The summer season has begun not only in terms of the weather, but also oddly enough in the movies. And at this time of year often come out really “carbon” comedies. At least remember these crazy movies for a long time, which can not be said about the kinza in the last three months.
I recently got lucky to see the trailer for “Escape from Vegas” and here it is already in the cinema.
Plot
As expected, the film is not for people with moral foundations, which plunges the viewer into the unbridled world of vulgarity. The plot is interesting, and do not believe the comments that “Escape” is “something” similar to “Bachelor party in Vegas”. It's more like a continuation of "In the Flight." Pretty mocked the world of glamorous and "perfect" show business - added fun and vulgarity, so unobtrusive. Pop rock certainly did not suffer such a global “mental” collapse as pop, but in the picture all this is moderately compensated. And by the way, half of all the events took place not only in the alluring Las Vegas.
The film is characterized by a non-standard sequence of events, but on the other hand, it was initially clear that the couple would drink absinthe, sniff coke and smoke dope, and if they remain alive, they might have time for the concert. What thoughts can be about music, when you can break away completely and even get a heart attack as a reward?
Some protracted episodes have become superfluous, but they do not essentially spoil the overall picture.
Actors
There are no complaints against selected actors. Everyone was uninhibited and outwardly not annoying, which can not be said about half of the comedies of this “musical” type. The characters of Brand and Byrne in “Escape” are the most significant, such as the brightest.
Russell Brand
A good TV presenter and actor, but some of his projects are really annoying. Why repeat and it is so clear that here the role suits him.
Rose Byrne
I've seen her in a lot of movies, and Byrne is certainly talented. I have never imagined her in a comedic image, but they suit her more tired dramatic ones.
Sometimes you can make fun of it
A sparkling comedy that is best watched on the big screen and with an irreplaceable group of friends.
The original title of “Get Him to the Greek” can be translated as “Bring Him to the Greek”. It's a strange name, isn't it? In fact, the word "Greek" refers to the name of the Los Angeles "Greek Theatre" ("Greek Theatre"). But our localizers decided to give the film a more understandable title, namely Escape from Vegas. They were guided by what: literally a year before “Escape...” another comedy was released, which received the name “Bachelor in Vegas”, although in translation from the original it sounded like “Hangover”. In general, domestic distributors used the usual trick: they played the title so that the viewer began to buy tickets to theaters, without even thinking about what this film will be. By the way, the next year after “Escape...” this technique was again adopted: the simple-to-name film “Bride Girlfriends” was adapted as “Bachelorette in Vegas”. In general, it is necessary that the plot at least a little touched the city of excitement and vice.
Escape from Vegas was directed by Nicholas Stoller. He once got off to a good start as a screenwriter, writing plots for Jim Carrie's films Dick and Jane Scammers and Always Say YES". But later he was lured to the company “Apatow Productions”, where everything is run by producer, director and screenwriter Judda Apatow, combining the obligations of the legal spouse of the actress Leslie Mann. And the studio maneuver, how to lure a talented comedy screenwriter, was simple, but at the same time deft: Stoller was offered not only to write the plot, but also to take the director's chair. In 2008, he directed the romantic comedy Flying Away (actually Forgetting Sarah Marshall), which earned over $100 million worldwide. And it is in this comedy that the viewer has the opportunity to get acquainted with the shocking rock musician Aldous Snow, played by Russell Brand. Critics noted Brand's good performance, although he was actually showing himself rather than creating an image. In Escape from Vegas, Snow returns.
As returns actor and comedian Jonah Hill, who everyone and everything wants to prove that he is a serious actor with dramatic talent and his efforts were even twice awarded by the competitive jury of the Oscars for supporting roles in the films “The Man Who Changed Everything” and “The Wolf of Wall Street”. In the comedy “Away” Hill plays a secondary character Matthew Van Der Vick, and in “Escape from Vegas” his hero, already the main one, is called Aaron Green. Apparently, in an Indian movie, two newborn twins were separated. And here is one of them, that is, Aaron Green works for the tycoon of the music business Sergio Roma (played by his rapper Sean "Pee Diddy" Combs), who sends Aaron to bring to the concert in the "Greek Theatre" rocker Aldous Snow, who failed with the latest album "African Child" and broke up with his girlfriend-singer with the shocking from Lady Gaga Jackie Q (Rose Byrne). But they still know that the stars are capricious and extraordinary creatures and Aaron does not yet know what changes he will have to get into with the frenzied Snow. Alcohol, drugs, women, family squabbles, fights – all this in abundance awaits the viewer with the film “Escape from Vegas”.
Thanks to this film, I am convinced that Jonah Hill is first and foremost a comedian. He can follow in the footsteps of Jim Carrie or Adam Sandler, who have repeatedly shown decent performance in dramas, but it is too early for Hill to say that he successfully fits into non-comedic characters. In general, he is not bad in the image of Aaron Green, sometimes even sympathize with this ordinary guy who himself unknowingly got into the whirlpool of the elements named Aldous Snow. Russell Brand and in life is distinguished by unusual and even scandalous behavior, which he perfectly demonstrates on the screen. Sexapile in her image of Rose Byrne, who will then play the lead female role in Nicholas Stoller’s dilogy Neighbors. On the warpath.” A complete psychopath, whose lexicon consists of a mat on a mate, from whom you must run before it is too late, is shown by Sean "Pee Diddy" Combs. Crazy hero Colm Mini. Anyway, there's someone here to see. Even Kristen Bell, who played the same Sarah Marshall in the comedy “In the Flight”, will flash, but this will be the so-called “Easter Egg”. And there will be many more people in cameo, for example, the leader and drummer of the cult group “Metallica” Lars Ulrich and Tim Felton, aka Draco Malfoy in “Potterian”, which the hero of Hill will offer to play Quidditch.
But still, the films produced by the studio “Apatow Productions” are frankly vulgar in jokes, and many actors behave either as unbred children or as sexually anxious adults. In this plane from the film Nicholas Stoller “Escape from Vegas” is to protect the younger generation, or inadvertently crazy scenes from it can serve as a catalyst for bringing them to life. And alcohol and drugs are not the best topics for jokes. But the student fraternity may like this film, and people a little older. Perhaps it would be correct to call “Escape from Vegas” the slang word “entertaining”.

The movie with that title surprised me. And it was pleasantly surprised! And I didn’t think that the used tooth-grabbing “Vegas” in the phrase, could reveal something suitable. However, the creation of Nicolas Stoller struck at the heart. And the film gave a mixture of various emotions, the winner in the race of which was won by positive emotions.
This picture is about rock and roll, and about friendship and loyalty. And this is also a cool funny comedy, not sloppy. And that's exactly what surprised me. A collection of all these qualities and factors. Although, I'll bet my soul if I say that Stoller's tape was some kind of out of the ordinary revelation. But, as it is fashionable today to say, delivered the picture pretty well.
In fact, the production company takes on a difficult task - to revive the career of a fading rock singer. Aron must revive Aldous Snow. Sort of like everything when it comes to synopsis. But in the rapprochement of the two antipodes lies the whole meaning of this fascinating diva. On the road and adventure will be the communication of two different people. Their identities will be revealed from head to toe. This means that the characters are worked out without a single bitch and a single hitch.
Of course, somewhere in the back of your mind, you might realize that these two can become friends. Will they? This is what the film will be about.
But besides all this, it also has an instructive character. And it reflects and raises to the rarities of the day family problems from every angle. It's a pearl, not a movie.
But because of Aron's boss, I can't afford to give the film the highest score. The writers of the film allowed too much by putting it into this film. And if at first it was funny, then when they ran away from Vegas, the actions of a black patron just infuriated.
Of course, this film is a benefit of Russell Brand and John Hill. But so what? If they're dragging...
I decided to watch the film only because of Rose Byrne, my beloved actress.
But God, that's crazy. The film is vulgar, tasteless, meaningless script, unfunny, only laughed once. By the middle, I was already squandering moments where Aldous and Aaron were talking nonsense. The actor who played Aaron didn’t like his performance. No emotions, no dynamics.
In the film, the idea of “sex, drugs, rock and roll” runs through the red line and everything revolves around it. But we are never offered any morals or ideas. Stupid burning of life, and it is presented in a positive light.
The only bright spot is Jackie Q. Rose, as usual, played mesmerizing. The image of a libertine girl in her performance made the heart beat faster, her wonderful eyes are matchless. But damn it, playing vulgar superficial ladies is not her level. I don't like this beautiful actress like that. And in general, she was very, very little, there was no opportunity to fully enjoy her game.
A weak film, in my opinion, without idea, without meaning.

For playing Rose Byrne and, in part, Russell Brand.
I read reviews and feel that I will not be original. What a sin to hide - a vulgar, dirty, immoral film. The last time I laughed like that in the theater, I can’t remember. I watched it the other day, the effect remained the same – sometimes I am even ashamed that I am funny about certain moments of the film. Shameful movie, in general. It’s funny, and that’s the most important thing!
A rare case where you can just turn off your thinking and enjoy life with the annealing duo Aldous Snow and Aaron Greenberg. A hilarious couple in the face of an hapless music agent and a man-catastrophe, who also writes excellent music, burns napalm together with a crazy producer Sergio in a magnificent (pleasantly surprising me!) performance by the famous rapper P. Diddy. The dialogues of the characters, together with the sometimes complete farce of what is happening around, create a strange atmosphere of blissful idiocy, which did not let me go for a good part of the film.
As mentioned above, the film is replete with toilet humor, obscenity, obscene phrases, jokes of a racist nature and footage of extremely inappropriate behavior. However, it all looks so funny, organic and fun that I, hypnotized, just language does not turn to reproach the director for this, in general, obscurantism. The main characters get drunk on alcohol, smoke marijuana, hook girls of easy behavior, sing, talk, drink again, talk, run away from a crazy producer - in short, live, damn it!
Correctly noted by many reviewers – humor in the film, mainly in dialogue, and not in any action, moreover, the film mercilessly ridicules American popular culture, in particular, musical. The apogee of my hysteria, into which the usual laughter flowed, was the moment of stroking the “fluffy” wall – you should see these stoned faces, ironing the mentioned wall and completely ingenious comparisons with the “werewolf house” and “pussy” of the 70s!
What is the music in the movie, my mother? Rock 'n' roll is alive, and one can only regret that the fictional band Infant Sorrow, with its eccentric frontman Aldous Snow, is just a fiction for two Nicholas Stoller films. Russell Brand at least would not get lost in the British rock stage with his talent, amazing charisma and vocals.
However, do not assume that the film is one big rust. Laughter subsides in moments of sentimentality Aldous - for all his ambiguity and odiousness, he is a caring father, still a loving husband (albeit an ex) and, as it turns out, a completely lonely man. A piece of this kind of drama put me in a real stupor - for a monologue in a pool with a broken bleeding arm and eyes full of tears and fatigue from what is happening, I would give the Oscar to Russell Brand. "You say Oscar?" I would have this figure in the toilet would look great on the shelf! – Russell Brand would answer me and smile through tears. That is why I did not raise my hand to give the film a passing 7-8 points for a good comedy. No matter how blasphemous this film sounds, at the end of your waiting catharsis. The real thing.
It was unforgettable. Having stroked the “fluffy” wall and pretty cheering up, I bet for the best comedy of 2010, and perhaps even decades.

I can’t remember the last time I laughed like that. Probably McGruber, but for some reason, he was quickly forgotten. And the most interesting thing is that I got to the movie by accident. I haven’t even seen a trailer or any commercial. The film was a real surprise to me.
Separately, I want to say about the main component of the film – humor! It's multifaceted! Here you and jokes below the waist, and just hilarious dialogue with an open banter over music and films, and just funny situations!
There is no desire to talk about the actors, because in principle they are all comedic and play their roles as the situation requires. However, one of the actors I want to put above the main characters is Puff Daddy! As many have noticed, he is very similar to his white business colleague Les Grossman! However, if the latter appeared only in a few episodes, Sergio, performed by Puff Daddy, for all his screen time, made him slide under the chair in every scene where he was present! Those who have already seen the film will remember the scene with a hairy wall for a long time!
This comedy definitely deserves to go to the cinema at least once. I can say with absolute probability that it will pay for the ticket! And certainly worthy of reviewing it more than once on DVD, because really funny comedies now you can count on your fingers!
