In 1953, they tried to take over the planet. Now they're taking over our bodies. About the series “War of the Worlds” learned quite by accident, this adaptation tells about what happens many years after the ill-fated events of 1953. The series has nothing to do with the book by H.G. Wells. The idea itself is most reminiscent of the popular in those years series "V - a sign of victory" and the film "Aliens among us."
People on Earth live quite calmly and try not to remember the invasion, but as it turned out, the high level of radiation contributes to the awakening of aliens who were considered dead and buried long ago. The invaders move to a remote place and now prepare new plans to defeat humanity. Humans mean nothing to aliens! Since the defeat, the humanoids have understood a lot and are now masquerading as captured victims and trying to pull off sabotage that will plunge the world into house, and they will stop at nothing! Aliens are very difficult to distinguish from humans, as they copy everything, including voice and memory, except that they eat flowers and constantly wear sunglasses. Now the fate of all mankind is in the hands of a handful of people, only they know what is happening!
Guided by the resistance: microbiologist Harrison Blackwood, Dr. Suzanne McCullought, master of hacking computer networks Norton Drake and Colonel Paul Ironhorse, the mercenary John Kincaid, as well as the resistance helps one of the participants of the first wave of attack which was put on forced treatment, she still feels the aliens, each character is perfectly prescribed and when watching is always worried about them.
Very interesting and the titles of the series are “An eye for an eye”, “Walls of Jericho”, “Epiphanius”, “Angel of Death” and many others. The spirit of the original picture is also preserved, at the beginning of each series we see excerpts from the film, alien ships and the aggressors themselves have not changed at all, however, now the leaders of the humanoids wear costumes reminiscent of Mandoshovan from the Fifth Element, but since the series was shot earlier, there is an originality in this. Not without showing the Soviet Union in one of the series, but everything turned out well.
From the technical side, the series for its years looked very good, there were moments that plunged into real horror.
The actors all play great, very much like the role of Richard Chavez which for him became the “star hour” it’s a pity that recently the actor was not visible, Jared Martin, Philip Akin, Linda Mason Green and Rachel Blanchard perfectly revealed the characters of their characters, as well was good and then starting Adrian Paul, it was nice to find his presence. Among the invited celebrities are Julian Richings, Colm Fiori, Kim Coates, James Hong and Michael Hogan.
The series at one time was popular and had considerable ratings twice lasted two seasons, it is a pity that now almost no one remembers it, in general, a fascinating creation came out.
