In pursuit of absolute happiness... A fabulous and mysterious story about growing up and love.
The action takes place at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries and begins with a friendship through the years of two teenagers - Francois and Augustin, nicknamed "Big Moln". A modest and dreamy boy, François meets a new one at school - the original and the fantasist Augustin. One day Augustin disappears for a few days, and then on his return tells an incredible story.
The film is based on the novel of the same name by Alain-Fournier, written in 1913 and is a classic of French literature, telling about the impulse of youth, the romantic perception of being, the nobility of thoughts and of course about love.
Before us is a very beautiful and poetic film, sometimes resembling the painting of the Impressionists, with a flair of mystery in the air and shot in the genre of fairy-tale realism, very inventive and innovative from the camera point of view, through various deformations, blurred colors and bright colors, telling about the pursuit of absolute happiness, about the process of transition into adulthood from the world of childhood, which inevitably gives rise to a sense of ghostliness and impracticability.
I recommend watching.
