A good and logical film on an important topic for me. I often wonder how lawyers exonerate people they know are criminals. How do they sleep peacefully at night, knowing that thanks to their efforts, murderers, rapists, thieves are walking around in the wild? When I watch movies where the main character is a lawyer, I do not understand what motivates them, why their conscience is silent, but it is impossible to deny their need, because you need to protect the innocent. So this movie raises one of the big questions that plague me. The fact is that the main character named Jayant (played by Rajesh Khanna) is a lawyer, and he protects the villains: smugglers, drug dealers, dens, sellers of women and rapists. And not for money and thirst for profit, no: he just thinks that he is doing his job well. It’s kind of like the creators of the atomic bomb — we invented it, developed it and released it into the world, but it’s not our fault for the deaths after the explosion. It is the fault of those who chose to use it in this way (like, are there other options?). I have nothing to do with GG, I release them, but their subsequent murders, robberies and violence have nothing to do with me, my pens are clean, I serve the law so much. His position is spoken and considered from all sides several times, since his best friend is police officer Amit ("Suresh Oberoy"), who catches these scoundrels and tries to put them behind bars. This is a tandem: one catches and the other protects. They are constantly arguing about who is right. To be honest, I completely shared the policeman’s point of view (especially since Suresh Oberoy was great in this film: mustache, uniform, burning eyes, angry speeches). My heart melted from looking at him. It was great, no words. And at some point, Amit can’t stand it and says that you (Jayant) are so calm about it (he’s right, Rajesh was very cold and restrained in this role). In principle, the right approach, his character, and should be a detached person, because no one with a hot heart could defend all these repeat offenders all this time, because it does not concern you. Here he turned out to be right, because as they say, until the rooster bites, the Russian peasant does not get bored (well, or something similar). In general, the wife of our lawyer is raped, she can not stand such shame and commits suicide. Then he finally got stuck and got the idea of revenge. Then you need to watch, because the film is quite interesting, the actors play well, and the heart of the audience craves justice. The cast is full of wonderful masters of his craft: Amrish Puri (here he is with gray, like silver hair, restrained, but no less dangerous), Prem Chopra paired with Madan Puri he is actively helping, and in the gang also a powerful Sudhir and colorful Mac Mohan, well, he opposes them all Rakesh Roshan with the support Iftekhar> Jaya Prada is responsible for love and affection (I usually treat her exactly, but here she is an incredible beauty). It is a goddess, not an earthly woman. Shameful only too, but it is important in the plot: if she is even ashamed to kiss her husband, then what a blow and tragedy for her was rape by a stranger!, Supriya Pathak (I saw her for the first time, but the girl is pleasant, alive and active, so I liked) and Bina (it was not enough, a few episodes, and I'm sorry - she's nice). The songs were more in the first part, where there was a lot of romance, beautiful views, we were introduced to the characters, so it was appropriate. The second part is without songs, more predictable, but also more tragic. I liked the film, except for a couple of small remarks, so I advise you to watch it, and I will review it myself for the sake of Suresh Oberoy (he is so rarely positive, and for a long time that for me it is a real joy) and Amrish Puri (albeit a scoundrel, as usual, but different from his typical images). Well, and beautiful clips with Jaya Prada (oddly enough for me).
P.S. The end surprised with its realism, in life it will be, but usually the audience does not show it. It's on display here, I respect it.
