“As we argue, so we reconcile!” I will not brag, dear, I know what I am saying: I will take a star from the sky and give it as a souvenir! About me all people will say: my heart is pure and unhurried, or am I not beautiful enough on your scale?
Films of the Soviet era are inseparable from the history of the country. The least films were shot in the USSR during the so-called “Stalin’s small picture”, when Stalin in 1950 decided that the Leninist principle “better less, but better” should operate in the film industry. In these years, many films-performances appear on the wide screen, among which there are real pearls. However, the mid-50s is a time of change. The country rises from ruins after a terrible war. Like a phoenix, it rises from the ashes – houses are built, villages are raised, whole cities are rebuilt. Cinema reflects all of these changes.
I would walk without discouragement past your village, only a field stitch brought you forever. Nothing bad for a friend, nothing bad for a friend. Why should you walk by, by my sight?
The play “Wedding” was written by the Soviet Komi playwright and director Nikolai Mikhailovich Dyakonov in 1949. Her production at the Moscow Theatre of Satire was awarded the Stalin Prize of the third degree (1951). Anatoly Glebovich Glebov’s considerable merit in this – his translation of the play made it exactly what the Soviet and then Russian audience used to see it. The film version of the play appeared in 1953 after the stunning success of the musical comedy in the production of the Moscow Theater of Satire. Especially for the performance, the poet Alexei Fatiyanov wrote three songs: “The steppe blooms with forests”, “On your porch” and “I won’t brag, darling” ("Kurochkin’s Cuplets). The music for the songs was written by Boris Mokrousov.
"I work well, I've been rewarded many times." It is a pity that you are sorely missed in your personal life! For this explanation, I knocked on your window to invite you to a movie on Sunday at nine forty-five.
Boris Ivanovich Ravensky staged the play, but to make it a film version, invited film director Tatiana Nikolaevna Lukashevich, who had similar experience behind her. As a result, an amazing musical comedy feature film-performance was released on the wide screens of the country. In 1972 it was restored. The original version was reduced by a few minutes, but the viewer will not notice this, because against the background of songs and dances, such flaws are completely invisible. With the release of the tape on the wide screen, the number of people who want to touch the wonderful musical comedy has grown many times, exceeding 50 million. It continues to grow constantly, because there are those who first discover this amazing cinema and theater world.
"Because of you, my cherry, I am quarreling with a friend." How the climate here affects love. I yearn for my neighbourhood, and at a distance, oh! without you, I am unable to live without a heart.
Each character in this fascinating story can be talked about for a long time and with ecstasy, because there are no secondary or non-main characters. Not for the simple reason that remove someone – immediately formed an unfilled void. Is it possible to call Fyodor-harmonist (Mikhail Dorokhin) secondary? It has all the musical flavor on it! And the brisk, twisted, prickly Lyuba Bubenchikova (Galina Kozhakina) - is she in the second roles? And the wise grandfather Avdey Spiridonovich (Vladimir Dorofeev)? Of course, the viewer has the right to control their preferences. It is possible that Maxim Orlov (Vladimir Ushakov) may seem a little “cardboard”, and Olga (Vera Vasiliev) – too sharp, straightforward and even rude. What to do – such characters: “sinless” foremen from different collective farms. However, there is a character to which, from whichever side you approach, there are only positive emotions. This is Nikolai Kurochkin (Vitaly Doronin) - a soul-man, albeit careless. What kind of energy comes from it! A real man of celebration! It may not be more than five seconds in a row, but what a fun man! Together with the incomparable Luceria Pokhlebkina performed by the inimitable Tatiana Peltzer, they form a truly unique miracle duo. Talent in any guise is talent, dress it in gold or rags. Such a movie is like an invaluable elixir. Like the elixir of life: you watch it and want to live.
If I have to go through all the paths, those that fortunately lead, I will pass: I will not forget their century! I love you so much that you can never, never, never stop loving me ..." (" On your porch, every evening together ..." lyrics by A. Fatiyanov, music by B. Mokrousov)
