Murder. This one picture of Giovanni D’Heramo as a director attracts attention primarily with the participation of Marisa Mell, a beautiful, prominent and stylish actress of her time. For me, and probably for many fans of Italian films of the past, she is a kind of icon, along with Barbara Boucher and Jadwiga Fenek and a number of other actresses. Actually, the picture caught my attention with the participation of Marisa Mell.
In this film, she plays Louise, the wife of a rich and successful elderly man, the owner of a surgical clinic. After some time, Louise realizes that she and her husband are completely different people, in interests, characters and upbringing. And the only way to break up Louise sees in the murder of her rich husband. The audience can witness the murder at the very beginning of the picture, the director without postponing this terrible event in a long box shows us how it was perfect. Next, the viewer will see what led Louise to this terrible decision. The narration and plot canvas of the tape will begin from the moment of the very first meeting of Louise and her future husband.
To all this, the director develops a second line, inextricably linked with the first, the murder of her husband was seen by a random witness, he wants to benefit from this, starting to blackmail Louise. The film is decided in the style of a domestic thriller, most of the events, the most important, will take place in the house of Louise’s husband. All fatal actions will take place here, the consequences of which will be very sad and tragic for all participants of this drama without exception.
It was not the worst crime scene of that period. The film and events in it develop slowly, the calm development of the storyline is diluted with the beautiful music of the guru of the composer’s workshop Stelvio Cipriani. Another beautiful soundtrack giving nostalgia for the past time. Beautiful and expressive music.
As in many other paintings with the participation of Marisa Mell here, she can also be seen half-naked. Erotic scenes with her are not the best side of this tape, again compared to her other works. Her role here was far from ideal for me. Her Louise is a lost girl who embarked on the path of crime and wanted to get out of a predicament. The character of her character Marisa revealed, as it seemed to me, not completely. You do not feel a strong tear and heaviness from what was done in her heroine.
But with all the roughness and irregularities of the tape, it still has some charm and attractiveness, primarily some directorial decisions and small digressions associated with the actions of a character in a certain situation. Such actions, decisions and actions of the characters could only be in the cinema of that time.
The picture can be interesting primarily to those who are interested in Italian genre films of past years and fans of Marisa Mell. Others may not appreciate it.
