A few minutes over Korea Almost immediately after “The Enemy Below”, Robert Mitchum appears in another war film. And the same director - Dick Powell.
This time, the battles of the Korean War unfold in front of us, and Mitchum plays an experienced pilot leader. The intrigue of the film is that the hero of Robert Mitchum starts an affair with the wife of his subordinate.
This role was brilliantly played by Robert Wagner. Not showing his inner feelings externally, he is indignant internally. Meanwhile, Mitchum plays a good fighter and a decent man. The fact is that as a result of the task, his subordinate will be shot down. What will the hero do – leave his friend, thereby solving a personal problem or violating directives, stay and save him? You can find out about this by watching the movie.
The film does not claim much, and the love line correctly woven into the narrative (and the line of rivalry between two men) makes watching the film more exciting.
In the end: a film with Robert Mitchum about a love triangle in the line of pilots who make an important combat flight during the Korean War. A very dynamic and tense ending equalizes the impression of the film. In addition, Mitchum here as usual is magnificent.
