Revenge in years. One of the last movies seen last week (tomorrow my guests come back, and probably again disappear for a week, and even we finally got vaccinated against the coronavirus, and now some weakness, probably a couple of days a little sick). But, I was distracted, moving on to the review.
I always like this movie. And whether longing for the old men, or this mood was, but very drawn to look at the young Hema and Rajesh Khanna in the prime of years. Looks like a princess. Loves it like Juliette.
Predictability of the plot did not spoil the impressions - on the contrary - plunged into vivid memories and dreams! Interweaving the inner and outer world ... Some scenes look naive and funny, but in general - super! I remembered and "Arundati", and "Together forever", and "Magadhira" and a bunch of stories about reincarnation. This is a favorite topic of Indians. Do not feed bread - let me take something about the rebirth of the soul.
They say that in a previous life the crime was committed and the criminal escaped punishment. But do not rejoice, this poor fellow, because exactly in 20 years the image of the one (or one) whom he killed long ago and forgot about it will appear before him. The image is necessarily a bullet-in-a-bullet as a victim and necessarily suffers from flashes / lapses in memory and the film gender behaves like an abnormal and thinks: "What kind of visions are these!". But then the criminal meets and the victim with a subdued face commits an act of retribution with the thought - "Oh, you are such an infection!" He killed me in a previous life! I had to be born again so that you, such a bastard, would avenge your crimes! Long live reincarnation!
I don’t know what to write... I want to say a lot. Old films are not particularly realistic and older actresses are not diverse in their images. Here Hema has a double role. And she's really smart - really different. Extraordinary. Beautiful. Her characters are not confused with each other, despite the fact that they are similar in character. We are used to seeing double roles in actresses: one necessarily an angel, the other a bitch. But this is different. It's the time frame. A village girl from the '60s and an urban girl from the '80s. They are similar not only externally, but also internally. And Hema perfectly managed to "delimit" them with a clear line. So you can't confuse... Bravo!
I really liked the daughter of the main villain, especially her act in the name of love for her father. Raj Kumar here acts as the main villain, whose actions formed the basis of the drama.
Rajesh Khanna liked it as always, the handsome man has no strength. His image is tragic and at the same time very natural. I love Rajesh in such roles, his piercing look penetrates directly into the soul and it is impossible to break away from his character.
But the character Vinoda, somehow not very liked, whether the role was not properly prescribed, or he worked reluctantly. Although it is quite unlike him, he always gives his best, but here somehow did not impress.
The trial of old movies is almost a separate movie. In general, the whole film is designed in the style of “classic”, without excesses. It looks very easy and pleasant. I love these movies. When there is nothing to complain about, and there is nowhere to dig... A only remains that high catch.
This film is an interesting chilling drama of a past life. Hema Malini and Rajesh Khan play the role of lovers in their past lives. The film has a beautiful soundtrack with several beautiful romantic numbers.
The past lives of two lovers unfold in the era before independence, when Shimla was the summer capital of the British. The reference to a past life is very authentic, and the way it was filmed is far ahead of its time. In addition, the crime scene and the next few minutes are filmed in a style not typical of Hindi cinema. The inherent drama of the script is emphasized by superbly thought-out situations and wonderful dialogues. The play of all actors complements a brilliantly written script. Hema Malini has the most difficult role of all, and she does well, looking absolutely gorgeous throughout the film.
The whole feeling of the film is melancholy and the unknown. The setting is akin to the old English mystical drama, and rightly so, because Shimla is indeed a Victorian city in many ways. Stunning music R.D. Birman, as always fits perfectly into the plot. The song "Humein Tumse Pyaar Kitna", often sounds in the film and surprisingly well conveys the essence of the story. Another memorable song "Tune O Rangeele", a beautiful clip conveying both the beauty of Shimla, and the romance of the relationship Paro and Madho.
"Kudrat" is an excellent mystical, dramatic film that has its own uniqueness, its own history and its own charm, which is the result of a brilliant script and directing Chetan Anand.
