The passions of Samrata. The captain of the large transport ship “Samraat” Chavla unexpectedly discovers in the hold of his ship a contraband cargo from boxes filled to the top with gold bars. There is a coup, there is a fight between the members of the team, and the exploded “Samraat” goes under water. Unwilling to collude with the criminals, the captain also disappears with the direct involvement of the mafia. The mystery of the disappearance of the captain is engaged in his daughter Suman.
In this dangerous business, she is assisted by two gentlemen of luck, named Ram and Raj.
This film I first watched at some festival, consisting of a number of different genres (now I don’t remember what) paintings, held in our city. I only remember the Indian film “Samraat”.
Obviously, it was recently bought, brought and did not even have time to duplicate and make Russian credits at the beginning of the film.
All this was done later, also the film has another alternative title, invented by Soviet distributors “Gold from the Abyss”.
And then, at the very beginning, the novelty from Bollywood was shown with a voiceover translation. I remember going to this movie with my dad and sister. Unfortunately, they are no longer there, but memories remain.
The film employs the best actors and actresses of Indian cinema. Hema Malini and Dharmendra, Zinat Aman and Jitendra. In the role of the head of the crime syndicate Ranveer starred Amjad Khan, known to us from the film “Revenge and the law”, where he played the cult charismatic and cynical bandit Gabbar Singh. Here he plays, perhaps not so shockingly, but at one glance at him you realize that this one will take everything from everyone and, on occasion, rob not only his friendly entrepreneurs, but also his own father. Anyway, the shark of business. To become her own mother, who is present here, lives with her son in a chicly furnished bungalow and is also passionate about the goal of her own enrichment. She behaves just as aggressively and unceremoniously, and sometimes you don’t understand if she is in charge here and is in charge of all these unscrupulous affairs. In this role, the actress Shashikala, who gained fame in the 1960s, is occupied.
Zinat Aman – here she is simply irresistible, impressive, playful and sexy, with a glass of wine in her hand.
Her character is capable of many things, it only takes a chance to prove it. And so he introduced himself.
No less decisive and Jennifer, the daughter of the assistant captain Chavla - the heroine of another Indian "dream gir'l Hema Malini." The creature looks more fragile than the man nicknamed “Tiger” that is next to it. However, when you first meet her, you realize that a dangerous descent along a mountain river is not such a bad idea. She is hot both in personal relationships and in extreme motorcycle riding. Needless to say, Jennifer will also easily give back to any offender. Therefore, viewers who have not yet watched the film are waiting for dangerous adventures, and with them the pleasure of watching what they see.
You can forget about boredom and earthiness here, about romantic fog too. Temperamental heroes plunge headlong into love, passions boil and boil. A lot of trouble will bring the heroes and the criminal component of the film. As is often the case in Indian cinema, new unexpected circumstances will also be revealed. But with such actors, the film could not be different. Otherwise, it would not have been understood by many fans of Indian film stars engaged in the film. And they, of course, tried and invested in the film maximum energy, all the inherent female devilry, grace and charm, all male brutality and strength.
The film also features sun, air and water. A lot of water! And its underwater beauty and inhabitants. Watching a movie like this is like visiting an exotic resort. For example, in Goa, in the settings of this wonderful retro film.
