Did the whole world snap at you? Drink the elixir! A long time ago, Ren-TV showed the movie Return to Horror School. I watched it - now I don't remember what there and where, I should see - but I did not know that the tape, it turns out, has a predecessor - please love and give - "School of horror".
Vernon Potts is a creepy spectacle and a nerd. As expected, almost everyone dislikes him, from the school janitor to the teachers. With the janitor, by the way, came out such a story - having quarreled with Vernon about a dead cat, he with anger forced the guy to drink a certain chemical crap, under the influence of which Vernon became a terrible badge catcher, who unmercifully sent the janitor to drink from a barrel of acid. When he wakes up, the guy in a hurry covers his tracks. And then he realizes that everyone from school bullies to unjust teachers can go to hell, because Vernon now has the elixir. The former nerd begins to take revenge.
This seventies peculiar variation of the story of Jekyll and Hyde was created by the forgotten God and people studio Crown International Pictures, which has a resume of hipparo-drugs "Hitchhiker's" of 1975. As it turns out, this office was promoting low-budget student tapes (and it was doing shit because no one in their right mind would watch those movies). “School of horror” fully meets these criteria, because it was shot almost on the knee, almost without a budget and certainly on a completely wild quality film.
To summarize briefly: the actors in the film are very mediocre, especially no one stood out. There are no unexpected plot twists in sight. Murders happen once in a while - but with enough blood, sometimes with makeup (as in the aforementioned moment with the cleaner and acid). Vernon-monster almost all screen time is kept in the shadows, so it is not even possible to properly consider it. Everything that's not about murders is a middle hand sketch from the everyday life of a nerd and the investigation of a black police officer investigating murders. The music in the picture is very nothing (well, at least for a lover of retro), although sometimes the background for some reason let something resembling ultrasound, which is very annoying.
Oh yes, there is still a rather curious (albeit simple to the impossible) camera solution, when the camera is slightly tipped on its side, because of this, some corridors seem tilted (this is especially evident in the final) - someone is a trifle, but for some reason I was pleased.
Actually, "School of Horrors" is such a semi-artisan, but sometimes curious sketch. It is not necessary to know her, to get acquainted with her - especially, but still:
