After watching quite a lot of French cinema, you can see a lot: complete disappointment, and pleasant surprises. Taxi falls into the second category. Racing, action, speed – this is how you can describe the film in three words.
The story follows a young taxi driver named Danielle who turns his mundane job into an exciting adventure when his taxi is chased by a gang of bank robbers. He teams up with police inspector Emily, and together they begin to chase criminals through the streets of Paris.
The main emphasis in the film is on racing and car chases, where steep maneuvers are used to catch bandits. It looks great and easy, that’s why I loved the movie. The French tried and they managed to impress with acrobatics.
Racing is cool, but it also has a lot of comedy. The humor of the film is quite light and understandable, which allows you to enjoy the picture.
Yes, there is nothing supernatural about it that could surprise you. Although no, there is, and this is the cast I will write about below. Admittedly, many people wanted Peugeot after the movie? I had one, and once I even bought one just because she was in a movie. The taxi, unfortunately, did not work, but the car was.
All right, now for the actors. Sami Naseri is the young taxi driver who played the main role. Excellent actor. I would even say it's the "Icon" of the movie. Frederic Diefenthal is a chic game paired with Sami. Well, I would also like to highlight Marion Cotillard – pleasantly surprised with her beautiful play and the embodiment of her character. In general, I like to watch films in which there is no “winning” at the expense of popular faces – there are few familiar actors you will see.
For me, this film was “cult” and definitely one of the best films in my piggy bank. I liked everything: the dynamics, the elements of comedy, the concept of the actors. “Taxi” is not just a movie, it is a real driving adventure that makes you press the gas pedal even in your head.

The legendary creation of Luc Besson, who because of the employment on the "Fifth Element" passed the director to Gerard Pires. This “Taxi” is a cult race on a sports “Peugeot” under the control of a driver without a driver’s license – Daniel. In his partners, he has a policeman who gets into unpredictable situations all the time, and at the same time did not pass the driving exam.
Classic stories about robberies fade into the background, introducing viewers to each of the characters separately. Yes, as a child, often played on TV "Taxi 2", which has become much more popular than the original, but it is better to start from the beginning. This is a pizza delivery man and a race-hungry Daniel, a middle-class man. The force of speed attracts him more than traffic, so in a comic tone, the picture puts him behind the wheel. Emilien is an inept police officer who tries to figure out a series of robberies.
It is quite interesting after numerous views of the sequel to see how the heroes met, how the general and his daughter are connected with the dashing taxi driver, how the gendarmes are represented by Commissioner Gibert in the impeccable performance of Bernard Farsi. It feels like the heroes have been with you for a long time, and this is just another chapter. In general, nostalgia for this franchise makes itself felt.
The picture is filled with races, chases, tuning cars and a hidden gang on the Mercedes. The plot brings the characters together, sets the conditions to use Daniel to catch a gang of riders. “Taxi” refers to the list of comedy action films that will not insert a thriller, beautifully solve the crime, surprise the denouement and embellish everything with comedy. The chase, the surveillance, Daniel’s knowledge of the features of the car – all this is mixed with the detective component.
The iconic French franchise that introduced many viewers of the late 90s to French comedy. Unfortunately, over time, the tape tried to stay afloat, but the third part took a step back, and besides, it was difficult to compete with Triple Furious, and the fourth film, although it developed further than the stories of friends, did not highlight the features of the series. The fifth film acted as a tombstone over the entire franchise.
“Taxi” is not just a story about a taxi driver and a police officer, it is an entire era with different characters who are responsible for the presentation of humor. Despite the fact that the abundance of intimacy in the first film exceeds the timekeeping of the rest of the parts, the picture does not lose its funny color. Racing, lotions "Peugeot", the constant twists of Daniel - this is all almighty machine, which gadgets will give a head start to cars "bonds".
I’ve heard a lot about Luc Besson’s French film series Taxi. A few years ago, I watched the first part, but apart from the finale, the film did not make a special impression on me. Then I heard a lot of positive reviews, several times I saw parts of the film on TV, and I decided to watch the first film again. And then again. And all subsequent parts are behind him! I finally got a taxi! I open the new film year with a series of films that closed the previous year.
A native of Marseille and a lover of dashing riding, Daniel leaves his job as a pizza deliveryman on a motorcycle, transfers to the wheel of a white Peugeot car and starts working as a taxi driver. However, anyone who gets in his taxi and asks to go somewhere faster, waiting for a real race: after all, the Daniel Peugeot in a minute turns into a real racing car that flies through the streets of the city at a speed of 300 km / h! Daniel is having trouble with the police. Meanwhile, the banks of the city are raided by a gang in red Mercedes, and not the most successful inspector Emilien turns to Daniel for help to find the elusive bandits.
The plot of the first part (and all the rest) is incredibly simple, which is its beauty: no complex and intricate labyrinths, but quite an ordinary story. Which develops at times very unusual: when in the capture of a gang of robbers the police helps an ordinary taxi driver. The action develops very dynamically - literally for several days, without unnecessary exposures and problems, because of which the film looks on a single breath.
And the main thing that makes you watch Taxi is racing through the streets of Marseille. It is amazing that all this was shot in the late 90s and it looks so spectacular and natural (some special effects probably were, but they are not particularly noticed). Particularly noteworthy is Daniel’s car, which is already on a par with such legendary movie cars as Delorian Marty and Doc, Aston Martin James Bond and Ectomobile Ghostbusters: a white Peugeot 406, which at the click of a couple of buttons turns from an ordinary taxi into a racing car that will not stop any police car or fancy Mercedes, and which has long become a symbol of the series. Good, and the humor of the film, which is not only typical comedic jokes, but also such things as the problems of immigrants and really stupid situations that get Marseille police. That was really hilarious! Many people associate the song "Misirlou" with Taxi (and not only with the song "Blacked-Eyed Peas").
I love French cinema because of its talented actors. Although I do not often watch, but the actors admire me every time. Nasseri/Daniel and Frederick Diefenthal make up an excellent comedy duo of seemingly impossible partners who surprisingly work well and get along with each other. Daniel is his own guy who loves his business (namely, high-speed races through the streets of Marseille), jokes with the cops and dreams of a completed date with his beloved girl Lily (Marion Cotillard), which is always interrupted at the most interesting place for various reasons. Emilien is a nervous police inspector who cannot pass on his license, gets into trouble at work all the time and is in love with his colleague Petra (Emma Sjoberg), a stunning German who is cooler than him in every way. Daniel and Emilien, after going through a path of mutual hamstrings and skirmishes, team up to track down the elusive gang in the Mercedes - after all, Daniel knows about cars, and Emilien is good at improvising in difficult moments. In the small but bright role of the humorous police commissioner Gibert shines Bernard Farsi - while in the first part he appeared briefly, but already comes up with funny names for operations!
Taxi is a great start to one of the most successful franchises, not standard American, but from and to French production. It looks surprisingly easy and exciting, not a single extra minute, lays the groundwork for subsequent equally cool films.

This film at one time became a cult, because it successfully mixed the genre of racing and comedy. I review it every year to improve my mood. The plot tells us about the boy Daniel, who quits the pizza delivery and gets a taxi, but his work car is converted into a sports car, so this is the fastest taxi in the world. There is another hero, namely the aspiring police officer Emilien, who one day under threat of deprivation of rights forces Daniel to cooperate with him to catch a gang of German robbers who rob banks exclusively with the help of Mercedes cars. In the future, this friendship will extend to another 4 films. The plot is basically fun. It does not have strong plot twists, but watching how criminals are caught is interesting. Given that Daniel is not a bad detective. The police of Marseille, with Commissioner Gibert at the head, is very comical. They can't do anything normally and are constantly messing around. Cinematography at Taxi is good. The footage is dynamic and vivid, a lot of visual humor (the same police accidents). Acting is good. Farsi, in my opinion, played the best of all, because the image of Gibert is forever remembered by the audience. Naseri plays cool, too. His characters were cool and humorous. Another of the advantages of the film is the coolly shot races on cars, especially in the final scene. Over. I highly recommend it!
- The speed limit sign says 90 km/h. - I thought it was for skateboards.
Who doesn't know the movie Taxi? The French comedy action film, the script of which was written by Luc Besson, at one time made a lot of noise. Two friends - a taxi driver and a policeman-loser, so loved by the audience that subsequently there were three more sequels (a fifth of the count is not taken), and in Hollywood even made a free remake of this film, called "New York taxi".
Daniel is a pizza delivery man and also a hothead. He quits his old job to do what he loves. Becoming a taxi driver, he quickly became famous for delivering his customers much earlier, because of his manner of fast driving. One day he accidentally attracts the attention of police officer Emilien, who decides to recruit a taxi driver to help catch robbers.
I'm ambiguous about Luc Besson's films. Of all the films he made personally, I can only call a few really fit. In terms of writing scripts, he is much better. From the pen of Besson came many favorite films, including this one. The Taxi franchise began in 1998.
It would seem that the plot is simple to the point of impossibility and lies on the surface, but for some reason no one thought of it before. As they say, everything genius is simple. The story is interesting and easy to understand, but at the same time unpredictable. You'll never guess what happens next. And so on for four episodes.
As with many films, the story begins with an introduction as well as an introduction to the main characters. A little later, the plot begins to accelerate slowly. Easily and unobtrusively weave new details, details and even characters. The narrative gently brings the viewer to the climax, and then the denouement. And a natural, though expected, finale.
Since the film is French, and I am not familiar with their cinema, the actors are little known to me. However, over the years, the main (and even secondary) roles have already been loved, and with each sequel I discovered new faces. For example, Marion Cotillard, whom I knew long before she made her career in Hollywood. Well, the performers of key roles Sami Naseri and Frederick Diefenthal have become one of the favorite actors.
Despite the fact that the film is an action movie, the comedy component here is developed no less. And the humor is light, not vulgar, and really funny. Oddly enough, but the main suppliers of comedy scenes and dialogues are not the main characters, but secondary. Bernard Farcy and Edward Montout have been entertaining us for most of the series. But of course Frederic Diefenthal and Sami Naseri sometimes give the heat. The most interesting thing is that in the Hollywood remake they tried to do a comedy with elements of an action movie. And they did it so well.
As for genre affiliation, everything is in the best traditions of militants. The emphasis is mainly on races and chases, but there are also shootings, plus a bunch of action scenes, the number of which, with each new part, only increases. Maybe there are no sharp explosions or fights, but the feature of the franchise “Taxi” in another.
A great example of how to disperse a whole franchise out of a simple idea. And, oddly enough, this is the rare case where the sequels turned out much better than the original. Of course, except for the fifth film, from which almost the entire caste escaped. But the first part is at a very high level.
Taxi is a cult comedy by no less iconic director Luc Besson, which has been viewed and revised a dozen times already, and each time the film is as good as when it was first viewed. The ageless story of the crazy taxi driver Daniel, forced to cooperate with the police-loser Emilien to catch the “gang in red Mercedes”, still causes interest and can cause a smile.
Simple, but colorful characters quickly attract and fall into memory. The images were bright and often funny. Emilien and Commissioner Gibert have the lion’s share of the humor of the picture. And the central duo of trouble-catching Emilien and sensible Daniel looks great. At the same time, it cannot be said that the main characters turned out to be one-sided and flat - these are well-written characters with their advantages and disadvantages. The second plan, of course, serves more to reveal the central characters (as, for example, the love interest of Emilien - the fighting girl of Peter), but nevertheless even the secondary characters received colorful images.
The action is mostly about cars, which is not surprising. Again, from the height of 2022, we cannot say that the racing episodes now look interesting in themselves, differ in some unique production. But still they maintain the dynamics of the picture at the proper level and sufficiently entertain and distract from the conversational and plot component.
Verdict: Taxi is a real classic. It’s a great movie that doesn’t get tired of watching. Unambiguous recommendation.
So, the Taxi movie is probably my favorite movie from my childhood. And what boy will not like exciting chases, cool cars and charismatic main characters? It is not surprising that the film is rightfully in the TOP 250 Film Search.
The main characters are taxi driver Daniel and cop-loser Emilien, who by coincidence are forced to work together to catch a gang of criminals robbing banks. In the role of the director is Luc Besson.
By genre, this film is more a comedy than an action movie. There will be no scenes of violence and cruelty. I'd say it's an adventure comedy that's suitable for the whole family to watch. The film was shot by the French, so the humor here is at the highest level. Commissioner Gibert, head of Marseille's police force, is particularly attracted. He always comes up with some ideas, which then, naturally, end in a natural failure.
Separately, I want to focus on musical accompaniment. The soundtrack to this film has become a cult and even if for some reason you have not watched this movie yet, the soundtrack has definitely been heard somewhere.
How can I not say about Daniel’s car? You will not see this on the streets of your city! Classic Peugeot 406, but with special tuning. And you will see the movie when you see it!

Incredibly charming and in a good old-fashioned French comedy
Marseille, France. Emelien is a hapless but very diligent young police officer. Daniel is a born racing driver who has equipped his Peugeot to the level of a racing car.
Together they organize a perfect tandem of partners, opposing the Germans in Mercedes, the Japanese in Mitsubishi and the Chinese, oddly enough, on rollers. . .
It seems to be a very simple and predictable movie.
This is a classic comedy, where humor is built on eccentricity. In the style of those French films that de Funes and company in the 60s issued a couple a year.
It is this manner, shifted to modern Marseille, gives the "Taxi" that incredible charm, to break away from which it is impossible.
The film depicts France very well. The authors do not hide the existing problems (which is rare). Immigrants, laziness, police stupidity - all this is elegantly played out, but diluted with a great love for their car industry, beautiful flights along the Alps, sandwiches and croissants and the indispensable Eiffel Tower (against the background of which there is a spectacular accident of police cars).
At the end of each viewing there is a desire to take a ticket and go there for permanent residence.
In addition, the movie is also well played. Frederic Diefenthal and Sami Naseri are excellent and look amazingly harmonious in tandem. The rest are not far behind, for example, the same young Marion Cotillard, the future winner of the Oscar (what a flair for actresses Luc Besson has).
And what a gorgeous music, thanks to which “Taxi” has become so popular among our compatriots.
This trilogy is a rare example when each subsequent part is better than the previous one, especially the third, New Year.
Moments when the hero of Diefenthal lights from a stream of water, learns that he will become a father or when he again finds himself in the trash when chasing bandits, and the heroes? Naseri once again tries to find the keys to the impregnable Marion Cotillard - for me this is already a classic that I review with great love every time.
P.S.: The 4th and, especially, the 5th part of the franchise do not watch under any circumstances.
Like the American remake.
Quotes:
1. Petra, you should have warned me that you speak Japanese.
- This is in the personal file after the breast volume.
- That's right, I didn't read any more.
2.- Where do they keep assholes like you? Do you work in a circus or a zoo?
- And there and there (shows the police ID).
3.- Where are you going?
- To work.
- At three in the morning?
- Well, all the better: at this time there will be less traffic jams.
4.- Is the child normal?
- The question is quite natural, if you remember who his father is.
- Will I be a dad soon?
- Miracles of deduction. It is not for nothing that you work in the police.

This cult film is very popular in Russia. And not only because it was broadcast on one of the federal TV channels many thousands of times. This French picture is really a wonderful comedy with a large number of interesting characters, each of which in its own way makes the viewer laugh and amuse.
Daniel - a first-class taxi driver, in a matter of minutes delivering a passenger-client to the right place, is forced under the threat of deprivation of rights to help a bad cop in catching a gang of robbers who have the same good driving skills as he.
Emilien is a misfit but enterprising police officer who wants to catch a gang of German robbers at all costs, not only for the sake of justice, but also to impress a sexy colleague.
Gibert is the police commissioner, Emilien’s boss, perhaps the best of the secondary characters who appeared in all the films of the franchise. His comedic appearances are so funny that it is difficult to refrain from laughing even if you have seen them more than once.
Lily is Daniel’s friend, Petra is Emilien’s dream, his mother and Alain, a black inspector, together form an invaluable complex of magnificent supporting characters ready to laugh with joy.
By the way, it was in this film that Marion Cotillard (Lili) became widely known and subsequent sequels contributed to the development of her international career, which culminated in worldwide recognition for the role of Edith Piaf in the film ' Life in the Pink'.
It is a pity that Sami Naseri - the main character of the film, and could not cope with his character in ordinary life and frankly ruined his acting career, which sharply declined after the fourth part of the franchise.
As a result, 'Taxi' is one of the most fascinating comedies of French cinema, which to this day looks fresh and attractive.
The first time I saw this movie was when I was 12 years old. I remember it as a very bright and positive tape. Revisiting Taxi is like going back to my childhood for a while, so I was positive.
Plot. Danielle works in a taxi, loves fast driving and constantly jostles in his car through the streets of Marseille. After a while, he accidentally meets Emilien, who works in the police. Emilien convinces the “racer” to help him with the capture of criminals who constantly elude the authorities in the “Mercedes”.
The uncomplicated scenario has some fantastic appeal. The authors managed to get the most out of it. It is interesting to follow the adventures of the heroes, and sometimes the tape is even able to quite surprise an unprepared viewer. The final itself is quite predictable, but the plan Daniel used in the last race will be remembered for a long time.
Atmosphere and humor. From the very first shots, the viewer will appreciate the camera work. The cameras in the picture are often mounted right behind the vehicles so you can enjoy the dashing turns and breakneck speed. Don’t expect realism during the shootouts (after all, this is not a criminal genre) – there will be no victims or killed at all. Nasseri himself (Daniel) and Frederick Diefenthal (Emilien) – a beautiful actor duo that quickly became one of the recognizable “chips” of the franchise. All the main characters cause exceptionally positive emotions (with the exception of Lily, who in one of the episodes seems a real rude and hubby). The episode with smoking, by the way, I consider superfluous. I wouldn’t put Taxi on a par with top comedies, but there are a few funny moments here. The trunk scene, the workshop dialogue and the sponsor joke are my personal favorites in terms of humor.
Music. A good and cheerful selection that can create a positive mood and cause a smile. Sometimes it was, of course, strange to listen to French rap, but it is good that it did not spoil the overall impression.
Result. One of the most famous French films, the beginning of a successful and now famous franchise. If you are looking for a light movie for the evening and at the same time love racing, then the choice is obvious. I highly recommend it.
The whole film Gerard Pires (who, for the sake of the public and advertising, was assigned the authorship Luc Besson), as one big irony about the French policemen, reduced to absurdity. And the fact that “Taxi” is one of the most commercially successful film projects in France, once again proves that in the “land of love” people understand and feel humor, and know how to laugh at any problems.
A rather shaky plot about the Marseille racer and his new friendship with the policeman (whom he hates so much), is brilliantly saved by the charismatic acting of the main characters: Sami Naseri and Frederick Diefenthal. Comic dialogues, awkward situations and the sensuality and expressive facial expressions inherent in the French make it possible to close your eyes even to rather ridiculous scenes of shootings and the play of supporting actors (what are the “stiff” Germans and pathetic attempts to be a fatal police lady).
As much as Besson and Pires did not want to create an action movie (albeit with a slight humor), for the most part it turned out only a good comedy, without excessive cruelty and violence. You can even watch with children.
When you look at one part, you don’t have to look at the others. From film to film, the plots are repeated. Mercedes, Japanese, Italian. The director’s fantasy ended after the release of the first part.
The film is a popularization of reckless driving style.
You will see the teenagers of such "Taxi" and let's press the gas "to the floor!" Then we wonder why there are so many crosses along the roads.
No normal person in this taxi will go. Only crazy people drive, just like the driver. The tricks may be good, but nothing more. These tricks are in every movie about racing, which is now a million.
There are no jokes in the movie. You can't call them jokes.
The French do not know how to make good comedies. So are the English. If the French take anything, it is only the charisma of actors and it is very rare.
The promotion of herbs in the film was also infuriated. Disgusting!
After watching the movie, there's a void. Nothing. No sadness, no joy.
Even before the filming of the hit historical action movie with a beautiful wife of Slavic origin in the title role, the famous French filmmaker had the pleasure to write a script for a comedy action movie, which was later destined to become a franchise and gain even greater fame than the super-spectral blockbuster about the holy heroine of France, because the latter accused many educated people of perverting the image of this very warrior and in the presence of fantasy elements, and what turned out to be more necessary for the people - a cheerful, in which you can demonstrate a large number of beauty on the roadside of the city. And, if in 1971, the "Disappearing Point", well-known brand car "Dodge Challenger", at one time set the bar for the next racing action, "Taxi" in 1998 set a new bar, showing even more perfect plot, colorful heroes and sparkling humor. The franchise, started by the Americans in 2001, and now promising to end only in 2021, and with each new part becoming “all the afterburners”, as the hero of a recent film put it, set a level to which it is simply unrealistic to equal an equal, but the people need not extreme entertainment and talk about the family (I myself am not at all one who despises “Fast and Furious” for this), and the charm of a French cheerful taxi driver , by the will of fate, who is forced to help the police, who are forced to catch such a story about the car, after all, you can not give it to the gangsters in the usual way to the world, and show such a gangster, who are not yet to the new ones who are forced to perform such a gangster in the world, and who are not yet to do it, after all. The fourth part showed a more stupid comedy, reminiscent of stupid American parodies, but there is a considerable amount of positivity in the quadriquel. This is where it all started.
The main character of the film Daniel gives his girlfriend a luxurious gift by his standards: shows her a real mass race on motorcycles, but the spectacle is interrupted by the police, demanding documents from the couple, and miraculously they manage to make legs. They waited a month for a date, but there was no luck: Daniel is summoned to a place where he has been waiting for an answer for a long time: he is finally given the right to work as a taxi driver and given a special signal for his car. Daniel gets to work, kindly giving a ride to an elderly lady whose son, working in the police, unsuccessfully tries to pass on the license (in this scene will sound "lucky joke about the circus and the zoo"), and then in his taxi sits an excited man, asking to take him to the airport. Daniel gives him a stunning ride, testing his car for extreme and extremely fast driving. Meanwhile, the Marseille police are trying to catch a German criminal group called Hydra. The same unlucky cop gets into Daniel's taxi, who arranges him an unforgettable trip with consequences that follow from everywhere, after which Daniel learns with horror who he gave up. Now he is faced with a choice: to become a pedestrian, or to work for the police until it helps to catch the “Freaks”, who cannot be called that after all, when the political friction between France and Germany is over. Daniel is as smart as Sherlock Holmes when he investigates the origins of criminals’ machines. But guess how the robbers maneuver with their “Mercedes”, will be possible only when there are a couple of robberies.
Here is a vivid example of how you can capture the attention of a militant, without using an abundance of computer graphics, and how you can make at the same time worry about the outcome of the action and laugh from the heart, and the humor here is the healthiest, which is usually pleasing the French since the best among the many screen adaptations of the Three Musketeers in 1961, as well as the legendary “Fantomas”. A chic comedy, now seems even better than it seemed when watching in 2012, when he preferred the first “Fast and Furious”. All lovers laugh at police comedies, watch it!

- Emilien, news for the record book! Listen. Taxi. How fast is it going?
- 140?
- First. And then he switched to the second.
A similar film could be expected from Hollywood, but why did France take up this fertile subject? And you didn't.
Emilien is a loser cop who can't even turn in his license. At work, everyone is joking, and the authorities do not take it seriously. In the city there are criminals who rob banks, and then deftly get away from the chase in Mercedes cars. But luckily, Emilien accidentally arrests Daniel, a taxi driver with a manic love of fast driving. . .
There's nothing to say. This film by Luc Besson has long become a classic, and was registered on the shelf of favorite films by many fans of the genre. There's everything. And a great plot, and cool chases, and a love line (where else without it), and really good jokes. And if you take into account the fact that nothing like this has not been shot before, then this film can rightfully be considered perfect.
In addition to the main characters, the film also features a bunch of other secondary characters. But the most interesting thing is that they do not remain in the background, but even try to pull the blanket of the viewer’s attention on themselves. Here is the offended girl of the main character. A bit odd, but self-confident police commissioner. A policewoman with an iron character whose attention cannot be attracted by another protagonist. And a bunch of other interesting images, cleverly mixed in one storyline.
There's probably nothing more to say. You have to see it yourself.
Taxi is a movie from my childhood. From the time I first came across The Fifth Element and then other works by Luc Besson when I first saw them. Movies that became a symbol of that time for me. With the work of a talented director, many memories are associated, to which you willy-nilly return and review along with these films.
Yes, in this film Luke acted as just the writer and producer, and the implementation was mainly Gerard Pires, but this does not spoil the overall assessment. It may not be as dynamic as we used to see it, but it has something special about it. Something that started the other three parts.
Speaking of the main roles, I liked the role of Sami Naseri whose role absorbed the features of a simple guy from Marseille interspersed with the traits of an adventurer racer, which became a real calling card.
The first part of the franchise was another masterpiece in the collection of Luc Besson, which is simply impossible to describe – it must be seen.

These words are not so much admiration as surprise – after “The Carrier”, the script for which Luc Besson also wrote, I did not expect anything good from “Taxi” any more. But this movie surprised me pleasantly. Everything here is in place: jokes, dialogue, events (even if you can not immediately understand them - as in the scene of a shootout with the participation of the Prime Minister), friendship, and of course, love.
Do you have any ideas?
- I won't do it again?
- It's not an idea, it's stupid.
I didn’t feel the speed that Danielle was driving (I felt it in The Carrier). Filming for Formula 1 operators is good, but the drive is lacking. Sounds like me. The intrigue is also not too twisted - however, there are no complaints about this. Marion Cotillard as the girl of the main character, the enviably calm mother of the other main character - very pleasant accents in the film.
And no one was killed in a criminal action movie - this is a big plus, only the fate of people in overturned cars remains a mystery.
Overall, the film is mostly good. The finale is bright and original. And if you are not embarrassed by the criminal element in comedies - your "Taxi" is ready!

The film by Gerard Pires based on the script by Luc Besson turned out to be light, unassuming, riddled with unmaligned irony. Sami Naseri, with his outstanding comedy talent, instantly became famous all over the world.
The plot of the picture does not make you think much: a former pizza deliveryman who loves fast driving became a taxi driver. He is detained by a hapless police officer for speeding and has to help him in his attempts to catch the elusive bank robbers in Mercedes.
This picture is a French smart and funny comedy. But it also touches on the burning issues of modern Western Europe, which fears a global invasion from Asia and Africa. However, the plot is not Asians and Africans are a threat to national security, and the citizens of neighboring Germany.
Very pleased with the music to which Daniel drives through the streets of Marseille, which has become very popular and beyond this picture.

Luke Besson. The man who gave the world such beautiful films as “Leon”, “Fifth Element” and “Nikita”, as well as wrote the script for many films that became cult. So we can safely say that this Frenchman does not knit brooms, and even if he knits, this broom will last centuries. And today I decided to take a look at a picture that was written by Luc Besson, and which I loved so much as a child. So this is a taxi.
The film is not going to go around the bush and immediately acquaints us with the characters of the picture, which are that other couple. So the number one is Daniel Morales. A person who does not get into his pocket for a word, he has a rich life experience that he is ready to share with everyone, flavoring his words with a sufficient dose of cynicism. He also likes to drive fast and not just fast, but super fast, and for this he turned his taxi into a racing car capable of squeezing 217 kilometers per hour. But the scene takes place nowhere, but in France, where the life of ordinary people is quiet and measured, and cars occasionally go at speeds over fifty. So it is not surprising that Daniel thundered into the police station, where he was able to get acquainted with the second participant of this show – Emilem. A man who everywhere and everywhere tries to act on instructions and tries to implement the "genius" ideas of the heroes of the militants of the eighties. Naturally, in both cases, everything ends in a complete fiasco. Also, our brave cop is afraid to drive, and I'll tell you for good reason. Because all of Emilhem's rides end in disaster. Here is such a non-standard duet we get - a dashing rider who didn't care about the rules, and a weak-willed cop who loves to teach other lives despite the fact that he himself does not understand much in life.
Of the secondary actors, police commissioner Jubain played by Bernard Farsi deserves special attention. This is a man who goes out of his way to show how serious he is about his work and that meditation is not a khukhra mukhra and this circumstance makes you remember another police commissioner, Lassar. They have something in common. Perhaps the fact that both of them are loved by subordinates, and perhaps because they cause a smile by their behavior without suspecting it, but in any case the hero turned out to be very bright, yes. The other characters also played their roles well, but in the first film they were not given much screen time, so I will not dwell on them in detail, I will still manage.
As for the plot, despite the small timekeeping of the picture, it will not let you get bored of the good in the frame always something happens. The police mistook the prime minister for a criminal and let's have a shootout with his bodyguards. Here Emilem did another stupid thing, and they decided to introduce him to a dumpster. Morales delivers people in taxis, after which “thankful” passengers say goodbye to their dinner. You won’t be bored, I promise.
Usually in this kind of films suffers the main thing - the picture, but here the creators reasoned reasonably and invited people who can, and most importantly, know how to shoot races and did not lose because the scenes of the chase turned out bright, beautiful and memorable.
As for the music, it turned out energetic and invigorating. And the main composition that plays at the very beginning of the film, you can hear many people as a ringtone on the phone, and this already says something.
Summing up, I want to say that before the viewer there is a bright and memorable spectacle. Albeit with a simple, but this is no less interesting plot, good acting, memorable music, and the camera work is absolutely magnificent. So if you are looking for a film for which you can relax and relax, then pay attention to “Taxi”, you will not regret it.

The fact that you have a medal for special merit does not mean that you will get your rights back.
I was expecting a lot of generosity.
Thank you for being free at all!
I'm on my feet, not free!
Everyone has their own things, without which life loses all its attractiveness. Only of course, if for someone it is speed - in full spirit, imbued with the element of freedom every moment, either helping the passenger to catch such an important flight for him, or just in order to live every second of life fully to the limit ... only the police, they are such bores, do not understand the breadth of soul and the freedom-loving spirit of the restless driver.
Well, is it not enough that on the speedometer one hundred and ninety, the sun was shining in the eyes, it was easy not to notice one and think that only ninety, and it does not matter that in the city at a speed above fifty it is generally forbidden to go. And once the case brings the hurricane taxi driver Daniel with the police officer Emilien hiding behind the mask of a modest programmer, who feels like such a loser and is so eager to finally secure a completely different share. Especially since the attention of such a charming colleague can turn to him if he proves himself to be anything. And Daniel may be his last hope in his upcoming accomplishments.
A lot of humor, often of high quality. Since the film is French, the piquancy, of course, will also be present, you just need to see what, mm, meaningful events separate the characters from the next incident or task. But it's more of a piquancy than a rascal. How not to sympathize with the heroes, when the frantic rhythm of their work prevents smooth, deep and diligent adjustment of their personal life?
Well, what is France without the most exquisite and pretentious cuisine, but the most delicious is usually what a caring mother prepares for her poor son. With thin slices of Emmentaler cheese in the middle and with gorishons... just descriptions of the most wonderful dishes already warms on the soul!
And in the drive, adrenaline, action, dynamics, colorfulness of the lack here not to experience, it will take care of a stunning screen duet with his support group. Dangerous, steep, breathtaking turns of both roads and plot, races, competitions, beauty and resourcefulness. Cougars will catch a bird, and boa consorts will mess with it. Heroes will have to prove themselves in so many different situations! Smell the difference between a Korean and a Korean, explain to whom it is possible that a tourist who was not deceived is not a real tourist. Of course, it would be good to solve the main problem by catching the elusive gang and revealing the secret of what helps criminals to escape from the chase over and over again. And besides, as an added bonus to a successfully completed special mission, what if you realize that your companion is actually a pretty good guy?
Writing a review of such a favorite movie as Taxi is very difficult, but I want to.
The story of two, frankly, losers, whom fate brought together. One is a pharaoh who cannot take the first step with a girl, win the favor of his superiors and pass on his license. The second is an ordinary, if you can call it that, taxi driver, for whom the car and the road are everything. And together they are to catch a gang of Germans in a Mercedes.
The Taxi movie did something that many films had never done before. More precisely, it was managed by Luc Besson, because from the very first minutes you can feel his hand, although he did not direct. He managed to make a movie about cars that people who care about cars will like. I'm one of those. When my friends watch the Furious and admire a car, I can’t understand them. When I watch a taxi, I understand. Because it's a puppy's joy to watch the Good Old Peugeot transform into a racing car that accelerates to 220 km/h on the freeway. And how stupid guards can't catch him. And how Daniel can easily fool Mercedes. So, the car part here is one of the best in the genre.
Excellent and humorous. Great French style of comedy. A commissioner who constantly comes up with names for his operations. Gopniks who steal a car in front of the whole precinct. Smoked mother Emilion along with the same high, but no less beautiful Marion Cotillard. Everything is soaked in a kind of comfort. You feel like you are in this company.
The atmosphere adds to the soundtrack. O la la la! Cool French rap, which may well argue with the American for the title of the best rap in the world. Yes, in such a beautiful, "kartava" language.
Of course, there are shortcomings. In both the plot and the production. For example, why would the Germans, who have just robbed a bank, follow the trick of a taxi driver and chase him through the streets of Marseille? But who cares? That's not the point. I don't want to see it. I just want to enjoy the action on the screen. There are movies that fly by in a second, despite an hour and a half of timekeeping. Taxis like this.
Objectively speaking, the first part of quadrology deserves only 8. Fuck you, this is my review, the most subjective in the world, and that's why I give Taxi a 10. A minimum of 10.
I am almost convinced that if this film had been made in Hollywood, the special European charm of comedy would have been lost. By the way, Marseille looks amazing - events take place in the warm season and the city has a delightful attitude. Sometimes at high speed there is no time to admire the beauty. Of course, I would like our roads to be made with the same quality – French streets and highways allow you to run at a speed of more than two hundred kilometers per hour. The scenes themselves on the roads turned out to be spectacular - this is probably due to the writer of the script Luc Besson, who originally created the story. Again, it is difficult to imagine how the main character is running daily through the streets of Marseille at extreme speeds, but you do not pay attention to such trifles after a few scenes. Everything that happens looks very cheerful, energetic and there is no hint of boredom. In addition, the timing is small, so you do not even notice how quickly time passes. There are even the main villains in the rhythm of the idea of the film - bank robbers on Mercedes. You can hardly think about seriousness here, but this will only spoil your impressions. It is better to just relax and have fun.
The main and secondary characters themselves are deeply positive. During the film, we are repeatedly convinced of the incredible talent of Daniel behind the wheel. In addition, the work or deeds of the whole film prevent him from finally being in the arms of his beloved girl. This note of irony does not get tired and looks fresh. And his new friend from the police Emilien is a kind of loser. Together they made a memorable blow, especially given the prejudices of each. Secondary characters, although not remembered for long, successfully complement the picture, which is only the local police Commissioner with his covert operations. Acting talent is not very important here, but the image created in the frame is very even.
I sincerely believe that this French comedy has brought a real variety to the genre. I never get tired of reviewing it over and over again. The first part is still the best in the series.
There were pictures that my friends and I were looking through the holes. Of course, one of them was the "good old" "Taxi", on the cover of the cassette, which was written by Luc Besson presente, which then, according to fresh impressions, was associated with "The Fifth Element", which means a good movie. I remember in "Taxi 4" were the children of the main characters, the new Peugeot, and the advertising of the French football team, there was nothing more to look at. "Taxi 3" was remembered by Sylvester Stallone, Bai Ling, a gang of Santa Claus, and a car on caterpillars. "Taxi 2" was even better, good music, a chase around Paris, "Eiffel tour" and a parade. But the original, the first film, is still the best. In addition to the zombie box shows, we managed to maniacally review the wonderful scenes of the chase and no less fun dialogues of two completely different characters who were originally destined to become best friends.
One day, an almost ordinary guy Daniel takes in his taxi the same almost ordinary guy Emilien. On the way to his destination, Daniel tells Emilen everything he thinks about the police. At the same time, Daniel also shows Emilen how famously he knows how to drive his taxi. It turns out that Emilien is a policeman. After some fighting, Daniel is offered a deal - death or shame. Either he becomes a pedestrian or he works for the police. We can say that from this moment all adventures begin.
Taxi is the legendary work of Luc Besson as producer and screenwriter, and Gerard Pires as director. Not only this film, but the entire franchise has long been a favorite of the public. Despite the fact that the first part of “Taxi” I do not consider the best in quadrology, it is still a great start to this story about the taxi driver-driver Daniel and the mountain police officer Emilen.
The whole film is simply filled with spectacular chases, interesting dialogue and funny humor. This picture can rightly be considered a good example of a French comedy action movie. In Taxi, all of the above combines into one and forms an exciting film, which for 14 years has forced its fans to watch it again and again.
Now let me say a few words about the main characters.
That crazy taxi driver was played by Sami Naseri. His character remains one of the most memorable for me. Sami performed his role very well and created a truly interesting and to some extent funny character.
And the role of the policeman went to Frederick Diefenthal. He did a wonderful job. Together with Sami Naseri, he looked very harmonious.
Everything that is shown in this film was already hundreds of times passed before the appearance of this picture and after that. But Taxi still remains in the lead.
Daniel Morales was born to drive fast. He switched from pizza delivery to taxi drivers because he achieved perfection in motorcycle racing. Daniel tuned his ordinary Peugeot 406 to a racing car. If you have 25 minutes to fly, Daniel will take you to the airport in ten minutes, but you will not fly anywhere, as you will have to call Ichthiander in the toilet after the trip for half an hour. But once Daniel is not lucky - he takes to the station, along the way violating all the rules of the road Emilien - a policeman-idle, who for the eighth time can not pass on the license, but who still can deprive Daniel of the rights for a hundred years. And Daniel is faced with a terrible choice: either lose his rights for life, or start cooperating with the police. And between "death and shame," he chooses "shame." Meanwhile, Marcel is terrorized by the German Red Mercedes gang, which once again robs the bank, and the police once again can not catch them and can not even track them down. But “the racer sees from afar” and Daniel will help the police to get on their trail.
The producer and screenwriter of this picture was Luc Besson, but the director was Gerard Pires - a specialist in the shooting of Formula 1 and advertising high-speed cars. And in the choice of director and cameraman, the producers did not lose - the scenes of car chases were shot magnificently. Easy and dynamic story does not let go of the screen. And the selection of actors is not bad: of course, the duo of Sami Naseri and Frederick Diefenthal does not reach the level of Philip Noir and Thierry Lermitt in Open the Police, but they look decent. And other actors did no worse, it should be noted Bernard Farsi, who perfectly portrayed a slightly dorky Commissioner Gibert.
This film captures the French spirit. The German robbers are shown to be practically neo-Nazis, and the French are clearly laughing at the Germans. And the film shows to some extent the confrontation of two cultures: French with Peugeot, Marseillaise, l'amour ala française and German with its Mercedes, discipline and other bad things. Of course, there is an element of political correctness in the form of an assistant commissioner of the German Petra with whom Emilien is in love. And the humor in the film is natively French: light, repetitions and stupid jokes in it there, unlike most American comedies.
Bottom line: a very good comedy worth watching. None of the sequels could achieve the same lightness and dynamism as the original.

This film was very friendly in Russia. We liked the original French humor, and with each part of "Taxi" fans increased, hence the expectation too.
I personally liked the idea and the script that Luc Besson wrote. Even in the film, I remember the acting of Sami Naseri and Friederic Diefenthal.
In general, the film “Taxi” is another masterpiece from Besson, which you need to watch to cheer up, or if you just want a killer comedy!
