alphonse The title of this film in Russian translation has other options: “Alphonse” and “Pimp”. And, probably, Alphonse is the closest to the essence of the story.
This is the directorial debut of the wonderful Italian actor Hugo Toñazza, who himself played the main role - a modest employee of the pharmaceutical company Stefano Garbelli. One evening Stefano was walking his dog when a prostitute Daniela, wanting to scare a competitor, pointed to him as her pimp. So Stefano began to be watched by real pimps and vice officers. Bad news has reached the management of the company. Garbelli adds trouble when he starts dating Daniela, mistaking her for a nurse.
The film is full of the standards of female beauty of the 1960s: wasp waists, chiseled legs, light dresses ... And the story begins with a miniature of women's legs. The main character is a man, but he constantly falls into dependence on beautiful ladies. Prostitute Daniel uses it as a cover. Carla's country secretary takes care of him at work. Apartment hostess Amalia, widowed, is ready to share with Stefano not only the bed, but also to introduce him to his business. But where is Stefano? What does he want?
Tognazzi tried to dilute the story with funny directorial finds, but they all fit into the opening scenes from the life of the office. The rest of the film turned out to be long, without a twist. Beautiful women are a lot, but not all for an interesting story.
