"That Disneyland, this is war." "84 Charlie Mopic" or "The Chronicles of the Vietnam War," an undeservedly forgotten movie that is simply masterpiece. I have never heard of this film, although I love the Vietnam theme. He attacked him quite accidentally and did not regret the time spent. So, what is the film about and what is it masterpiece?
26 days left, and then free for all 4th.
A documentary cameraman and a young lieutenant arrive in a detachment of hardened paratroopers-scouts. A lieutenant to become a combat officer there, a cameraman to film a war that's hell. The film is shot in a documentary manner, where we see everything from the cameraman’s lens. As tight as possible and without bills.
“I was showing tapes ... There were no operators, so... So they're dead, right? Scary..."
The picture catches you from the first seconds, you get acquainted with the characters, going with them for a simple operation, listening to stories about their lives, becoming attached to them. But in war, you can’t get attached to people, and in this movie. Some of the characters will like you and you will think “Yes, this is the guy I trust with my life!” and someone you will hate. This creates an effect of presence that I have not experienced in a very long time. Perhaps, this film can be compared with the documentary “Restapo”, but do not forget that “Charlie” is a feature film.
“Wars are rare, and not a single career officer will miss such an opportunity. "
High-quality dialogue, great acting and a camera that documents everything so truthfully that you really believe in what is happening. Excellent move with documentary style, Bravo.
“1st grade specialist, Hammer. Machine gunner. And a psycho on the whole head.
A great film that shows us the underside of the Vietnam War. No brave cavalrymen, no rock 'n' roll and a pack of Marlborough behind the helmet strap. For those who have not seen, and I think many who have not seen, a pleasant viewing. My assessment:
10 out of 10
