This time it was decided that the film will be in 3D - said - done, that is, shot, so to speak. In addition, such an honor that year were awarded such films as the Throne, the Amityville Horror and the legendary Jaws 3. 1982 is the year of 3D in Hollywood history. Now about the film - finally, the appearance of our maniac is becoming final - no more bags on his head, comrades - although it is thick and empty - the role would not play, I believe, but nevertheless the canonicity of the image of Jason is difficult to overestimate. This time there will be more corpses, much more than usual - it seems that our maniacello is not joking - most of the children are not sorry (except, perhaps, the curly laugher - and he, by the way, has a mask and pocketed), but this time he missed - for the hockey soul of our friend came the daughter of Chuck Norris himself - Dan Kimmel - in the same year, who played in the cult film "The Lone Wolf McQuade" daughter yourself understand from the title of the article - so that Jason is sorry, if the other one still holds the impression, but my opinion is that the next time -

About the famous maniac Jason Voorhees, I think, know even those who have just heard about the genre of horror, you can even say that he has become one of the key characters of this genre. But it was in this room that he found his most famous appearance.
The third part of the film series ' Friday the 13th & #39; was filmed back in 1982, during the surge in popularity of the so-called stereoscopic picture, and part of the film, including the opening credits, was shot in 3D. For 1982, three-dimensional effects look very impressive (in comparison with the same 'Jaws 3', released a year later), and I would even recommend watching this film in 3D.
What about the plot? Template story - teenagers arrive at the infamous camp and are gradually cut out by Voorhees. However, Voorhees never commits all his murders in the same way, he uses a variety of means and methods to destroy carefree teenagers. Because of the banal unscripted most of the characters involuntarily begin to root for the maniac and ' prompt ' him, where the next victim hid. The maniac himself, however, despite his size, is a quiet killer, so you should not expect a sharp vanliner from him before the death penalty of another guy who came under the arm.
The film with all its fashion '' is low-budget (as well as the rest of the films in the series), so it is natural to see the seemingly squalid pre-computer special effects, sometimes funny murders and bad acting. But who cares? Murders and bloodshed a lot (after all, most viewers watch the films of the series because of them), and in this case, everything else does not matter.

What is a weekend in nature without sex?
(Oh, sweetie)
Friday the 13th - Part 3
People keep coming back to Crystal Lake, including me. The audience seemed to be full of a bloody subgenre, and the filmmakers did not seem to have new ideas. But, once again, Steve Miner was at the helm, who originally wanted to focus the story around Ginny. After failing to convince Amy Steele to return to her role, the authors made a different decision. And when I say otherwise, I mean they pretty much made the same story again. Why give the viewer something new, if they enough regular, typical slaughter, right? I don't want to be naughty, but I'll have to.
However, this is an important canon film in which Jason will put on his iconic hockey mask. As soon as he puts it on, he instantly becomes one of the iconic characters, he is literally reborn. Otherwise, the film does virtually nothing to differ from previous films, other than changing the location of the massacre. Gone are sun-drenched clearings and forests of previous locations, and in their place, we have much less lush surroundings. Of course, none of this matters when the sun sets and Jason comes out to play. The movie, as before, begins with extensive memories of the ending of the previous film. Part 3 begins where Part 2 left off. I saw attempts to lighten the tone of the series by adding more explicit humor. The murders, as always, remain a point for Jason, and here, Miner tries to surpass everything we've already seen. The complex nature of the murders is complicated - heads are crushed, eyeballs pop out of orbit, limbs are severed, heroes, carefree walking, are cut in two.
The characters are still too superficial for us to really care about, though there have been attempts to move away from the "lustful counselors" whose blood saturated previous films. However, this gang is full of interesting sketches - an actor with low self-esteem, a sensitive Latino chick, an emotionally fragile girl and her boyfriend, a young couple who just found out she was pregnant. It's enriched by a trio of bikers, and here it is, we get a variety of food for Jason. The first part of the film consists of heroes wandering in the barn, which inevitably promises them a meeting with NIM. But things get more interesting when a couple returns from a little walk in the woods. The chase scene at the end, in which the clumsy gruff Jason is repeatedly cornered, only to temporarily win, escape and face him again, gives a sense of unease. This incarnation of Voorhees, supremely sinister and sadistic as he has not yet become a supernatural zombie, he is in the early stages, he exudes a real threat - he is mostly wild and completely unreasonable. He even smiles when one of the heroes recognizes in him once attacked the monster.
After the second film and her largely unexpressive band, these new characters seem more colorful, even if their difficulties are the same far-fetched issues raised on basic federal channels. With the exception of a story from a survivor after meeting Jason, I don't have many complaints. She says, "I've passed out." I don’t remember what happened after that. Because neither the writers nor the director were able to thoroughly think through the story in which the girl met Jason and survived. Voorhees found a beautiful girl in the woods and didn't kill her? Why not? What stopped him? What the hell is so special about her? And I have already begun to forget that this is “Friday the 13th”, the franchise that was silent about how its protagonist for 5 years swung into a two-meter thug (yes, I mean the second film). I'm gonna need more smoke than Snoop Dogg to cool off after such plot pits. Lazy writers, why didn’t you even try?
There are good moments here. For example, the presence of a biker trio in the story, which gives rise to more bodies and gives a good reason for the notorious car to break down, forcing the hero to enter the traditional final confrontation. The confrontation, with a brutal ending, which shows the general consequences of such brawls. In general, it is one of the best parts of the series, quite interesting and significant, because it introduces us to the iconic hockey mask, but also quite stupid, let’s not forget.

(About the 17th minute of the film)
Friday the 13th - Part 3
Well, according to the box office, this franchise is a little early to retire. This is Friday the 13th, baby. Again Steve Miner, again Jason Voorhees, again lustful teenagers cut into cabbage. Oh, yeah! You can start to emerge that old Jason doesn't evolve at all, one whole dumb massacre. You'd be right, but I swallowed the movie the first time and didn't choke.
Seriously, Steve Miner had a nice movie. I can’t say anything about the 3D version (yes, the picture was made for 3D cinemas, here are a few scenes when something flies directly into the camera). Although, to put my hand on my heart, it's all complete nonsense. Think about it, watch the classic horror from the 80s, man, with red and blue glasses on your nose. Who wants this? Pampering. Forget it.
Cinema does not claim to be a great horror movie (put your negative reviews aside). But he is quite confident in his duties. Jason is very violent in this part. He cuts off his hands with a long machete, pierces the brisket with pitchforks and squeezes his eyes out with his bare hands. Cool? Yeah, yeah.
But the most high comes when Jason finds a hockey mask. Yes, it happened! In the second part, he ran around with a bag on his head, and many critics went wild. I had to think of something. In the triquel, Jason puts on a hockey mask and records himself in the history of horror. You can love the original, you can love the second film, but the cult came here.
For that reason, I can't say anything bad about a triquel. The only thing I didn’t expect was this turn, I didn’t like the girls in this part (or rather, they are all the same). There was a funny aunt in the beginning (husband and rabbit still shouted), there was a bright biker. And the kids who came to rest – absolutely not remembered! Even the main character. Subjective.
“Friday the 13th – Part 3” won’t be able to draw you in with a compelling plot and original dialogue, all too obviously. But if you've come after Jason in a mask and brutal murder, he'll be happy to meet you at Crystal Lake. Welcome!
P.S.
One of the characters, who constantly smoked, was a little like Tommy Chong from the cult franchise – Smoked! Aha ha, sorry...
Friday the 13th Part 3: A New Dimension of Horror! . ?
Number of victims: 12
Weapons: cleaver, knitting spoke, pitchfork, harpoon, machete, knife, electric current, hot poker, strangulation with hands.
Badly received by critics, the first two films of the franchise did not affect the vision of the guys from Paramount Pictures to continue the series, squeezing the maximum financial opportunities out of it. Seeing that the simple and bloody scheme laid down by the director of the first film Sean Cunningham and continued by Steve Miner, the creators decided to change absolutely nothing, recreated almost copies of the first two parts. Given the fact that the audience quite favorably accepted the plot simplicity of the series, it was decided not to change the concept and not to experiment with drama, adding only as a staging and variety of bloody scenes that finally became the hallmark of the entire franchise.
The primary task of the remaining director Steve Miner and again going to the shores of “Crystal Lake” was to finalize the main character so that he looked more threatening, and not a hillbilly with a bag of potatoes on his head and a machete in his hands. The choice fell on the usual hockey mask, but added the charisma of the hero and provided instant recognition of the character. There is only one mystery left, how does Jason, who lives in the woods, have perfectly polished shoes, clean and ironed pants? No iron was seen in his hut. This nonsense in the end does not interfere with the integral formation of the image of the hero, but in subsequent paintings it is still corrected.
Starting similarly to the previous part with a brief retelling of the previous events of the Voorhees family, the film returns to the same story, recruiting another group of young guys. Guys who will still drink, have fun and make love until the viewer gets tired of all this, and Jason will again arrange a bloody fresh cocktail with the help of pitchforks, hot poker, harpoon, his favorite machete and much more. Inventing new and sophisticated methods of killing, this time he can see everything very clearly through the slots of his new attribute - a hockey mask. It is also visible that from the third film, a typical set of a youth company is finally formed, which is used to this day in similar slasher projects.
An important feature of the picture is the expansion of the locations of events, since Jason now operates not only in the summer camp, but also on all the picturesque shores of Crystal Lake. The presence of secondary simple stories of the children here is again necessary insofar as not to distract the viewer from the main task of preparing his many bloody dishes by Voorhees. But the most interesting thing is that in all this simplicity, a full-fledged canon of the Friday the 13th franchise was formed, when it became finally clear that it was not necessary to invent anything, since the viewer loves “Friday” for Jason and his mask, for naked girls in the frame and for various picturesque murders.
Excellent box office fees, which allowed to repeatedly cover the production budget of the sequel Friday the 13th, convinced the rights holders of the franchise from the womb of Paramaunt pictures to continue work on the third part of the adventures of the troubled Voorhees family. Realizing that the audience favorably accepts the plot simplicity of the story, the producers felt that special dramatic experiments on Friday the 13th were better not to be carried out, allowing the director of the second part, Steve Miner, to re-enter the waters of Crystal Lake with the only primary task: to send to the other world another company of young people who recklessly visited a remote wooded area in search of entertainment. The only thing that was put in particular emphasis was the expansion of funding for the film, which allowed Friday the 13th. Part 3" add a few points in terms of entertainment, and at the same time attract the audience to cinemas for 3D sessions, which gained incredible popularity in the mid-80s. Feeling the competition from other franchises, literally breathing “Friday the 13th” in the back, the creators competently warmed up interest in their offspring, released a lot of accompanying materials that reveal the legendary “Crystal Lake” from a variety of angles and it is worth noting that in many ways an extensive advertising campaign has redeemed the flaws in terms of script and direction. Viewers and critics, fascinated by the uncomplicated charm of history, for the third film finally got used to the canons of the series, laid down by Sean C. Cunningham and Victor Miller, with trepidation waiting for another opportunity to return to the creepy places where children's laughter was once heard, and now one of the most dangerous maniacs in the history of cinema.
So, the plot of the film unfolds the day after the neighboring camp, located near the notorious “Crystal Lake”, was a horrific attack, and almost all the counselors were cut into pieces by Jason Voorhees, who rose from an underwater grave, and failed to forgive people their abuse. The main character of the third film is a young girl named Chris (Kimmal), who tries to cope with her fears and returns to the nearby forests to drown out the last pockets of pain caused by the attack of a stranger about two years ago. Arriving at the place with a group of good friends, Chris is located in the house of his parents, where she was already waiting for a good friend Rick (Paul Kratka), who prepared the rooms for temporary accommodation. Trying at least briefly to distract from worldly worries, the guys are ready to rest, but they did not expect that this trip for most of them will be the last thing they did in their lives. The maniac Jason is not going to share his forest and lake with anyone, let alone with teenagers obsessed with sex, alcohol and loud music. Having watched the inappropriate behavior of city guests, the child of Crystal Lake takes his favorite weapon in his hands and takes revenge. It doesn’t matter that those responsible for his death are long dead. It doesn't matter to him that the killer of his inadequate mother rots in the ground. Once he has experienced universal anger, Jason will not stop. But even such an impressive nightmare, which he himself is, sometimes meets with worthy resistance. This time, Jason’s implacable opponent becomes a fragile-looking girl who just needs to put her nerves in order. And there is no doubt that she will not put her head under a machete so simply.
Of course, it is foolish to change controversial moments in a successfully working history if they do not affect the indicators in the box office reports. However, the creators of Friday the 13th relaxed too much, eliminating any pressure on the writers, who frankly got bored. The previous films of the series have never had a special semantic load, but this does not mean that the adventures of Jason Voorhees must be repeated time and time again according to the same patterns, without making constructive changes to the plot. “Friday the 13th. Part 3 is no different from the original film and sequel, just changing some pretty performers for others, as well as slightly expanding the scene, showing us that in addition to two children's camps on the picturesque lake there are several summer houses. And this circumstance finally untied the writers hands, as now they can supply Jason in unlimited quantities of fresh sacrifices, necessary stories only in order to more effectively emerge from the plot under the crunch of broken bones and dripping streams of blood. In this attitude to the case, as before, both the strongest and frankly weak sides of the film lurk, despite everything that managed to become one of the most popular 3D attractions of its time.
Unlike the same Nightmare on Elm Street, the Friday the 13th franchise does not even try to put in the center of the story memorable teenagers with charisma and who really want to watch. With the exception of Kevin Bacon, who briefly appeared in the first part, subsequent films are devoid of bright actors, from which viewers do not care who will become a victim of Jason and who will be lucky to escape. It is no exception and the third part, whose teenage heroes are remarkable except for a couple of scenes with outright nudity, which invariably attracts the attention of the audience who are going to gawk at the piquancy. But once it comes to empathy, the drama of the film crumbles before our eyes. In this case, the creators would have to remove empty spatial conversations from the timekeeping, allocating precious time to old Jason, but Steve Miner, who retained the post of director and one of the leading curators of the third part, believed that exceeding the limit of cruelty would unnecessarily relax the viewer, from which he would rather laugh at the sight of a maniac than hide his eyes from the screen. This decision is partly justified.
The action begins to change dramatically at the moment when the creators are finally tired of the games in the disclosure of characters that do not carry anything significant in themselves, and move on to the main attraction of the program. It's "Friday the 13th." Part 3 finally formed the classic image of Jason Voorhees, previously represented by a boy, then a medium-sized baby with a bag on his head. Now the resurrected drowned man flaunts in the famous costume of swamp color, and over time complements his colorful appearance with a hockey mask, which has become a symbol of the entire franchise. Finally, the creators decided on the stylistics of their main star, and Jason Voorhees was able to become an icon of genres along with Freddy Krueger and Michael Myers, trodden the way from screens to books, comics, games, game figures. Thus, the semantic emptiness of the triquel not only failed to destroy the franchise, but also gave it a powerful charge for further development.
Finally, I want to say that Friday the 13th. Part 3 looks like a completely optional, but quite digestible entertainment. If you experience a lack of blood in the frame, then if you wish, you can get acquainted with the creation of Steve Miner and the company.

Friday 13 is a cult film series about Jason, one of the most famous characters in cinema.
Not to say that the previous parts were a masterpiece, far from it, but they were interesting in their own way. The basis of the films is the camp "Crystal Lake", about which there are urban legends and terrible stories, which frighten each other arriving teenagers, and eventually become part of these bloody stories.
The third part seems to try to follow this basis, but it does not.
There are other teenagers here, even local ones. In the beginning, they show news on TV about another wave of murders. But our young heroes don’t even think they’re in danger. Nobody even remembers the stories about Crystal Lake and Jason, about the murders there, not even discussing the recent massacre, shocking the whole city. Only the main character feels restless, and even that, because of the old psychological trauma, which in fact is “not fired a gun”. The fact that once she wandered into the woods, and she was attacked by Jason, she could not fight back and escape, he dragged her somewhere. She woke up at home. Why he attacked her and didn't kill her, why this storyline is at all - it's not clear, because then this moment will not be used in any way, except that in the end he will remove the mask and she will recognize him.
What we end up with. The scene and Jason himself are not mentioned. If they were anywhere else, and any other maniac would kill them, nothing would change. The most common, not at all original murders, coupled with uninteresting situations, heroes and dialogues make the film boring and protracted.
In this film, for myself, I found only two positive things - cute actresses and the first appearance of a hockey mask, which in many ways makes the image of Jason one of the most recognizable. It’s not a big deal for a cult franchise.
I had two feelings after watching Friday 1982. Let me explain in order.
One of the advantages of the picture is that Jason formed in his final image. That hockey mask is already on him. That's the way he's seen. This is the end of the movie.
The concept of this picture has not changed. In the third part, everything that happened in the previous part happens. Plus or minus is that for a slasher? I don’t know anymore, so decide for yourself. On the one hand, senseless reprisals are present. What else is needed for a horror movie like this? On the other hand, this development is already boring. No new ideas were added to Friday. There is a feeling that the film was made in haste.
The banal actors are already tired. It's the same time and time again. They run, they catch up, they get killed. The third part went into a phase of stagnation. It doesn't look good, but it's not too bad either. The film is not full of individuality. Except that Jason turned out better than in the previous part.
Result: actors are boring, the plot is average, Jason is good.
The plot of this film directly continues the second film, Jason escapes the scene of the murder and begins to look for the girl who ran away from him a couple of years ago. He overtakes her in the woods near Crystal Lake.
About the actors, as in previous films, I have nothing to say, these are young people who are again only secondary characters against the background of the main character of the franchise. Jason Voorhees. It is in this film that Jason finds his famous hockey mask and in which he becomes a person. Still silent, gloomy, wearing a mask, he seems to separate himself from people, shielding himself from memories of drowning as a child and when no one came to his aid. I think it was indifference that gave birth to the monster, first his mother and later himself, turning him from an ordinary boy into a brutal killer, killing everyone who in his opinion is engaged in immoral affairs and who breaks the laws.
Visual effects and makeup are excellent, frighteningly repulsive if you can call the work of makeup artists and other special effects. The film is still bloody, brutal with naturalistically filmed murder scenes that bring to life the colorful views of the lake.
Appraisal, I never cease to be surprised that all the continuations of the franchise are quite strong and self-sufficient films, which I recommend to all fans of slashers and Jason Voorhees for viewing.

Of course, IMAX did not exist at that time, but stereoscopy technology with the same anaglyph glasses, where each lens was a different color. The effect of the third dimension is quite questionable, but there was nothing to choose from. The third Friday, the 13th, was in many ways iconic. Jason put on a hockey mask and became the killing machine. On the other hand, in this film I saw almost nothing special. But everything in order.
The film begins with the final scene of the previous film. Only this time we are shown that Jason is not dead. Pulled out the machete and crawled. And then, after a while, he went back on the murder trail. After all, a new party of young concerned idiots (and idiots, of course) went to rest in the vicinity of Crystal Lake.
There was nothing new in the movie except Jason’s mask. Which doesn't really change the concept. Jason's just a dumb boogie, using the tools he can to kill anyone he can get his hands on. Especially sex lovers. All teenagers except one girl will die. Hell, they even beat the final canoe scene!
This is a case where there is nothing to talk about. Oh, yeah, the music's a little different. In the opening credits, yeah. The theme of the film is “ki-ki-ki, mo-mo-mo.” The list of characters was slightly updated, where a fat loser was added - somehow the previous parts did without this type. In addition to him, added more bikers — but this is associated with only one small plot twist, which does not make much weather, except that adds numbers to the counter tel.
So I'm not even gonna crucify myself. Bottom line: 3 out of 10. Exploitation is the same as in previous films. Oh, yeah. Naked less, sex less. Blood is not good for me either. That is, the film loses to the previous parts in entertainment. Let’s see what the fourth part will do.
After the release of the successful second part, which turned out better than the first, the second film turned out to be atmospheric, and for the first time there was a well-known maniac - Jason Voorhees. This film has the longest introduction in history, which is 12 minutes long. And a year after the release of the second part was born Friday the 13th - Part 3 in 3D.
The third film was also great, atmospheric and filled with a great soundtrack. The third part is still stupid and cliché, the acting is still inexpressive. The main disadvantage of the third part, as in this franchise, is the secondary. The third movie doesn’t stand out, it’s all the same. Camp again, Crystal Lake again, teenagers again, one by one dies. And a small minus in the background of the main character, somehow sluggishly she reveals.
But the third part has more pluses. Beautiful views of the forest and the camp. Starting with the second part, the creators began to focus on murder. In this film they are picturesque and diverse. And most importantly, Jason is dominated by his classic image of a hockey mask. In general, it can be noted that Jason behaves like a professional, he follows the victim and thinks through everything to the smallest detail. And thanks to the creators - this mask suits him, the maniac has become more expressive. If in the first half it hides in the shade and in the bushes, then by the second it turns into a walking meat grinder.
The first half of the film is not very interesting, it introduces the viewer to the main characters, the second begins to tickle the viewer’s nerves without 3D. The third film turned out to be successful, it is rare when the slasher holds on to another third film, but then the franchise began to roll. The third film is atmospheric, but it is a pity that nothing new does not present, but the film is not bad, here Jason is now in a classic form. The third part logically ends and it was necessary to finish the series, but no franchise began to milk and worsen with each film, not presenting something new, and so on.

I was a little afraid to sit down to watch, but the second part was rehabilitated, I really did not want to be disappointed again.
The picture has not changed at all. All the same teenagers who are sure to die a terrible violent death and even more mandatory Jason, methodically, inventively, killing young people.
The main drawback of the film is the reluctance of the writers to work their heads, yet this genre cyclicality, to put it mildly, surprises with its primitiveness, and bring something new, such as that, well, will surprise the grateful viewer at least a little. But I was glad that Jason finally appeared in the frame in all its glory. His classic image was drawn - a healthy, clumsy child, in a hockey mask, in his modest farm outfit and work equipment in his hand. It is interesting that it is the mask that gives its appearance that very frightening effect, in front of it even the machete passes.
If the previous parts were stalled at the beginning of the film, then this picture did not torment the viewer and almost immediately moved to the main, giving a larger piece of timekeeping to Jason and his bloody needs. Also pleased with the activity of the victims, who again fought back, but the killer did not lag behind them, inventing new methods of killing, which sometimes caused disgust with their detail.
The film will be recommended for viewing even despite the script template, if only because the long-awaited Jason appeared on the screen, and the characters need to know in person.
I wish everyone a pleasant viewing!!
Once upon a time, I got my hands on a book called Friday the 13th, which included the novels of some of the films from the Friday series, as well as the Evil Dead trilogy. Of course, at that time I had not seen any of the above pictures. I read the book from cover to cover. And the most memorable piece for me was Bloody Weekend, a novelized version of the third part of Friday the 13th.
Years later, I watched this movie, like all the franchise movies. And to be honest, I'm a little disappointed. We will not be in a hurry.
In terms of plot everything is great. It is markedly different from the previous two parts. For example, the action takes place no longer in the camp, but in the country house of the main character. And the set of characters became more diverse and interesting. Briefly about the main characters:
Chris is the main character of the film. The owner of a country house where friends gathered. From her story, we learn that she had already encountered Jason a few years ago, but she managed to escape. He is the only survivor at the end of the film, but alas, went mad.
Rick's boyfriend Chris. Loves Crystal Lake for its quiet and peaceful nights.
Andy and Debbie are a couple from an alpha male and a nymphomaniac. They prefer to have sex anywhere, anytime. Andy also has a habit of walking on his hands.
Shelly is a complex guy who dreams of becoming an actor. He carries a bag of acting props. He likes to scare and prank his friends with masks, rubber knives, fake blood, etc. Thanks to him, Jason had a famous hockey mask.
Faith is a Mexican, the only one who had any contact with Shelly.
Chuck and Chile are a pair of hippies. Bloated joints, walking barefoot. They are in a state of kumara all the time.
Ali, Loko, Fox are a gang of bikers who did not have a good relationship with Shelly and Vera. As revenge wanted to set fire to the barn Chris, but there they were waiting for Jason.
And most importantly, this film finally formed the image of Jason Voorhees. The mask appeared on his head. The truth remains a mystery as to why Jason is quite hairy in the second part and absolutely bald in the third. Well, it's a 10/10 story.
One gets the impression that the end of the third episode is an attempt to copy the ending of the second. Here the heroine also climbs into the boat and spends all night in the middle of the lake. It is worth noting very successful scenes with drifters and with a duck, but the episode with Mrs. Voorhees jumping out of the water is filmed and mounted disgustingly. I'd bet 9/10 for the end.
Activity also leaves much to be desired. Especially in the scene where Chile runs around the house shouting, "Shelly's dead!" It looks awfully fake. But considering that almost all the people in this film are not professional actors, but people literally “from the street” (by the way, Larry Zerner, who played the main character, distributed flyers on the street until she was met by Steve Miner and offered the role), this is in principle forgivable. To play 9/10.
The author of the soundtrack, as in the previous parts, is Harry Manfredini. For his iconic music 10/10.
In terms of image, the film loses to the previous one. Although the murders have become a little more sophisticated, but they are shown rather sparingly. Just 1-2 seconds and that's it. And the death of some of the characters was left behind. Unfortunately, the creators of the picture to achieve a rating of 16+ cut several juicy scenes, as a result of which the film became fresh. 9/10.
Special effects in some scenes are puzzling. For example, when Jason squeezes Rick’s skull with his hands and his eyeball flies out (!) and hangs for a second in the air in front of the camera. Such a trick would have rolled in comedies with black humor, but not in the cult slasher. For Rick's Flying Eye 8/10.
It is not known what prompted Steve Miner after a wonderful sequel to shoot another, but more skittish. Whether the commercial success of the second part, or the hope that if the film is in 3D, it will be forgiven a lot.
Despite all the flaws and blunders, I still love this film and will give it a shot.

In the 80s of the last century. The genre of horror film blooms and smells like a huge number of films in the genre, which do not allow the viewer to relax and relax for a minute. That’s just no matter how successful the pictures were, not many have acquired cult status and even after so many years have a decent fan base and this rare cohort of films definitely includes “Friday the 13th”, the cult status of which cannot be described in words. The director of the first part Sean Cunningham shot a really strong horror film, and director Steve Miner managed to repeat its success. But as you know, it is impossible to enter the same river twice and, unfortunately, the next film in the series was not as good as the previous one.
I can’t say that the movie was really bad. Nope. It is clearly weaker than its predecessor. Although it is clear to the naked eye that Miner once again positions his creation with no numbered triquel, but rather an inseparable continuation of the original film directed by Sean Cunningham. It’s no surprise that the film is largely identical to the first one. That’s only if the first film of Cunningham and its sequel really pleased with a certain kind of suspense and acute tension, such atmosphericity in this picture is a little dulled and largely due to a certain kind of drag on the picture in terms of narrative.
Perhaps the plot canvas with counselors in the camp looked much more interesting than the story of ordinary ordinary teenagers who decided to have fun, but the fact that imbued with proper sympathy for the main characters of the picture turned out to be extremely difficult. There are no special “pranks” performed by the heroes of the picture, unlike the heroes of the previous picture. As well as the brains that make them act sometimes with absolutely amazing stupidity. When the complete absence of any bright actors, as well as excessive theatricality and playfulness of actors allows you to perceive them purely as cannon fodder. The only exception is Dana Kimmell. And that is largely because of his pretty appearance.
The film raises a lot of questions. Where do local law enforcement agencies look? Where are the police always disappearing and why is the territory of Crystal Lake, which takes the lives of so many people, not cordoned off by local authorities? It seems that the creators of the picture forgot about all this and frankly, you cease to pay attention to this. Since despite all the shortcomings of the picture, the director of the film Steve Miner shot a rather strong and exemplary film in the genre, which is still impressive by the sophistication of screen murders and much wider reveals Jason on the screen. Naturally putting on him the long-awaited cult hockey mask, which has long been associated with him.

Friday the 13th: Part 3 is a sequel that turned out to be worse than the previous parts, but it does not turn into a bad movie in principle. The film turned out to be the same atmospheric, tense, mysterious, mystical and insanely interesting for all fans of the genre and the unkillable drowned man from Crystal Lake - Jason Voorhees.
A year after the successful release of the sequel to the film "Friday the 13th", the third part of the franchise about the maniac Jason Voorhees was released on the screens.
To be honest, the third film on the storyline is no different from the previous parts. Once again, the youth company, despite the warnings of a local madman (this time it was a certain old man who replaced Ralph, who was killed in the second part), went towards the Crystal Lake. As always, among the guys there is a couple in love, a joker, the main character. As before, Jason will kill with improvised means with particular cruelty.
But still the third part, taking a similar plot canvas, turned out a little different.
First, Jason will wear his legendary hockey mask for the first time (however, it is not explained why he liked it so much). Second, the band's main prankster - Shelly (Larry Zerner) - was the first time I sympathized - which could not be said about the pranksters from previous films. Thirdly, the place of action is not the youth camp "Crystal Lake", but a private house near it.
As for the main villain, this time Jason played by Richard Brooker was very charismatic. Although his role was wordless, his physique and head proportions combined with the nature of the murders made him a silent maniac. It was only embarrassing that he was finally bald by the third part.
That is what "Friday the 13th" Part 3′′ has been released in 3D and is about the commercial benefits of the creators. Well, the result is obvious - of $ 4 million, the film collected nine times more. But even if it weren’t for 3D, the movie would still pay off. After all, it was here that the creators took the best of the two parts and embodied it in the third film, which was the first attempt to put an end to this slasher.

So, on some not Crystal, but, apparently, not far from it, the lake came to rest another company of teenagers, including a girl, a couple of years ago survived (it is not clear how and why) Jason’s attack, always in the trash stoned hippie, afraid of his own shadow (Shaggy, you?) and unexpectedly unpleasant complexed geek... By a surprising coincidence, it was in the barn of their home that Jason settled down after problems in the last series. And there are completely unnecessary bikers in the plot, thanks to which, however, the massacre does not begin at the end of the film.
The script in the third part, perhaps, worse than the previous ones – the characters are caricatured, there is no logic in the plot, but there is deus ex machina. However, as a horror movie, the third part is much better. And perhaps that is why some genres do not need subtlety. Here the exposition does not take most of the time, the injection of suspense and bloody scenes are given in the right ratio, and the maniac is only scarier from his unreliability. Did the show really need a hockey mask to blossom? By the way, there is a signature reception of “Friday the 13th” – a killer, quietly passing or standing somewhere in the background, while the characters do not see it or only see a glimpse. Notice – I’m not such a fan of slashers, I didn’t watch them too much and not too attentively, and I admit that there is such a thing everywhere – but this is how vividly and deliberately I noticed it in the series about Jason (as the view “out of the eyes” of a maniac I associate with “Halloween”, although he was many places).
In general, the third part is the first one that you can really watch not for the sake of introducing to the classics. I advise you to start with her, especially since the plot of previous episodes does not affect her in any way.
In the event of a series of sequels of one picture, then one logical and primary task is set when shooting the next series and it does not even consist in box office fees, but in that this next series is something different and personifies pieces of the mosaic from which the general image of the franchise is laid out.
So with the story about the bloodthirsty maniac Jason Voorhees, and he appeared in all the "beauty" only in the second part, and then the third and again with him, it is necessary to develop the character, which, in general, the writers did, and the director Stephen Miner continued his work with Jason (Miner shot the second part). And the personification of the image of the entire franchise here was a moment with the paraphernalia of the main character. Jason Voorhees puts on his famous hockey mask, well, you can also include baggy clothes of dirty green color, but the main thing is the mask, there is no question. Even the machete in the hands of Jason is not as representative and recognizable as the element of sports protection on the disfigured face.
And if I said about the entourage of the tape, then I should move on to the movie itself. In fact, it is a continuation of the second part, since we find Jason in almost the same position as he was left in the finale of the second film. And now this monster rises from the dead (as it seemed that he had died, and no), and again a group of young guys comes to him for a bloody feast.
Then logical questions begin to arise. The first one is, why is it that young people are attracted to this Crystal Lake where a serial killer is operating, or have no one been notified about it? This raises a second logical question: where do authorities look when people disappear in groups in the same place? In continuation of the same question, we can add: in general, where does the police, who are constantly staying, look when everything is over or they lack strength? After all, according to the most minimal calculations, Jason Voorhees has already sent twenty people to the next world!
These questions, the answers to which are not, lead to the fact that the franchise "Friday 13" begins to lose its logical essence, because the mystical rebirth from the dead Jason Voorhees to the illogical in "Friday 13" can not be attributed, this is the only way to explain his ability to restore, but if the main character has some power, it is not terrible, the viewer will understand, but if his surrounding action begins to deviate from the norm, then even the attitude to the picture changes in a negative direction.
Despite the fact that Jason becomes even more creepy, even a disfigured face is not as frightening as this thug in a hockey mask, the box office is 9 times ahead of the invested funds, but this I will attribute to the trend after the success of the previous two parts among my target audience and the release of this part a year after the second, but "Friday 13" begins to go beyond simple logic, and it was not worth it.
Friday the 13th, Part 3 is a 1982 American horror film. The third film turned out to be the most interesting and the best, and for me personally this is my favorite part. The plot in this film is original and from all parts, I like this one. In it, the characters were pleasant, and pity the guys, and the mysterious maniac Jason personifies horror and fear and frightens with his eternal silence and his terrifying and gloomy essence. This film takes you into a youth story in which Jason again brutally and sophisticatedly kills his victims. He has no composure, and Jason Voorhees will always be one of the darkest and most frightening maniacs in American cinema.
We see how the young people went to the lake house to relax and have fun, but they did not know that there was something waiting for them, which emanates horror and fear in the face of Jason, who cruelly and mercilessly kills people who meet him on the way in the vicinity of the lake.
I didn’t know any of the actors, but they all played well and that’s the cast I like the most. Dana Kimmell played in this film emotionally and sensually, and I remember her and liked her in this horror film.
“Friday the 13th Part III” is a chilling horror thriller about a series of brutal murders, and in this story there were thirteen corpses whose lives Jason took, and the entire film is saturated with anxiety and something mysterious and dark. I think it’s the best of all the parts, and I gladly revisited it many years later. Watch Friday the 13th, Part 3 and feel the dark and cold presence of a ruthless and mysterious maniac, whose face is better not to see, and it is hidden under a hockey mask.

I noticed the mention of this tape in the film by Ruben Fleischer “Success in 30 Minutes”. There, Danny McBride's hero, along with a friend, is watching the third Friday the 13th. They watched in a home theater in 3D. They did all sorts of things to Jason. I remember being surprised when it was rewired into a new format.
A little later I found out that the third part was originally made this way. In short, I learned that the format was invented a long time ago. And Cameron and Rodriguez just got him back. But that's another story.
In a way, this part has become epochal. It's not as nervous as the first two movies. And there's no such horror. Probably because I haven’t seen it in 3D. It is an incredible naturalism.
But everything can be forgiven for one reason. More precisely, an act. Jason is wearing a hockey mask. All. He walks on the platform, carelessly aiming from the harpoon. He pulls the trigger. It's done. He contemptuously drops the used harpoon and walks back to home. This scene is great.
Jason has decided and formed. This movie was supposed to be the last in the series. Steve Miner thought so.
But this is another new beginning. And very high quality. There are interesting ideas and unexpected moves. Just not too scary. Although there are more murders than in the first tapes.
Girls are nicer. There's even bikers pulling gas. And, of course, the barn.
There's even a 3D blunder. I don't usually pay attention to it. But it just flashed in my eyes. When the characters sit in a small yellow car, almost the entire crew is reflected in the windows. It was fun.
It is possible to understand that the movie is made for 3D, and with a simple viewing. A lot of objects try to pierce the viewer’s eyes. Well, that's a tempting offer. You should probably find a copy of the movie.
Fangoria magazine was spotted. It was dedicated to Tom Savini, a makeup genius. And there was an article about Godzilla. Very informative.
In general, a good film, quoting the first film and starting (or rather, continuing) the cycle about Jason Voorhees.

I liked the third part less than the first and second. In general, this is a common situation when the third part of the story begins nonsense. No, it's certainly not a crazy script and idea, but, as I think, starting with the second part, the writers on the plot do not really soar.
Heroes, in general, are new. Even Jason will appear to us in a way that has not appeared in previous films. And warning stupid teenagers about the danger will be new, but still crazy. That is, in general, everything seems to be in a new way, but in fact one scenario skeleton, on which only some external things change. And in this sense, it is no longer interesting.
I must say that Jason looks more intimidating here. He will appear in that famous mask, in that easily recognizable image in which we used to see and know this character. And he looks like a real maniac here.
The murders are completely unsophisticated. And it's disappointing. They're predictable and naive. But, do not forget to make a discount on the time when this picture came out. When the audience was not spoiled.
Like any other franchise, "Friday 13" became the way of conveyorship. For better or worse, I’m not the one to judge, because I’ve always liked this series. And the third film about the famous massacre on Crystal Lake I also liked.
It all starts with a prologue in which we are shown the ending of the second film and that Jason is not dead. Next are the titles in 3D format (of which later). Then, as is customary in this genre, there is an introductory scene, where the two were unlucky, leading us to the right mood. After all these stamped and well-known attributes, there is an acquaintance with a company that leaves for the weekend, to the lake, and then, everything is already clear. In principle, there is nothing new, but it is interesting to watch, in order to see how in the end someone will be allowed to spend.
As for the spending, their variety is much better than in the previous two films. There are cuts in half, and pinning with pitchforks, and even crushing the head. The latter delivered the most because this is the first time Jason has done so. So, we can say that earlier writers had enough imagination for the viewer to experience disgust or horror at someone’s agony.
And all this is shot in the format 3D, which in some frames and half of the murder scenes is visible to the naked eye. Of course, then it just appeared, and it was only in some triquels, but this innovation fulfilled its task, namely, gave some variety in the visual component and helped to collect a not bad box office for the film.
The company on the lake turned out to be motley. I really liked the main character performed by Dana Kimmell. The girl was much prettier than her predecessors and played much better. A vivid confirmation of the latter is the final 10 minutes of the film. Larry Zerner played the guy Shelley, who turned out to be the freshest character in all three films. He's both a jester, a movie lover, a merry man, and a shy kid. David Katims and Rachel Howard - a couple of hippie cookies and that's it. The first one looks like Tommy Chong. Katrien Parks is just the most beautiful girl in the film. There are also bikers, a love couple and a farmer, but there is nothing interesting in them.
Jason Voorhees looks impressive. In this film, he began to look as we know him, and all thanks to the fact that he found a hockey mask, which is one of the most recognizable business cards of the series.
Friday, the 13th, part 3 came out as the strongest slasher without any overdoses and shortcomings. The film clearly demonstrated the ability to hold the brand, showed 3D, the fashion for which was still then. And gave the series a variety, both in murders and in the dynamics of what is happening on the screen.

The third part of the franchise, known so far, was a failed film.
That was a few months ago. It was a normal day. And I decided to get acquainted with the hits of the 80s. With all the horror movies. Such as Halloween, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th. First in line was the Halloween franchise. Perhaps, if time and muse permit, someday I will write about some part of the Michael Myers saga. But for now, my attention is focused on the life story of Jason Voorhees. However, I will probably compare the already legendary horror movies more than once. I will try not to overdo it in comparisons, so as not to depart from the description of this part of the film series about Jason. Unfortunately, this review will be negative. I expected something better. I still have 8 more films and a remake. I hope my opinion changes. I couldn’t help but write about this bad movie.
I'll start with my favorite. The time and the ability of the creators will be used correctly. The duration is only 95 minutes. By modern standards, they're crumbs. But what happens on the screen seems to last much longer. From the beginning, from the scene repeating the finale of the second film. Then follows the scene of the first murder, no matter who, which has already become an indispensable attribute of absolutely any horror sequel. Why stretch everything like that? If we take a repetition of the end of the second picture - this is a very good move to remind those who watched and acquaint the ignorant with what was and what is in question. But why repeat a full five minutes of screen time with just one extra frame at the end? In the second part of Halloween everything was done professionally. About the initial murder - well, it's just too long. I will not write much about the further development of the plot, and everyone already perfectly understands in what vein the main action takes place. One can only complain that the course of action of the second part is completely copied. Someone will tell me that all slashers are alike. Yeah, I agree. But so copy the previous part and imitate some parody in some moments on the first part. It's all very wrong somehow. Take at least a very ridiculous moment on the boat. And I'm just going to focus on a couple of blunders in the script. For example, the story of one of the girls. It was night, Jason showed up, stalking, memory lapse, bed. Well, that's okay. A little question arises. When did this all happen, and what does it have to do with the local celebrity? I don't understand. And how not to mention excessive mobility, perhaps the same heroine. It is very easy to get confused in the victims. The log on top was not round, but very convenient shape. Sit and sit. Gentlemen writers, you made a mistake here. I can't help but pay tribute to one of the creators. The one who thought of disfiguring Jason's face. The Halloween experience seems to have affected again. On the one hand, you can still hire different actors, on the other – fans will not shout about when they will be shown the face of their favorite. By the way, only in the third part appeared the famous mask.
Smoothly move on to heroes and actors. So, the famous Jason Voorhees. I can’t tell you much about the actor, as is clear from my previous paragraph. As for the image. I will note the invulnerability characteristic of such characters, which began to appear here. And that wouldn't be weird. If only for one thing. In the previous film, Jason barely coped with one girl. Immediately, from one victim to another, he has more and more strength. And the conditions remained absolutely the same. It seems that Voorhees does not live in the forest and eats anything, but regularly visits the gym and observes an excellent regime of the day. And of course, the axe scene is striking. All right, all the other injuries, but this. The viewers must understand me. Too unrealistic hint of the continuation left the creators in this part. All right, let's attribute Jason's immense power to his almost mystical destiny. The rest of the actors, even considering that it seems that many of them are not professionals, played somewhat flat. That word, for some reason, came to me while watching. In the previous two parts, too, not all were pros, but they I believed, empathized. There's no such thing. I noticed one positive example. There is no extensive nudity, and the girls are beautiful by nature. In modern horror films, it has already become normal that half of the film we see the fair sex in swimsuits consisting of threads, and the second - the murder of all these half-naked girls. It's all normal here. And there is a place for beautiful bodies, and at the same time, the film does not smell of any youth eroticism.
It’s very interesting when you can write about a very popular theme of today, and one of the most widely circulated these days, about a 1982 movie. As you can see, I’m going to criticize the 3D format. Yeah, he wasn't just miserable in the 2000s. Some points were made, exceptional for this format and it is immediately visible. Many of them were out of place at all. Like a yo-yo toy. And some are frankly funny. Here, of course, beat everyone and all the eyes flying into the viewer. Even in the current animated film Pirates: The Gang of Losers, the episode with the super-evil flag loses here in all articles. Seriously, I was laughing wildly, despite the fact that the scene was conceived, probably, as the creepiest in the whole film. No one doubts that back in 1982, it was a novelty. But as a malicious fan of this format, I only hope that the audience was not charged a lot of money for such a stupid entertainment. And what is strange, practiced 3D on the third part. One example is Jaws 3D and, of course, this movie. Apparently, everything was determined by the number 3 in the title. So with the titles of films like modern Saws 3D, shamed, but otherwise and can not say, not only in our time.
And finally, we can say about the poor choice of scenery and places to shoot. Where's the legendary lake? Where's the famous camp? Instead of them, some small puddle and several houses with a huge outdoor shed. What a shed, what a huge amount of household equipment, with which this shed is stuffed and which the killer uses so actively. In my opinion, a very strange element in the atmosphere of a children's camp. As a result, we have the third part of the famous series, which disgraced the entire franchise with its appearance.
Friday the 13th Part 3: How Jason Finds His Mask and Becomes Sweet
After the success of the (box office) first two parts of “Friday”, the conveyor with a noisy hum worked, and it was lowered the third part of this epic. According to that fashion, the third film of the series was treated with a file during production so that it was in 3D (the third Jaws and Amityville Horror were also made in volumetric format). This product was presented to people.
How is it different from the first two episodes? I don’t know... the actors don’t show anything supernatural again, and many people’s faces are blown out of their minds five minutes after watching. The director is not going to please us again with his exquisite tastes, and just shows the massacre. And the screenwriter with zeal, worthy of praise, echoes him, not endowing his work with steep plot twists, but telling a direct, like German freeways, the story of insignificant, nondescript Homo sapiens and the noble Jason who will come and reward them with eternal peace.
The biggest difference is Jason himself. Instead of an angry gardener with a bag on his head in the second part, we got a tightly folded, calm guy who busily butchers people into parts. And, of course, one day he will snitch some fat-headed joker and take away from him... Hockey Mask!! Yes, the same, already cult.
Well, Mr. Voorhees got a hockey mask (and an axe to his head, but that’s not the point now), and there are many more parts to this amazing epic. I'll get to them soon, and this part:
7 out of 10
P.S. – scored due to the fact that the creators stuffed their heads and finally brought the image of Voorhees in order.
