He came up with a girl, fell in love with her himself, wanted to get married. No one actually asked her what she wanted. . . ("Sapna" in Hindi means "dream" who does not know)
Who would have thought - may month, and I'm just beginning to write reviews of the films of my "heroine of the year" - Urmila Matondkar. I don’t know, I’ve already seen a lot of films with her, but either they already have reviews on Kinopoisk, or just the soul does not lie to write something. And she's never done any slag, she's one of Ram Gopal Varma's muses, and that means something. But something has gone wrong this year - whatever movie I don't watch - I don't want to write. Although I couldn't get past it, Taboo on the poster finished me off. That poster is not from this movie! Tabu, an Indian actress, has a film whose title sounds similar in Russian. But this is no reason to confuse posters!
A film with a very simple plot, a melodrama-tire-comedy. Maybe someone will call him frankly stupid, but laughing and sympathizing - very much will go. Of course, it failed at the box office, but I don’t think it was a blow for Urmila – she has many other successful films, and for Sanjay Kapoor, who played the main role, failure is a common thing. He wasn't mounted here with Urmi, but he wasn't. Too dreamy and soft-bodied comrade turned out, in my opinion. There lived such a great-aged child Vijay, looking for work (under the kicks of his father) and dreamed of everything. I dreamed of meeting a girl with a mole at the navel. In fact, this is where her description ends. Meanwhile, he was "matched" for a completely different girl - Nandini (Madhu). By the way, against the background of Urmila, it does not look in a winning light - Urmi is so refined, and Madhu's appearance is specific, it must be carefully filmed close-up. She wasn’t very young, but she was older. Both Urmi and Madhu flaunt the entire film in colorful saris and stylish contemporary costumes. Against their background, Sanjay looks pale and wretched somehow. Actually, he's kind of incomplete here. And why did Sapna still love him? Urmila is beautiful, just stunningly beautiful. By the way, the famous series of photos of Urmi in a yellow dress is from this film.
I have nothing more to say about the story, actually. Throughout the film, we observed all sorts of inconsistencies and annoying inconsistencies, inconsistencies and inconsistencies between GG, which alone are Vijay-Sanjay of his Sapna-dream. All the other actors in places overplayed, and in places mixed. Shakti Kapoor always managed not only scoundrels, but also comic roles. So they mocked his hero: they slipped a castork to him, and tried to drink silk for cows... As he said, “Wedge kicked out, poison washed down with poison.” Anupam Kher behaved rather stupidly, but funny. Irritated only maniacally in love with Urmila pyrotechnic engineer: overplayed godlessly and only at the end of the film it becomes clear why he spent time and film. Even more superfluous, in my opinion, were the brothers-thieves who poached spoon-forks at weddings - I would cut them out from their "Tea Drinking?" Do you have something to eat?
The songs were all very emotional. I especially liked one - when the hero is inquired about what she is - his princess of dreams - not a song, but an encyclopedia of actresses-stars of the 90s. And so, the rest are also very melodic and shot very brightly and colorfully, with beautiful Indian landscapes.
In general, if you want to spend a relaxing evening - yu and velki.
