What they fought for, they fought for. There was a tragedy at an American school. The successful student, for whatever reason, shot a large number of people, including his parents. But the film is not about the killer, not about the reasons why he did it. It's about the schoolgirls who survived this tragedy. The informal, the “white crow” Alicia and the girl-chamomile Diana.
Fate would never bring them together, they are so different, but circumstances intervened. The shooter is dead, his parents are dead, the investigation is deadlocked, the public is outraged by the inaction of the police. Diana, injured in a gunfight by a ricochet in the hospital, goes crazy with memories of what happened. Alicia does not make contact, although there is information that the day before she spoke on the phone with the killer. In order to get her information, it was planned to set her up with Diana. Girls with great difficulty penetrate trust in each other and, by and large, pull each other out of the world.
Everything is clear in the image of Diana, rich, smart, trouble-free, you can say the dream of her parents, a girl, but at the same time she is lonely and agrees even to have her father buy her friends (although this is impossible). I didn't understand the image of Alicia. Why a sweet, friendly girl turned into an insensitive image Even the explanation given in the film is unconvincing to me. I know people who have lost loved ones, yes grief, yes anguish, yes depression, but to change so much, to cut veins, you need another explanation. It seems to me that it lies in Alicia’s guilt, which has been talked about in passing, but has received very little attention. It is the feeling of guilt that her oversight of the tragedy occurred. How can you freeze to death under such conditions? This is what causes, tortures and does not allow normal life.
Why does this kind of crime happen so often in America? It is clear that it is easy to acquire weapons and computer games and television with violence. But in other countries, we have it. I think the reason is that Americans from early childhood are indoctrinated and they feel that they are the masters of the planet, the masters of the world, that without them, like without a garbage can, they will not understand anywhere. And this “navel of the earth”, with weak brains, was offended or it seemed to him that he was offended. The “liberator of the human race,” with a gun in his hand, rushes to defend his depraved honor.
